    This version of A6 allroad uses Quattro Ultra system. Front and rear diffs are open. Gearing (dog clutch) in the rear is used for connecting the driveshaft with the diff. Electromechanical multiplate clutch-pack at front is responsible for torque transfer. Entire system was originally developed by Magna Powertrain, it consists of Flex4 coupling at front & Flex4 disconnect system (Flex4 Fast Reconnect + open diff) at rear.

      Is the sum of what your stating in reference to Ryan talking about wheel spin and power being pushed 'actively'? I thought I noticed some wheel spin but not as bad as other systems.
      I may be biased, but as an Audi (semi-quatro [TT]) owner, I say these things have a pretty good system.

    • @4x4.tests.on.rollers
      @4x4.tests.on.rollers Před 2 lety +10

      @@SlowRollaAE82 What I wanted to say is that left/right torque distribution is based on open differentials and brake intervention. That may include two systems - active "brake vectoring" during cornering (braking with no slippage) and classic traction control system which is braking the slipping wheels - here you may switch to offroad mode to make the intervention more aggresive. This system is the same - as you called it - semi quattro. It does not have center differential and it is not permanent but of course these systems are very good.

Why does EVERY car market in the world recognize the virtue, practicality, efficiency, adaptability and desirability of wagons, every market but the USA 🤨🤨 Of the wagons that have featured on your channel lately, I rate the Allroad and Outback just behind the SENSATIONAL and STUNNING Toyota Fielder you were driving in Kenya 🤩🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👏

Some of us love the nostalgia, but the overwhelming majority of us absolutely despise them or they’re impractical for our lives. I have nostalgia for an 80s wagon with the faux wood paneling, but I need a full size truck. My wife has a Toyota Sequoia and it meets our needs, as she would be embarrassed to drive a van or wagon. Great car. However, I struggle to look over three very strong zonks against it.
    1) Premium fuel;
    2) No sidewalls for an « all-road » vehicle, which is something Volvo does as well. Sure, you can change the wheels and the tires. But at this starting price point, it’s still money to put on the table.
    3) These fingerprint friendly screens. It’s supposed to be a go everywhere vehicle. That’ll collect dust and scratches in a heartbeat.
    I can’t find a rational reason to pick this over an Outback, which is also very comfortable, runs on regular and costs a fraction of this price. Plus, it’s more suitable for off-road purposes.

    Forest service roads recommend at least 8” ground clearance, yet this “all road” has 7.3”. I think for the PNW a Subaru Outback is a better. Wagon, at 1/2 the price. I’m thinking of trading my 2014 Legacy 2.5, for a 2023 Subaru Onyx 2.5, without sunroof and GPS. I’m used to the 2.5 , so am I making a mistake not getting the turbo? Hey Subaru when is a hybrid outback coming?

    Would taller sidewalls fit in the wheel wells on 20s? That'd be nice also for ride height.

    Thx for video but I still don't get it why someone wants to spend 80k on 1 a6 when it can have 2 subaru outback/forester in the same price and far better offroad capabilites..

    Note to Self: Dont drive next to an Audi A6 Allroad when driving. (Driver glare)

    I dont think the new a6 allroad has the quattro system with the center torcen c " locking diff" but the quattro ultra which sucks compared to the older system(still used in some audi models). Audis with tha system are pretty good offroad, put a rear wavetrack difd, some all terrains and you are good for most places.

      The older system is still used in TDI models. Their 55 TDI is an awesome torque monster.

    What’s your opinion on this vs the outback? I feel like the top of line Outback costs less and you get fog lights. What exactly would I be missing besides the brand name of Audi? I like it a lot looks cool but is that it? Mean the a4 not a6

    Why does Audi needs to make a $80k wagon!? There is a reason why those things doesn’t sell well it’s a shame!!! There are sooo many useless features that makes it expensive. At $50-60k it would have been excellent tbh!

      According the CarEdge vehicle depreciation calculator, a 2021 Audi A6 on which this car is based has an anticipated 46% depreciation rate after 5 years. How did you arrive at your rate of 70% depreciation after only 3 years? I do prefer facts over hyperbole.

    Dropping to 19s and choosing taller AT rubber make the ride even better. The falkens are an amazing street/AT balance. Can't wait to spend more time with it off pavement. The air suspension really is game changing. During summer I can slam it with an app. Then in winter slap on the ATs and let quattro eat. Easily the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned.
