Ringo is great, playing exactly what the song needs, simple but still creative, and keeping it swinging
What he played was always perfect for the song: never too flashy, but never too simple, he always had a new sound that fit the song
Although his skills were not appreciated at the time, his stature has risen during the last 20-30 years to reflect his genius. Best rock drummer of all time, IMHO.
Ringo's drums are always my favorite part of these isolation videos. People are finally seeing how great he really was
Billy friggin Preston. Holy crap, what a solo. Still gives me chills. Every grace note, perfect attack and release, just amazing. I've heard others - very talented others - cover his solo and nobody can touch it. Most players are very precise, very mechanical. Billy oozed with soul.
AMEN, Brother!
There's an amazing solo acoustic guitar version of this track by the incomparable Kelly Valleau, he plays bass, rhythm, vocal melody, guitar solo, and the piano breaks...it is spectacular and really captures Billy Preston's groove, not easy on piano, less so on one guitar.
@@WahrheitMachtFrei. That was fantastic!! Thanks for the pointer. If you haven't seen Peter Jackson's "Get Back" documentary, do so immediately. Watching Paul McCartney actually create this song is just magical. It's rare that you get to witness a genius at work. Thanks again!!
@@markc3448 Seen! It's an amazing window into a cultural icon in its inception, and seeing George finding the perfect rhythm groove, as natural as breathing. Wonderful.
@Mr E Beatz Fantastic piece of trivia! Thanks for the info, that's awesome.
Ringo played exactly what the Beatles needed. Amazing simplicity of chaos
Fantastic lead guitar by Lennon. His light, funky touch is perfect for this bouncy rocker. You can hear just how good Lennon's guitar skills were in the isolation offered by this site. He's spot-on all the way through this piece. McCartney was inspired that day when he gave the lead to John, although he did so when Harrison quit the band for several days during the Let It Be sessions. Harrison's rhythm work is feathery and crisp, a perfect balance to Lennon's funky licks and solo. Ringo again shows his brilliant rock drumming with the galloping snare figure, which gives "Get Back" its strong legs and light feet. The Beatles really a great team of ensemble players.
Well said. The precision and tastiness of Ringo's drums is a feature of all these deconstructions. Yes, probably none of them were virtuoso players as such but together they were amazing making the very most of their musicality.
So George doesn't play on this track at all? Hmmmmm. I did not know that. I would have to agree with you. John's guitar playing is superb. Always irritates me to hear garage band unsuccessful wannabe musicians...complain about John's guitar playing and Ringo's drumming. You never hear successful band members say that nonsense. Bet all of The Bealtes contemporaries thought they were great.
@@baberoot1998 George is playing rhythm. John is playing lead.
@@MarkMikelVideos Yes, it is so.
I was surprised that the bass was this simple. It was perfect all put together but alone you'd never guess it would compliment this song so well.
I love Billy's keyboard
Almost better than his playing (which is phenomenal) is his *not playing*, i.e., knowing when to lay back and when to come forward. I'd always assumed the keys were buried in the mix; but this shows that Billy P was just keeping quiet until he had something to say. Beautiful!
Agreed. Billy Preston's intuition is fantastic. 'Get Back', and 'Don't Let Me Down', are fine examples of Preston's abilities. I get goosebumps when I hear his keys on 'Dont Let Me Down'.
The single version of Get Back was recorded in the studio. The only tracks used on record from the roof concert were I’ve Got A Feeling, Dig A Pony with the first line ‘All I Want Is You’ edited out and One After 909. These 3 were on the Let It Be album. The version of Get Back on the Let It Be album is the studio version with studio talk at the start and the applause from the end of the roof concert edited on to make it seem like a live performance.
Right on. The released version was live in the studio. I find it amazing that anything came from the rooftop performance. Can you imagine playing on an English rooftop in January? Pretty unbelievable really.
@@MarkMikelVideos yeah john george and ringo had to borrow their wives coats it was so cold!
January 27th 1969 was when they performed the album version, with all the dialogue from that same session added into the album
@@shaneskavdahl3638 The day Paul manned up!
Ringo never misses a beat. Awesome drum track.
A fantastic band with a fantastic pianist playing a fantastic song. The amazing and magical collaboration of Billy Preston with the Beatles.
8:56 John and Paul laughing in the final cut!
Here after watching The Beatles Get Back series. Billy Preston deserves the love for what he did for these sessions. But how about Ringo's drumming? He wasn't just keeping 4/4 time for the greatest song writing duo in history. That drum lick is killer.
The way Paul builds the bass line from basically two notes picked rather earnestly and gradually adds the funk as the song goes on.
Watched the show on Disney when it first came out. It is incredible how they showed this song basically be constructed out of thin air.
3:49 This was when I started noticing the bass during a listen of the song. Blew me right away. Man, Paul...
Ringo is the Big Drummer boy.
Agree with you, Ringo was the perfect drummer for the Beatles. In the first albums, the semi opened hi hat of Ringo was the secret weapon.
David A I lefty on a right handed drummer’s set and a right handed guitar with the strings switched over for Paul . you couldn’t make this up.

