    I run a similar class quad the iFlight Titan XL V3 and I get about four and a half minutes minimum on a Rline 1400mah 6s, and 6 and a half minutes of cruising with a few short punches. I basically just buy any quad with the vista system or the air unit that looks good to me. I have seven so far and two goggles. Oh yes and ramen is my favorite food...lol

    How about mounting this 1550 pack underneath? Most people r doing this with that way, and it seems the center of gravity moves down with the batery pack lower, easier to pilot then?

    Thank you very much for the review. I just got this drone and waiting for a receiver to get it going. Could you tell me if you took any time to try to tune out those oscillations? it should be noted that this drone no longer includes the GoPro hero 7 mount in their packages but still includes the amount for GoPro sessions as of August. They have a 3D print for the GoPro hero 8 on their website. It looks pretty robust too. Thanks again for the fair and honest review.

    @exclusiveaerials Před 3 lety

    Thanks Ed for the review. I have the same issue with oscillation on high throttle. I've tried the Gemfan 51477R props with it and it's not better, actually worse. My Sector 5 v3 HD came with a zeus 48A 4in1 BL_S ESC instead of the 60A BL32. I bought from Banggood and was quite disappointed with this without telling me. I've contacted HGLRC and they said they ran out of the 60A BL32 ESC.
    I've tried tuning the quad following Chris Rosser's clips on filtering and PID tuning, as well as Bardwell's and UAVTech's tips, but no luck just yet.
    Has anyone actually had any luck getting rid of the oscillation? Please let me know!

    Hey Ed, amazing videos! Trying to get into this FPV hobby, and even though I have 200+ hours in sims behind me, and flying my little Beta85x HD, this will be my first 5". Soo excited! Would you be able to recommend my first 5" by any chance? I am considering iFlight Nazgul5 HD (4s), Diatone Roma F5 HD or HGLRC Sector 5 V3 Dji. Any preference and what's the reasoning behind it? Thank you so much in advance!

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  Před 4 lety

      Yup, at least we have the option to take it off if we want. In this case, the Sector 5 v3 is the same price as the more barebones v2, so I don't feel like they're charging more for these 3D printed additions.

    Would you recommend the 4s or 6s version of this drone? I want to do some freestyle and have long ish flight time. I’ve been looking at the 6s with 6s 1300mah batteries.

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  Před 4 lety +1

      I've always liked 6s, been running 6s for probably 18 months now at least. With this quad, you will probably get decent flight time with the 1300. I was using 1550 and the quad felt pretty heavy. I think 1300 may be the sweet spot.

    • @JakeMasseyFilms
      @JakeMasseyFilms Před 4 lety

      Ed Ricker any idea of how long flight time would be with the 6s 1300mah battery if I’m flying slowly ? 5mins maybe?

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  Před 4 lety +1

      @@JakeMasseyFilms My 1550mah was getting around 5 minutes, maybe 5:30 if I was really flying slow and easy. However, I had a fullsize GoPro 7 on it as well...so if you cut out the GoPro and use a 1300mah, I think you'd have similar flight times.

    I almost upchucked watching this video. Do you 'kids' even use the word upchuck anymore? I have no idea how you can control the drone that well, and I can't imagine that I will ever learn it. I'll fly my little Mavic Air 2 for fun, and maybe $ - but watching your videos is really, really fun. Really though, how the hell do you get that good at flying one of these? I think I know, but I don't have that much time I think. * one more edit * quote "Not going to push my limits with this quad" - I'm not sure you have any limits. But it is rather expensive for this genre, imho. I'll keep watching your vids though, they blow my small mind.

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  Před 4 lety

      Haha thanks for the comment, yes it's a lot of time practicing and a lot of time/money spent fixing this that break in crashes as well haha! I wish I still enjoyed my intelligent GPS DJI drones as much as I used to, but FPV is really where my heart is at now.

  • @e5m956
    @e5m956 Před 3 lety

    So in other words, if I already have a DJI FPV Drone and want to get a more custom drone, skip this one, it's nearly the same thing...

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  Před 3 lety +1

      DJI FPV drone is in a whole different category, and it makes a lot of compromises in order to include some Mavic-like features. They're both in the FPV drone realm, but the Sector 5 is entirely user serviceable, the batteries are a 5th of the price, and you can use any radio/goggles you want. Those 3 points are true for pretty much any FPV drone too except for the DJI FPV drone.
      If you already have the DJI FPV drone, then that means you have the DJI FPV Remote Controller V2, which right now can't be used with any other FPV drone. Same with those $160 DJI FPV batteries, the charger, the replacement plan, the props, etc. Quite a frustrating fact right there, and it makes it very difficult to justify LEAVING the DJI FPV ecosystem after you've sunk so much money into it.
