phil collins has the largest alamo artifact collection out side the alamo itself and donated crockets rifle to the alamo, and was made an honorary texan !
Never let Jan Hooks tell you the basement doesn't exist. Keep the dream alive !
adamthewoo you found Pee Wee's bike in the basement!!!! Lol
adamthewoo tell me if you were to come to the metro Detroit area what would you like to see? I could be your tour guide also love the Carpetbagger in these videos
adamthewoo Keep the dream alive, I can't believe your hanging out with Phil Collins. I've been wanting to meet him for a very long time and have him sign my album covers.
adamthewoo you're supposed to eat Mexican Food in San Antonio, and BBQ in Austin
adamthewoo awesome vlog
Just for reasons of historical accuracy, the iconic hump on the top of the mission was not there during the battle. It was an addition constructed by the U.S. Army, after Texas was granted statehood, so that a sloped roof could be put on rather than the more traditional southwestern flat roof. Just FYI!
So fun family fact from the ol Stogy, I have a distant cousin that's name is on that monument because he was a volunteer. Asa Walker. There is even a street by the Alamo that is named after him, Walker Street. Lot of family history in Texas and I could not be more proud.
You've officially given me San Antonio fever! I miss it and need to return. Great video! I appreciate the hard work you put into your videos. Thank you Adam.
One of your best. Maybe because of a grand subject matter. Awesome Remember The Alamo!!!!! Drag me across that line. Thanks Adam & Jake!
I love the history of it
this is one of the BEST videos on the Alamo...I have always been fascinated with this moment in history and have seen plenty of videos of it... yours was so informative and on point! thank you!
you two young men continue your incredible journey... be safe!
lots of love from Seattle!
i love when you do videos about the Alamo. the Alamo means a lot to me. it represents bravery, honor, and so much more. the john wayne movie is one of my favorites. Marty Robbins did a wonderful song about it as well.
may their souls rest in peace forever. have a wonderful day Adam
BrendanTheGent represents illegal immigrants who did not obey the Mexican border laws and started selling land that did not belonged to them so they got dealt accordingly
Dave Guard vocal and banjo great on Kingston Trio "At Large" album. Listen to Remember the Alamo. Great.
I was born and raised in Houston and still live here and been to San Antonio a million times. I have learned more from you and your video's than I ever knew! Even about Galveston and the other places you went. Thank you so much for your great videos and teaching us about so much!!
Hi Adam, "tuppence" is 2 pence in old English money. So you pay the bird lady "tuppence a bag" for bird feed! Always enjoying your adventures 😃
very cool ! Thanks Emma
Very fascinating vlog! Sometimes you hear names like Davey Crockett and forget that they were real people. Nor did I know the Alamo was that large! Thank you for educating us!
I been to the Alamo as a tourist from Holland. And i will surely remember it! The Riverwalk is awesome, nice food and nice bars with great folks! Awesome vlog that brought back memories! Thank you Adam!
Never surrender. Davy Crockett !
My ancestor John Hutchinson Harry was a member of the Army of the Republic of Texas, 1838 was a Cpt of the Logistics.
Mutlap did the republic of Texas already exist? The defenders in the Alamo didn’t even know about the separation from Mexico.
They say that Davey Crockett killed a bear when he was only three. These days you would have to check with conservation about killing a three year old bear.
I think it was pronounced 'bar' then. The rest of your comment is hilarious!
Another excellent VLOG, Adam (and Jacob). Mucho thanks!
Eveything was so cool. It's like I was there in person with you!! Great vlog Adam! Thanks!
You can feel the spirits in the Sanctuary.
tuppence is english slang for "two pence." each bag of bird seed costs two pence.
tim brooks oh nice comment !
Came to say the same, but rather expected someone to beat me to it. :-)
I was about to say this too!
great comment you beat me to it!
Darn. You beat me too.
Thanks Adam & Jacob for a great trip through time...
Watching today's video brought back some memories for me when I was training at Fort Sam Houston in the 90s as a Combat Medic. When we had weekend pass the first place I went was the Alamo.
I've been to the Alamo I love the city of San Antonio. when I visited a huge parade was going on where they actually had long horns going down the road. best experience ever.
Never surrender.
I am an indirect (collateral) descendant of Davy Crockett. My family is directly descended from Davy's brother Nathan. My father had a family bible that had Davy's handwriting in it (fragments really are readable but faded. My brother has it now. I'm suing him for it (just kidding. Family joke). My dad was a big time history buff, as am I. So I grew up just being fascinated by the story, Davy himself, the bravery and the action. I've been there several times. It's funny but I always meet people that our genuinely related to me, but I've never met. Loved your vid.
