Love all the tips! If however, your place work is hot and the heat is blasting I recommend wearing your jeans or pants and then putting snow pants over those in the winter so you can remove the snow pants and not be boiling in the office.

Yes to thermals! There are so many better options for thermals now so we don’t have to settle for those waffle weave, lumberjack-esque looking thermals. We you talked about hearing you mom and auntie’s voice in your head when you put on that short jacket, I could hear my mother saying “Girl, you better put a longer coat over your behind!”

I went out the other night and realised that nothing looks good if you are feeling cold! I’m in NZ & winters are pretty mild a lot of the time so I have never bothered too much with warm winter clothing & wear similar things year round! But there are some days and nights where it is freezing and I realised any bare skin or not wearing warm enough layers is not going to make your night or day out go well & feel enjoyable.

I live in a Colorado mountain town and merino is my go-to for about 8+ months each year, for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and for around the house. Base layers, tights, sweaters, hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, hats/gloves/socks/neck gaiters ….even merino panties! Merino is soft, hypoallergenic, durable, easy care, and naturally anti-microbial, so it doesn’t get stinky. *And* unlike other fibers, it retains much of its insulating qualities even when it’s wet (important when you work up a sweat out on the trail).

Last year I invested in a pair of kneehigh lined leather Boots, in the foot area pure thin wool lining. Such a game changer with small trousers or dresses - I am always on my bike, so I need warm and practical pieces! This year I invested in wool stockings/leggins/socks - also perfect for winter on the bike! One of my best thrift store finds EVER is a Woolrich down parka - waterproof, snuggly warm and chic! I just need a nice warm and chic hat 😊💕🤗

We recently moved back to the Rocky Mountains from the West Coast and becoming the poster-family for Icebreaker merino products is how we are making all our clothes work for cold weather. Well, except boots. There's no wearing the leather-soled, uninsulated boots of December-in-Vancouver where I am now. Thank goodness for Quebec-based stylish + warm boot companies :)

This is probably a taboo subject, but maybe a video on lingerie and balancing hygiene with environmentalism or figuring out how much lingerie you need for your own lifestyle. And things like bras are usually not made of sustainable materials so trying to navigate that on a budget. Buying secondhand lingerie (especially undies) is usually a hygiene problem, so secondhand shopping isn’t usually an option to be sustainable with it. This is all to say that lingerie is probably the aspect of trying to be more sustainable or conscientious that I am most iffy on. It would be interesting to hear your take

Amanda, for many years, I used to have the same problem. It was no big deal to find ethically manufactured slips and panties, even made from organic cotton. But it was absolutely impossible to get my hands on a fitting bra of the same quality, since I am big busted. Thankfully, things have changed. There are so many organic brands out there by now. You will find them with a little bit of research. For example, I love the german brand Erlich Textil and the scandinavian brand Organic Basics. They both have cotton bras which are super comfortable, even in really small or really big sizes. Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀

What a fabulous video! My biggest gripe about living in a climate with cold and snow is the challenge of styling outfits that don't look like the Abominable Snowman that will insure warmth. Ironically, we are seeing unusually warm temps right now (60s and 70s), but I love having this video to inspire the put together looks with the built in warmth.

Amazingly refreshing styling! I live in PA, and in February, no one seems to care about fashion this time of year, especially when Noreaster blizzards blow through. I see people wearing snow pants with parkas, mostly in black. Can barely recognize anyone covered in hats and scarves. People stay home as much as possible. It always seems so ridiculous when we arrive somewhere and have to peel off all the layers, and worse when everything is damp from snow. I hope to incorporate your ideas this winter. Maybe it will keep me from dreaming of springtime too soon.

Looking for a Merino wool or a Cashmere jumper it makes all the difference, they are warm and cling to the body and merino, in particular, does NOT need to be washed as frequently as it somehow absorbs sweat. I am not a big fan of junky scarves because of a large chest and a shortish neck,so I will tuck a silk scarf between me and the elements and button up my coat

This was excellent: My favorite winter staples from Minnesota: Merino tights, fleece lined tights and leggings, over the knee merino socks, silk v-neck cami and for actual snow: mukluks...Also when it gets super cold in the winter I love wearing really bright colors like hot pink, orange, yellow and red. They warm me up spiritually, which sounds cheesy, but it gives me something to get out of bed and get dressed for on those cold, dark below zero mornings...

Good to see someone properly dressed for winter. So many people get sick because they allow themselves to get cold and then the immune system is stressed. I love car coats and bought three. I like that it keeps the wind off my thighs as I walk with my dog, and I think they’re more elevated than a parka.

Hi! I live in Montreal (welcome to our city!) where winter is quite cold and your suggestions are great! May I add that Rudsak duvet coats and Pajar boots have absolutely changed the game for me? I now go out in minus 20-30 celsius sometimes with a teeshirt only under the Rudsak coat and the boots keep me warm no matter the weather. It's actually a pleasure to not have to layer so much clothes anymore! They are expensive but I have had these coat and boots for over 10 years, so well worth it!

I feel this. I deal with Raynaud’s phenomenon and every year it doesn’t matter how much wool and insulation I have on my extremities, I’ll start getting minor frostbite on my toes and fingers within about 5 minutes of being outside. To this day, i have yet to find a way to survive the Kentucky (!!) winter. Hopefully one day I’ll get something figured out (or move to Jamaica) but for now, anything north is a hard no for me and outdoor activities in the winter? HECK NO. I’m staying inside.

I cannot thank you enough for this video. I´ve been following you for a while now and you´ve helped me improve my style and feel better on a daily basis. I just moved to Canada 2 weeks ago (coming from a tropical country) and was completely overwhelmed by all the winter gear and bulky-looking outfits. This video calmed me down soooooo much and changed that feeling of "is this my life now?" to "yay! this is my life now!". Thank you a million times. You really are a life saver. :)

Love the idea of combining jackets, especially a puffer under a wool coat. I never thought of doing that and my wool coat is lovely but sometimes it’s just not warm enough. I think I’ll try it when my son brings his and see if it goes on my wish list.
