Tim... you really should learn ASL if you have that desire in your heart. I started college classes for ASL in my 40's. I took up to level 5...I also took Deaf Culture (super important), finger spelling, conversational ASL and an interpreter class. I have been interpreting at my Church for years now. It is so rewarding. We have a very small deaf community...they are thrilled when I can communicate with them.
