@@SavageAirguns northeast ohio where I am is also very beautiful, I'm literally feet away from lake Erie (out my front door and a shot walk), that's how close I am. I grew up here on the lake, and in this general cleveland area (I'm in the suburbs to the east of cleveland), lake Erie is just part of our upbringing, we are just used to it, then sometimes I think, how big these great lakes are and how much fresh water they supply.
But I'm giving all this up to move to beautiful west virginia in appalachia

Welcome to West Virginia 🙏. Most of us who are country folk are kind, just be sure not to be walking on others property, not tolerated. Most people are good neighbors and are willing to give a hand without being all up in your space. And our winters are not to bad. State roads are usually tended to when it snows but county roads might not be see a plow for a few days. We just prepare for the winter. Oh and don’t let your dog chase deer. The hunters don’t like it. I have lived in the eastern panhandle all my life and I’m 45 minuets away from the nearest Walmart. Love it❤️

Beautiful property. Clay soil can be amended. You have to work in leaves, grass, coffee grinds and top soil. Restaurants and coffee spots will save their grinds for gardner's if you give them a container and come pick them up regularly. A friend of ours who has clay soil mixes leaves and cut grass in a 55 gallon trash can then uses his weed wacker inside it to shred it. Then he adds the soil and coffee grinds and mixes it with a shovel. This mix gets worked in the garden plot along with composted vegetables and manure. This resolved the bad soil. He refreshes it over the winter and keeps about 8 inches deep of amended soil and can grow everything.

That's a great idea using a weed wacker to chop up veg 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5 NA4wd Rally Car & spare shell!
      -Registered & ARA logbooked
-Car was caged by Doug Davenport of Davenport Racing
      -Rust free shell
      - Stock 2.5 swap / 5spd from an earlier car (2006ish i’m guessing)
      -4.44 gears
      -Tilton pedal cluster
-All new brakes in 2021 (stock small ones)
      -Hydro handbrake
      -2.1 ratio steering quickner
      -Collapsible steering shaft
      -Sparco Wheel
-Pyrotect Elite halo’d seats with Sparco mounts new in ‘21
-HDPE underbody protection before LSPR ‘23
-Primitive front skid and rear diff skid
-KSport Gravel Suspension, along with 1 pair of Monroe rears, 2 pairs of KYB fronts with King springs (good Sno* set up)
      -Lexan windows
-Streetwise fire suppression (bottle needs recertification - i’ll send it in for you. Expires every 2 years)
-5 15” Team Dynamics wheels (5 events old)
      -4 no name 15” wheels
-4 16” aluminum Subaru wheels with tubed Haka’s (1 sno* race on them, including a spare mounted on a 16” steelie)
-All steel braided brake & fuel lines throughout the car
      -Rugged Radio comms
      The bad:
Rear subframe took a good hit on the suspension mount. Could heat and bend straight or replace whole rear sub from included parts car
-Does not include any lights. Lights were a loan from a sponsor. Light mounts will stay
      -Needs general clean up
-Belts are expired (we always used $100 Crow Safety belts. I can order two new sets or you can put your preferred brand in)
-Wiring sucks & could use simplification
      Other parts included:
-Parts diff (has 2 chipped ring gear teeth - we ran for two events like that)
      -Clutch
      -Window sliders
-4 MRF Tires with one event (weather checked)
      -Misc other parts laying around
-Complete 2009 rust free roller shell, missing - one door, diffs, front clip. Good windshield, arms, etc.
      -Stilo comms unit
Overall a great starter car. Surprisingly quick in the right hands with a:
      •2nd place regional NA4 @ ‘23 Sno*Drift
      •1st in AWD light / 2nd overall @ ‘23 NASA Hardwood
      •3rd place regional NA4 @ ‘23 LSPR.
•5 events and zero DNF’s. Deadass reliable, takes the hits and asks for more. Never been off / rolled / hit. Clean rallyfax 😉 Car would be great with a suspension upgrade (the suspension is the big weak point)
      $17k for everything above 🤟🏼
Car is located in Skandia Mi, just a few miles south of Marquette Mi.

It took 2 wks to find flat enough!! LOL! Sandy loam soil, but raised beds fixed that problem. Our winter was cold for us, 1 snow fall 4"s gone in 3 days. Good thing because we cant get home at all when its slick, so we stay home. DIL gets a hotel room in town, sometimes work pays for it. If we did a do over, we would be 10 miles further out with better soil and grass.

The reason I'm asking is I'm sort of in the same boat, here in the Ozarks, looking for the right land and then starting a small homestead. Plus I'm over 60, so some challenges there too. Many channels seem to be saying "it's too late if you're just moving now. You will run out of time before the economy crashes," etc. Wondering your thoughts on that. Thanks. Please don't laugh at them over their winter. Nothing we hate more than Yankees moving South & telling us how to do things or laughing at is for complaining about snow. Remember that most southern towns don't stock tons of salt to spread on roads for snow & ice. Just be nice.

Great video! I have been seriously considering looking for land in West Virginia for a retirement property. Currently living in Massachusetts but absolutely love the country and outdoors. The laid back lifestyle where neighbors actually look after each other has the appeal of the old days that I like. Any areas of the state you could recommend that are cheap but also not 40 miles from doctors, hospitals, etc? Again, Great video👍

If you don’t have a rifle adequate for deer, get one! Venison is delicious, especially canned. Can’t beat chicken fried venison steak. Also, get a shotgun for furred and feathered game. Squirrel is on of the most delicious game animals on the planet! Harvest and put up all the game you’re allowed to. It’s the prepper way!

I think you picked the best spot really. The states SC, TN, GA that are South of you are way to hot and they are having an influx of people. Less population is better on so many levels. Nuclear radiation was something I have thought of also.

Hope and pray you make it. At least you are trying to wake people up. But even you do not know even half of the truth you need to know to make it through what is coming. Only a small number of people (bible calls them the "remnant") will make it through what is coming...but don't listen to me...I am some crazy Bible believer.

If you are happy there. That is all that matters. I am in TN and yes, people have moved here by the droves BUT they are moving as close as possible to the cities. Nashville and the surrounding metropolis, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Cookeville and of course the Gatlinburg/Sevierville area. (not as much tho) You described everything TN is. There is still affordable property and the prices have fallen very quickly but still kind of high.. Much higher than 2 years ago. The boom has dropped off some. Hubby was born and raised here. I am 25 miles from any serious stores, 13 miles from the small town which offers just about nothing. I am 10 miles from a Dollar General and a gas station. You better be a prepper to live here and not be anti gun. There is coyotes, bear, cougar, Bob cats, and the usual small predators including flying ones. We have 3 Sheriff Deputy's during the day and only 1 at night so people better get used to firearms. Our Republican Governor Bill Lee is fast with aid when it's needed. Nothing like Beshear in KY. (Democrat) Those people are still suffering with very little help yet.
