    It just occurred to me seeing the angles of the sun damage on the clock: Somebody kept that clock either sitting in a windowsill or on a stand with the back to the window. They were probably using it as an actual clock for their bedroom. Somehow, that makes me oddly happy, knowing it was actually loved and used. Knowing that it probably helped some little kid get ready for school on time or know when to call friends. (Ah, the days of landline phones and proper "don't call between these hours" etiquette . . .) The clock is still my favorite because that blue color is so rare from girls toys from the 90s, and the fact that it isn't just a toy but is also a function clock is such a neat idea that you just don't see anymore.

      So true! It MUST have been on a dresser in the sun. "No phone calls after 6pm! They're eating dinner and going to bed!"

    Your original retrobrighting video was what brought me to your channel, and even though I have 0 interest in poly pockets, I've stuck around because your joy and enthusiasm is infectious, and watching your videos makes me feel some of that. Thank you for all you do!

    You could ask Kerchie on how to restore the logos! It's not the same technique you mention here but she makes them look fantastic. Great video btw :D

      Thank you! I'm not a fan of the stickers - I am going for the original finish. Good news is I've figured out how that was done! I'll be showing it in a video in a few weeks.

    Hey Holly! Here a new polly collector! Your videos are great! Im thinking I might do some retrobrite this summer I hear you said, be careful as you can get too far. Do you know what will it happened? Just scared the sun can be too strong a times! Thanks ♡

      Awesome! Welcome to the community :) Yes, the colour becomes cloudy/blotchy if it's over retro-brited

    Woow this videos are really helpful! I was wondering how to fix the light system in some Polly pocket playsets (like the dinner party)✨🥺🙏

    You can try using a humidity chamber with a pyrex w/a lid. Soak some paper towels, place them on the lid, put the compacts inside, then seal. We use this at the lab all the time and it usually stays for 48 hrs at 37 C.

    since these are, for the most part, not very big, it wouldn't be difficult to create a UV "chamber" to retrobright in for times when the sun decides to not play along. there are bound to be a few videos out there, and UV LED strips can be found inexpensively on amazon. it would be even easier since you aren't using liquid, just the gel. i just wanted to put this idea out there - you don't have to do it, but i thought it might be good to mention it.

    anyone here know how to open the front glass part? I need to clean the inside of the clock, and I can't figured out how to open it safely... I just bought it a week ago and tried to restore the corrosion of battery part, also clean the whole clock, it's dusty inside :(

    Hi!! I know this video is pretty old, but i wanted to ask, does this work on my little Pony G4s? I have a pretty badly sun damaged luna, and everyone i asked told me it can't be fixed.

  • @DreamItCraftIt
    @DreamItCraftIt Před 3 lety

    I wonder of this would work on sun damaged stickers in the compacts 🤔 I might try on a tiny tiny inconspicuous area 😂

    • @Jess-the-Witch
      @Jess-the-Witch Před 2 lety

      I'm probably too late to say this but: Noooo! Retrobriting is only for hard plastics. It would almost definately ruin a sticker, as any liquid or gel would. I hope you find another way of fixing sun-bleached stickers x

    It’s not a good idea using metal in hydrogen peroxide
