He who greeted the royal prince Harry wearing nothing but his South African flagged speedo drawers and offered him a beer (which prince Harry accepted by the way) after beating his country in the finals 2019. Faf is a national treasure. 😂😂😂😂😂
I just wanna say it’s so sick seeing you guys rock with South Africa so much 🇿🇦it’s a beautiful country and I’m glad you brothers are putting it on the map 🤘
3:46 That's a GOAT of moves in the sport. Dragged him down held him up and locked the ball in so he couldn't ground it, absolute perfect example of a player doing defense 🥰🥰🥰
Agreed 100%. the try saving tackle, is the most amazing thing in this video. The tackle Faf did here, the exact way, I've only seen twice in my lifetime. 35 years of playing, refereed and coached rugby, the Faf de Klerk try saving tackle here, was one of those times.
Hi guys Faf is the first choice number 9 (scrumhalf) for the Boks he is the guy who puts the balls into the scrum, he is also the link between the 8 heavier forwards and our backline. A scrumhalf service (pass to the backline) must be crisps and solid to launch attacks. Between him and the number 10 the flyhalf the game plan and direction are implemented. Faf is solid in his passing and kicking a fearless tackler and an attacking force. I enjoy your comments and love of the game. Enjoy the world cup. My son living in N Carolina watches every Springbok game. If you are close by I can link you guys up. He can explain you more about the game. Enjoy the world cup go BOKKE.
Being (relatively) small allow him to sprint and reach the point in which an impromptu scrum is taking place and put back the ball into play at striking speed
@@joeritchie2 Yes, sorry english is not my native language and we use totally different term for game positions and game phases (in this case is all Mischia: FaF is a Mediano di Mischia, Scrum è Mischia Ordinata and Ruck is Mischia Aperta o Di Gioco)
theres actually a "good" range for size. bt the bigger guys typically can't properly tackle the small guys at all.. the small guys have no problem tackling bigger guys cos the targer is much bigger. i would know cos i was a small 13 and my tackle success rate was always above 90% per match, Every match. @mishaguevara im not afrikaaner buddy your talking kak 😂
🇿🇦 🇿🇦As the saying goes: “It is not the size of the dog in the fight that counts, but the fight in the dog that wins" ~Arthur G. Lewis~. And yes Faf still plays, he's an invaluable player for the Springboks.
You guys are awesome. All love here from South Africa. Well in South Africa as soon as a boy starts walking his dad will start teaching him rugby, the school boy rugby in south Africa is biggest in world. So it's basically a religion in south African or New zeelander.
Dangerous things comes in small packages. Faf is the definition for his position, executing his pass as precise as possible. He is a prime example for the spirit of rugby; never shy away from contact in a contact sport. That's why he earns his name among his fellow South Africans, he's fierce & precise on the field, willing to take down any man & dish out twice as much for the opposing team. Thank you for the content, a support for the Springboks is a support for your channel, subscribed, liked & comment, done & done.
Faf De Klerk is actually 5'7 ft and weighs 176 pounds :) So awesome to see you guys taking an interest in the best rugby team in the world :) Proudly SA
More Faf please :). This is a video with more of his tackles - this is like the pitbull taking on buffalos. Video - Faf de Klerk: The South African Pitbull
He is still playing but maybe past his best. The best player in his position now and probably the best player in the world in any positions is the French captain, Antoine Dupont. Same position but they have very different styles of play. France vs South Africa this weekend will be a hell of a game, and one of the few occasions when the Springboks will not be favourites and will play a team that can match them physically.
After decades of rugby as a short guy I've come up with several 'Laws' of being a short rugger. First, play in your comfort zone. Do not stand up to meet them. Make them come down to you. They are not comfortable down where you are at home. Second, be aggressive. When they are a foot taller and 70 or more pounds heavier don't let them get turned upfield and get up a head of steam. Get to them before they can do that.
Faf was on rwc from start to finish dropping down those haculas Goliath Samson caveman mookie he knows his team we love you wake up mookie.🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦😂😂
ik im late to the vid, but as a short number 9 myself he is a massive inspiration, however as an england fan he is ofc a massive annoyance as hes just so good
Damn, they reacting to football and Rugby too this is fire. I have to watch the older rugby videos I just saw that they have done a lot of reactions about rugby.
the significance of just the 1st hit shown, #1 is a prop, generally one of the heaviest players on a team. 1,2,3 are the front of the scrum and are big blokes that are possibly double his weight.
He is a scrum half. He is not directly in the line out but to the side the scrum half puts the ball into the scrum or tries to steal it if it's the opponents scrum. . He is in the 2023 wc team. He plays in most games.
I beg to differ on the smaller guys need to put in double effort. i myself am very small and the bigger they were the easier i got them. if you've watched rugby long enough you'll notice the big boys usually miss most tackles they make on small guys. size isn't everything. its about technique and timing. yes of course tenacity too.
The bloke in the white shirt stay true to african roots come back to the motherland and watch a game😂 the other bloke in his adidas shirt a kiwi enough said. Only 3 Southern Hemisphere teams left in tough games dont care who wins it as long as the coveted trophy stays here in the south pole.

I remember this! It was so funny😂
One thing about Faf, he will wear his SA speedo after winning the world cup! 😂😂
@sandisiwemtolo7586 Faf, is that dude.
Great guy, Faf de Klerk. We love you❤
Go Faf
I just wanna say it’s so sick seeing you guys rock with South Africa so much 🇿🇦it’s a beautiful country and I’m glad you brothers are putting it on the map 🤘
They're looking for numbers
Putting it on the map?? What do you take SA for?

That really was a world-class bit of defense.
Big troublemaker this one😂😂
He still plays for SA. He is one of my sons favourite players. He is a tough player he can take hits and is very good on the field

@@MarcellogoBy “impromptu scrum” it looks like you’re referring to a ruck formed after a tackle/breakdown.

Faf only looks so small because everyone else is so huge, he's actually 5'7 😂

He's actually average for a South African man.
He's 5,8, but playing with men that are up to 6.9, so he out there looking real short.
Love love love from South Africa 🇿🇦 any friend of the Springboks is a friend of mine 💗

Appreciate you family
He helped us win the world cup in 2019 and 2023
He is part of the squad, however he didn't play in the last game ... but I'm sure we'll see him in the quarter finals next week😊
He will become as big as Bakkies Botha himself!
Every size we got has heart in it.
the significance of just the 1st hit shown, #1 is a prop, generally one of the heaviest players on a team. 1,2,3 are the front of the scrum and are big blokes that are possibly double his weight.

Faf is a South African wsy of shortening "Francois" :)
All he needs is to work that kicking game and he'll be good
React to Beauden Barrett, he arguably had the best peak by any other player winning back to back world rugby player of the years
He is about 5 foot 8 or 7....the people he play with and against is 6 foot and up with eben around 7
Faf is pronounced F-U-F (u as in cup).
He met Prince Harry in his South African flag undies 😅
I feel like this is not the best of Faf , guy is active and entertaining to watch
Faf is 5'7" lol
