Well yeah when you’ve a mansion on wheels RV life is dang cool. Just not for those on mountain roads, anywhere really, stuck behind you. If you need all that maybe staying home is your best option. Lame.
I guess, if you're into watching someone pack their RV and show you every little boring detail. This has almost nothing to do with travel, I think your praise is a little overrated.
With bigger travel trailers the back ends up being the roughest area when going down the road. We move our monitors and electronics to the front bedroom when traveling down the road. And move it back to the rear office when we get to camp. Never had a problem with anything traveling on the front bed.
Roger that. We beat up our bikes and the rack they were on during our first two week trip in our previous TT. Much movement and everything needed tightening. Now we use a robust tray rack on this trailer. Inside the bed is the safest spot for sensitive stuff. Never seems to move.
Tough start. Reminds me of the first time in our Coleman pop up 27 years ago. Forgot pullups for our toddler (rushed run into a small town at 10 p.m.), doing dishes after a sloppy joes supper when the sink drain hose broke off, and a rail switching yard just across the river with trains clanking and banging all night. Next day the dog's collar broke and off she went. Still at it, though. Off on a two week adventure in our latest 27' travel trailer in June. The older kids are still enjoying that now vintage pop up. On the computer after 2 years I have learned to bungie them to the sides of the cabinets and the floor using 2 cords and 4 eye screws. Now they don't move at all. welcome back to the road. Hope to meet you out there.
Regarding your closet: narrower hangers work better. They give you more room for more clothes. I have the ones with velvet on them. They are a pain to put your clothes on. But, nothing falls off while traveling. Enjoy your adventures.
I use gaming laptops in our rig so we can put them in a drawer for travel. I actually take the monitors down (quick release arms) and put them on the bed. The bedroom in ours is in the front and basically is magic where nothing ever moves. Never had a problem. I was in asheville about the same time as you, the asheville east KOA is pretty badass campground btw. In the back you can park 3 ft from the water.

I was going to mention about the rest of the trailer being the bounciest area, but someone already brought it up. You two will figure out what works best. BTW like the new F150. Enjoy!
Just wanted to let you know on your refrigerator when you’re plugged into your truck your truck will charge the batteries. Also if you are plugged into 110 or 30 amp or 50 amp your converter will be powered up which will charge up your batteries.
I'm glad everything worked out in the end, but also glad that you took us along for the mishaps. Maybe there needs to a "padded" cabinet for storing the equipment or bungee cords that connect the under the desk on the floor.
One thing I never seem to find with full time RVers is the process that you went through before deciding to become full time RVers along with buying the equipment you need. Such as a truck and your RV. As a family in our early 50's, we are looking to get started. I already own a 2020 RAM 1500 setup to tow. We'd not be able to jump right into a high end RV. I get that full time RVers might be selling their home to finance their new life style. Would love to learn more about your process and prep.
dont forget to weight it after loaded. it does have a weight capacity for a reason. Lots of newbies forget or ignore. Hate for y'all to be stranded on side of road. I mean highland is not a bad place to be stranded, BUT...lol.. just wanted to remind you as i watched yall pack and pack ...also when space becomes issues, trash the tots and get collapsible containers.. safe travels look forward to see more vids of your journey.
Most trailers have a 3 way Refrigerator in Them.it will run on propane or Electric and for backup battery.on the front of Your refrigerator there is a switch to put on the different settings. Be safe in your travels.
There is a great shop in Elkhart Indiana, called Axle inc. that is all they do. The tech is very knowledgeable, and will have you in and out in short time. Make sure too make the appointment ahead of time, and the replacement axles will be waiting for you. Depending on how heavy the trailer is and wheel clearance, you should be able to install 7000 lbs axles or better. I have 8000 lb axles on my rig at 18000 lbs and it handles the road conditions very well. Also discount tire carries a Hartland series tire that is 14 ply steel. It also makes a great difference. That computer area needs to be dismantled before you leave for your travels, put in a lg basket (soft or fabric) and slide under desk. Put towels in between the screens and game system. Good luck on your travels and many safe journeys….
The PC will now be in the vehicle when in motion but everything else holds very steady. Our monitors are bungee tight to the desk (with thick towels to keep them from bouncing). Thank you regardless!
Place your gopro inside your trailer while you are driving and when you see how violent it can get you will understand why this type of stuff should be secured more properly.
Back of the camper is the bounciest. A better move would be to put computers up on the bed in the front and they would ride much better. That is why you never want a rear kitchen RV.