Please take some photo's of his handwriting, before it fades altogether!
Good morning Adamthewoo... nothing better than a good vlog to kick off the day... stay majestic!
Hi Adam! I'm new to both your channels but they are now my absolute favorites. I LOVE history and traveling is something I desperately want to do, but can't afford. Thank you so much for your vlogs and other videos. Also thank you for teaching me something I didn't know about the Alamo (actually 2 things -- it's original name and it's actual size).
Safe travels!
always awesome seeing Adam in my town. and Ozzy was banned for 10 years. came back in 92, and played 2 straight nights here.
Ozzie should have never been allowed back in San Antonio. What kind of guy would piss on the cenotaph? Did he ever apologize?
@@lauriej.5706 Ozzy should be Banned from San Antonio for LIFE.
"Can we see the basement" - Pee Wee Herman
There's no basement in the Alamo!
...poor Pee Wee, they laughed at him, but he got his Mojo back in the Biker Bar....oh, wait. ..
R.I.P. Jan Hook
@@Snowwinterie You can see the black mold on the bldg. Reset4 after the mud flood the basements of most bldg. Were mud and water filled.
You are a plethora of facts, Adam; very informative as well as entertaining. Jacob has been a great addition this week.
Hi Adam,
I''m a long time watcher & subscriber of your old channel of abandon places & your new channel TheDailyWoo of rural places people didn't know of or would seek to know that you bring to us watchers everyday...
Just want to say..."Thank you"...!!!!!
I like Adam the Woo's sidekick. Maybe Carpetbagger should be permanent?
Mack James90 or glad he's not at home
Russ Hendrix Please pray for Adam. Sadly he was just in a horrific accident in Large Marge. So far all we know is he broke part of his neck:(
Are you serious?
terrible thing to say! not true i just saw them smh God bless you for saying such a cruel thing about an accident
Spurs Nation At least everyones happy now.lol
To be fair to Ozzy he's probably pissed on himself more than anywhere .
Joe Szabo 😂
Joe Szabo😅
To be fair to Ozzy he's probably pissed on himself more than anywhere.
Joe Szabo Hey, that's Rock-N-Roll baby! 😂🤣👍
Best video yet way to go ADAM
Thank you for reviving my memories of my happy visit toSA and to the Alamo. I went at a time when I was feeling defeated in my life and needed to be reminded that it's the spirit you put into a battle that truly counts, not whether you win or lose.
"Are you the Gate keeper?" No this is Patrick!
Sooo...When I take my Family to the Alamo we will be learning, this is where Adam the Woo stood in the spot where Ozzy stood and where Davy Crockett stood at the Alamo.
You are part of history now! That's pretty awsome.
great video Adam ! You showed me some stuff I did not know about like the resting places of Travis, Crockett, and Bowie as well as the burial of the remains of those burned. Your videos are great and entertaining, much better that what is on TV these days, especially the exhausting news reports of Covid. On to the next video. Thanks
Damn it I didn't know you where still here! In addition you did a great job with the history, thank you.
Adam, this vlog reminds me of an episode of Timeless where they went back in time to The Alamo to try to prevent the war. You should check out that show. They go to different points in American history each episode.
I love that show!
Stephanie Cerce ... Sounds cool, I'm gonna dig into that. Timeless, huh? I'll Google and check out how to find it. Thanks for that
Timeless, or Time Tunnel?
Phil Collins has been avid collector of anything Alamo for years,he's now donated his collection of about 200 artefacts from the Alamo to the state of Texas so they can be displayed at the Alamo.
I love when Jacob is with you for these adventures! He's great!
Great vlog Adam and Jacob!!!
Very interesting facts about the Alamo!!!!
TFS!!!!
in England many years ago tuppence was another word for two pence so for instance feed the birds two pence a bag two pence two pence two pence a bag
ahh ok thanks for the info
I lost it when I realized that was a White Lion impersonation. Lol'd at the Flintstone rib to.
glad you caught that
I really enjoyed this vlog. Thanks Adam.
Ahhh the Alamo and riverwalk. So serene. Thanks for taking me back adam! Those boat tours are pretty neat!
Remember.
Ozzie was welcomed back earlier this year with open arms and San Antonio's local governments tongue firmly in cheek - including a fake arrest warrant and everything, thanks to Ozzie's Son. Ozzy did not want to get near the place...but turns out they forgave him a long time ago. Hey, he's Ozzy!
it all worked out in the end
JamesAllmond and he was wearing woman's pajamas - it must have been a bit odd
Texans love a gregarious drunk. Sam Houston was one himself.
