I remember watching this live at EVO and since i didn't play the game me and my friend were like WTF D: I mean i know its the correct way to play the matchup but its still lame that somehow it ended up like this...lol..
what were they talking about no giants in mvc3? of course there wont be guys like that but hulk is in it and him juggernaut and sentinel are all similar in size so i dont know what he meant. i want some juggs in mvc3 personally.
@xOmniCloudx - I know this post is way old, but I feel like saying it regardless. The key to fighting giants isn't to avoid trading blows, but to pick the opportunities that most disadvantage a giant and to milk it good. Pure runaway is one way to do this, but when that falters (and it CAN), keeping your cool is very important. However, direct confrontation against a giant is perfectly fine IF you're smart. Seriously though, Psychochronic's PTX in this video is only okay.
The sad part is not the giants here. The sad parts are the players who refused to learn the match up (READ: Not "didn't", "refused"), the lack of general knowledge about match-ups against giants (hint: runaway isn't totally necessary if you're smart), and occasionally the giant players who just aren't that great.
FYI, giants do NOT control the pace of a match against a team. It's the opposite. Giants have to go to the team. A smart giant user knows despite their super armor, they cannot use it as a crutch against a SMART player. Damage is damage, and unless your opponent's dumb enough to blindly assault a giant, a giant user CARES about getting hit. It's sad really. Giant play really isn't "good advertisement" for the game. HOWEVER, ignorance damaged this game's rep, not giants.
@Luigirocks84 There's no real other way to fight Giants. No smart person is going to trade blows. Giants ruin the flow of the game and change it completely. They should be banned from tourneys.

I can respect your opinion man. But not many agree. The giant matches were HATED at EVO by most the players and the crowd.

They should never have allowed giants. Marn told them he would do this if they allowed em.