First suggestion is get all your clothes and shoes out and divide in half, must haves and not must haves. Take the must haves and divide in half again. Must must haves and not. Keep the must must haves and leave all the others behind

I'm a Master certified RV tech for 30 years. and lived in a RV full time for 15 years. I own my own independent RV repair shop People like this have no buisness full time RVing period. Everyone that full times needs to own one and use it recreationaly for a minimum of 5 years before full timing just to learn all the ins and outs of RVing Plus how to work on them because no RV is designed for 365 day live in use they are designed for weekends and occasionally longer trips a few times a year so repairs and maintenance are a way of life that you need to do yourself. First mistake is they bought a lightweight camper thats the worst camper you can buy for full timing. they are flimsy to cut down on weight. it will not last. they are not well insulated for year round use, they should have bought a fifth wheel because most travel trailers are not suitable for what they are doing , the heavier it it the better quality it is. second mistake they painted those pressboard cabinets with what I call a paper coating (again lightweight, cheap, crappy construction) . It looks good now but in a year or so depending on climate that paint will cause that paper coating to wrinkle, the glue to lose cohesion and start peeling. I have seen it many times and you start stripping that pressboard they just fall to pieces. if those cabinets where meant to be painted then the manufacturers would have painted them instead of the paper coating. I owned RVs for years before I went full time and never meant to make a career out of working on the but because I had previous experience using RVs recreationaly beforehand I knew how often they required repairs and how much even back then it cost to have dealerships repair them and how long it took. I didn't want my home sitting God know how long on a dealers service lot waiting on parts and repairs while I'm paying and living in a hotel. I did what what all responsible full time RV owners should do before becoming full timers. I went to Florida and spent 2 months (its 3 months now) going to RV tech school to get my basic RV tech certification so I had the knowledge to repair most problems myself as they occurred and only had to depend on dealerships for parts. Also started doing work for my neighbors and making at campgrounds. Everyone wants to be lazy and take shortcuts. instead of taking the correct steps. I bet neither one of them could run a piece of pex water line if one burst. and I bet they don't carry any proper tools in there camper either. But I make a lot of money of people like this who do stuff without thinking or taking the proper steps. It just makes it hard for us real RVers to get campspots because these RVer want to be's who in 3 months will have sold their camper and will never spend another night in a RV again are clogging up all the campgrounds.

We are having fun and doing what WE want to do, even if its not the proper thing to do. As for a fifth wheel, we didn't want one because it didn't make sense for us. get a sonar panel , so you can run the fridge , mine came with. didn't think i would need it . but, now i love it.
Two sided velco tape to hold your stuff on desk. Use commercial grade hook N loop!

Your not the only ones. We usually bounce a few things out of cabinets on rough roads also. Oh by the way, like the truck!!

Georgia has some of the worst RR Xings I have ever had the displeasure of crashing over. Even the bridge transitions are like ski jumps on I-95.

This fridge is 12v only so no 3-way like our last trailer unfortunately
If you have a 12 volt fridge which it should be when you’re plugged into shore power the electric converts to 12 volt.
Go to flat felt covered hangers and double your space,and the clothes don’t slide off.
Guys from a 6 year fulltimer, upgrade you suspension. There are several options available. The roads only get worst.

I put things that are fragile, monitor, computer, printer, and the ceramic heaters, on the bed for travel.
I hope you go to a "cat" scale and weigh your trailer and truck with all fluids full like, water, gat, & etc.