Is it a fact that God looks after children, drunks & Ozzy Osborne ????
That is just TOO cool.
Adam, I am former law enforcement and I lived in Texas and I have been to the Alamo, but I like you historical tours of the Alamo very much. I wish you could do much more. Keep up the good work and give me a call when you come to San Diego and maybe I can assist you on some other related Tours of Old Town which is haunted and one of the oldest settlement in California.
There seems to be a special "theme" in those 185 brave mean against 5,000 to 7,000 Mexican troops which are unbeatable odds, yet those early Americans fought anyway.
I can relate as I am fighting the corrupt Government and I am only one person.....think about those odds...Right?
It makes a Big difference when you are right no matter what.
Too bad you didn;t take a fiber optic camera inside ....?
I think there are many more "Artifacts" that have never been recovered, or that were stolen and just never returned.
Still under contention is the Jim Bowie Knife, referred to as the Moore Bowie recovered by a Mexican soldier.
What a story.
Maybe you can get together with John Fitzen of Fitzen's knives in Utah? He's a really cool guy.
Thank you for this Awesome vlog ! You saved me a trip. Through your lens I've seen it all.
SUCH AN AWESOME VLOG ADAM
What about the tall building next-door they should’ve had their last stand there!
They did get their coffee and newspaper there.
This is what happened at the Alamo: Mexican federal army comes to San Antonio to disarmed armed illegals from the States. After the battle and rout, there laid 253 American insurgents and 60 dead Mexican soldiers who all died in a 30 minute battle. Davy Crockett surrendered to the Mexican soldiery, only to be executed moments later; Travis committed suicide at the north wall when he saw all was lost, and Bowie was hiding under his cot, and was slain in that manner. At least 100 Alamo defenders were killed OUTSIDE of the Alamo compound, as they tried to escape the battle - they were chased by down by Mexican cavalry and killed. A Mexican victory for all time! It's nice to see Texans of all stripes celebrate a Mexican victory every year!
Its so cool to know I've seen those places you went. The Alamo was quite impressive. Thanks Adam, another history lesson, I loved it!! Got my WOO FIX for the day!!!!! Stay safe😀
One of my favorite videos so far! Awesome!
:)
I've been there and it's an awesome two to three day vacation. County Line BBQ is pretty good, but the Mexican food is off the charts great.
Have you ever had people see your phone on the ground and think, "Hey I wonder why someone's phone is sitting there?" :-)
If it were my phone, somebody would kick it for sure.
keep it up. i found your channel while looking at disney videos but its even better than that.
Another awesome vlog. Jake and Adam....
All I know about the Alamo is what I've seen in movies. I assume that the truth is different.
Not that much in the movies is true - funny thing is that the actual events of the entire Alamo battle are more interesting to me. A lot of what is in the Alamo movies is fictionalized but does give a version of reality so whether something is "true" becomes not that critical if you are looking for a broad vision of the story. Some of the same arguments are made about the movie "The Longest Day" - okay, so some of the stuff is not exactly true but it does give a broad impression of what occurred.
Seems like you both enjoyed the snow cups more than the bbq!
🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧
GREAT POST. THANK YOU 😊
Haven't been to the Alamo since 1974. Thanks for the vlog.
You should go find Hank Hill's house wherever it is in Texas. Then you could refill Large Margestics propane tank at Strickland Propane!
Arlen Texas isnt real
Sure it is, it's actually Garland, TX just outside of Dallas.
Jimmy Wilkerson look it up, douche
......Take it outside guys.
Kyle Brumbalow no shit. You obviously werent supposed to take my comment literally but you did anyway. Baffling!
Phil Collins serenade! Love it!
just for you buddy, ha. Hope all is well
Adventures by George m
I am doing great! Stay safe amigo!
Prety good. Prety good. You should go back when they remember the battle. There are reenactors wearing battle related clothes. Then, trek to Goliad and then to San Jacinto, Texas were the Battle of San Jacinto happened. They also reenact the battle. The complete battle scream was, "Remember Goliad and remember the Alamo".
I really thought we were going to see the basement this time. Great vlog!
you have great vlog too
There are two different version of Davy Crockett dying, one is fighting, the other is that he surrendered and was executed.
But it doesn't matter which version you believe, can you imagine a US congressman today giving up their seat and going to physically fighting in a war?
rizon72 Lol, very good point!
Tuppence are actually a form of currency in England
intercity 125 I only said England because that's where Mary Poppins was set
I watch you constantly!!! All I have to say is, Adam you are amazing, smart, funny and I love you!!