Wonderful as usual
This is absolutely wonderful!! I live everything about this song. I used to listen to each thing separately by ear, this is so much better
The giggle at 8:58.
05:54 John's Guitar Solo
Macca gets such similar tone from the Hofner vs. the Rickenbacker I almost can't tell the difference between when he uses one vs. the other. John is out of tune with his harmonies here. And yet, somehow, it still works. Those two were a perfect match.
johns vocal was out of tune on so many songs, especially at the end of lines, like he just threw them away , so was Pauls bass, yet somehow it made magic.
@@wagonwheel6420 reminds me of how in a concert band, some players adjust themselves to be a bit out if tune on big chords so it meshes better
@@wagonwheel6420 what songs, for example?
@@mariesyvian8187 Exactly.
Imo it’s is super easy to tell the difference but maybe because of his picking style it sounds the same to you? All I know is that he’s the greatest to ever play bass no doubt
Still amazes me how consistent Paul is with such a goofy voice
Go! Ringo! Go! (Goosebumps).
Thank You for this! I used it to help make my own cover!
Those guys!💕
The bass 🔥
omg this bass!!!!
Another great song qnd hearuny great misic like the guitars on their own. Love the drums too and the vocals too.l billy Preston was amazing.
Thank you!

I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves
And I hope we passed the audition
The EPIC part starts at 11:45
yes 😎
John gets some great honk on that shuffle. Is that all Epiphone Casino w/ P90s into Fender Twins or is there some mixing board / compression in there too?
Anyone know if John messed about with his pickup selector / pickup wiring on the Casino as he'd reportedly done on the Rick325.
I know he had it stripped down but what other mods did he make?
top d mais ++++
And the bass too

This is epic.
There is a rehabilitation of Origen happening right now. He was a 2nd century Christian thinker. Anathematised in the 4th century largely due to one of his major lines of thought, which can be summarised precisely as, “Get back to where you once belonged”.
Very epic.

In the released one, We can hardly hear the left hand part of the keyboard. ..
In the one released on the single board, the ending of Take 19 was connected. And the ending of Take 19 is the ending of the Let It Be movie.
Can i get johns guitar alone if you have it
Great to hear :) except the ending is missing :(
I think the end in the single version was an edit
The bass part sounds like a Ramones song
Es la parte que da personalidad y define la cancion. Tan monótono pero tan certero.
Quien no se de cuenta que el monótono bajo de Paul es el motor central y personalidad de Get Back no esta preparado para este debate.
I wish McCartney would have played the low E instead.

This is great video nice job! But if I may make a comment, it wasn’t isolated as much as I would like but great job!
they are actually the original tracks, I don't think they are poorly insulated
also the tracks are heard like this because the songs were recorded on the roof
@Daniel Miller are some of the songs recorded on the roof one of them is dig a pony only that they cut a part, it is true Get Back was recorded in apple studios since on the roof john and george have many wrong notes
@Daniel Miller I do not understand, I gave you the reason, you because you continue
@@DLD2Music insulated?
is the drum reverb added on or part of the mix?
Its the original mix
reverb is created by hitting other instruments
Why is there disney in the tags in the decsription?
hahaah why no

i think this song was originally released in mono

yes and billy preston die in Scottsdale, Arizona
It's an electric piano, not a piano. Very different.
I tell him in the plural, besides, you are also wrong, it is not in electric piano, it is a fender rhodes
@@DLD2Music It is an electric piano. A Fender Rhodes is an electric piano. Fender Rhodes is the manufacturer and brand name for an electric piano.
@@MichaelPhillipsatGreyOwlStudio Close. Yes it is an electric piano. However, ‘Fender Rhodes” is not the manufacturer and brand name. The manufacturer is Fender and brand name is Fender. Rhodes is the model name of a line of electric pianos. I.e. Rhodes Suitcase, Rhodes Stage, etc. From 1946-1959, it was manufactured by Harold Rhodes, the inventor of it.
@@DLD2Music i said it in plural*
@@DLD2Music "you are also wrong, it is not in electric piano, it is a fender rhodes"
I can't decide what's more terribly stupid, what you wrote or that there were 4 people even dumber and gave this a thumbs up!!
This bassline seems too simple for McCartney.
Yes, its very easy
i mean it does the job. It helps glue everything so i like it.
it goes well with the drums to kind of make them one
The genius of McCartney was that he adapted his bass notes to the feel of the recording. Listen to his exploration of the bass frets on "Lovely Rita", then listen to this. Miles apart. However, there is a subtle throw in of the odd octaves in his rendition here!
Mr. Mc C knows what works .
yikes, bass tuning is wonky.
That’s the best thing lol. Provides that human vibe. It’s the same with I’ve Got A Feeling, which is why I always prefer older music👌🏼
@@_SliK_ I have a 500/1 hofner with rotosound trubass 88's on, looks just like paul, got intonation work done and sounds very much like this with DI. I know paul most likely misplaced his bridge during the Get Back sessions, maybe when restringing it, but it doesn't sound too far off from what its supposed to be
@@_SliK_ Exactly! Nail. On. Head. It gives it that 'human' sound. It fits perfect in the whole, of the track. They just don't make music like this anymore...sadly.
@@_SliK_ agreed. Not only is perfect tuning overrated, it's practically antithesis to exciting music. Perfect tune and perfect timing is a big yawn and probably the main reason no one gets excited about new rock music.
McCartney's said his Hoefners had intonation problems higher up the neck. He got one of them fixed in the 80's.
That bass is out of tune