Great video of my hometown! Thanks!
Adam has anyone tried to pick your phone up when you are recording from the ground when you arent near it?
once or twice, not actually grabbed it but definitely eyed it with the intent of snagging it
I wast thinking the same thing! I keep waiting to see that at the end of those shots!
COME BACK TO SAN ANTONIO 😭😂
Great vid Adam! You inspired me to make my own vblogs. Thanks man!
That was so interesting Adam, and you guys are so funny! Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
You might say that Teddy Roosevelt asked the roughriders "join me, shall you?" ;)
what was the reason for not being allowed to film? you would think they would want to have people film it.
Debbie Parker
Respect! Kids and adults running around filming literally everything (concerts etc) instead of actually taking in the moment at the time is disrespectful as it shows you're not giving it your whole self. Also inside locations like the Alamo it's distracting to other visitors that may consider it a somber place of reverence. Of course this is just the opinion of some and everything in life is open to interpretation because we all create our own realities!!
Great video, thank you gentlemen.
I have been waiting for this, great vlog! I'm gonna miss you and Jacob as a team when he goes back home, it's been so much fun =)
Hope everyone is having a great day! ❤
I actually spat out my drink when Adam said "you almost fell into the water trying to pet a duck-"
And Jacob screams "it was a pigeon!!"
So freakin funny 😂😂😂
I always enjoy your adventures and I enjoy when you are with The Carpetbagger! You two always give me a chuckle...you two make my day.
I love the last min of the view. I love it when you guys do that. That shot alone is Majestic.
Security... Don't you mean Barney Fife? Remember the Alamo! A shame that filming isn't allowed inside the Alamo. Also I wonder what the death flag looked like? Black flag perhaps? Awesome vlog Adam!
I dont think he was an actual security guard just answering questions and such.
It was a solid red flag and the musicians played Deguello . . . a flag and song used to indicate "no quarter".
The gentleman at the door is a tour/info guide (where to park ur car, where to go eat, wat time does the Alamo close, ect.). The security wear Cowboy hats. And the Alamo is scared ground in the highest degree, on a scale of 1-10, the Alamo is like a 40. You remove your hats when you enter. Hope this helps.
B Caldwell actually the person seen when the "security" disclaimer was mentioned was a tour guide. The Ranger guards are well dressed armed fit personnel above " barney fife".
also out of respect
@@double00shotgun
But did you find out if there's really a basement?
"there is no basement" actually there are 2......
Adam one of the best in a while, great job guys!
Some of your daily vlogs (such as this one) seems more like an AdamtheWoo channel vlog. Great work once again. :)
You know I've been reading, "Rich Dad Poor Dad" just to see some advice, and there is a great example of failure is with Texas. Even when Texan's fail they fail big, but don't worry they remember it! That was interesting to me.
Phil Collins actually donated his entire collection to the Alamo itself. Very amazing.
pretty amazing, I was hoping to see it
The snow cup scene was perfect! I expect an entire video on that to pop up shortly. You guys are hilarious!
I wonder just how haunted The Alamo is. I love your videos. They are all i watch on CZcams. I love and appreciate what you do!
Why do I find the shots of you guys just standing there acting nonchalant so funny ?? but I do !
we were just enjoying the snow cones

That second bread looks like cornbread. I have heard some in the south add sugar to the batter to sweeten it up.
I thought the sweet cornbread was Yankee cornbread.
Keep history thriving Adam!!!!!!!
Thank you Adam and Jacob for yet another awesome video. I had no clue the Alamo stretched further on out. I always learn something new after watching your videos. 😇🤗😘
Never move the Alamo Cenotaph !!
why would they expose the bones of the tomb for public to see? Seems kinda gruesome but I guess it was the early 1930's
The Headless Horseman people also used to do family photos with the dead family in Victorian era. It looks creepy with the whole family there with the corpse propped up between them
People now are scared of death and try to avoid it, people were more understanding and did not think death was a taboo subject back then
Most of the bodies were burned by Santa Anna, spread them all over the plaza. The monument there is called a cenotaph, means empty tomb.
Awesome video.
Adam Great Vlog :-) as Always
Anyone from here me included. Yes
12:33...hidden Mickey??? hee hee
Great eye! that shot at 12:33 is hilarious!
Great work Adam, and Jacob. This was a very interesting and entertaining vlog about San Antonio and specifically the historic Alamo, which is sacred ground. The history was well told with reverence, and the comic parts of Adam and Jacob the Carpetbagger singing was quite funny. It’s great to see how much fun you are both having! Cheers!
Loving your work. !!!
