I thought the sound effects were fucking horrible. the enemy grunts and the slashes were so bad at times they were undistinguishable.
Yeah they need to improve the sound effects. But still looking like an amazing game.
I'm pretty sure those are placeholders dude. I think they want to finish the story and graphics so then they can move onto the sound effects and soundtrack.
oh for sure, this is like DMC however it could use some unqiue gameplay features to set it apart and better sound effects. has some great potential needs a little passion and effort. right now it REAALLy looks like Alpha DMC. needs to set itself apart.
yeah, sound effects could use some work. noticeable from the start of the demo when he lands, and the sound effect of the landing takes a while to come out. Mind you, the game looks fancy otherwise. I won't say more cause then i'mma get bashed for being a critic. Also, I don't wanna sound like a critic cause is a small team, but the problems do need to be known.

To be honest this game it's a really huge inspiration. It's incredible to see how LSA started as a little idea made by one person with the unreal engine to a game being programmed by a studio. This motivates me (and I guess others one) to don't find the idea of make videogames really that impossible and don't give up in the way.

Small studio. He barely had enough personnel to be able to delegate some jobs, but he is still on the helm. This game is hugely inspiring for all of us who grew up with devil May Cry and tried game development. I was beginning to think only Platinum would be able to keep the genre going but this is looking quite good. Also, the control scheme makes me think there'll be a Dodge offset.

Thanks for the info. That sounds better. It's just that I prefer a pace where the players is usualy forced to defend himself frequently, or at least forced to space out actually aggressive enemies.

You’re so right, and the funny thing is how humble the creator is. He tweeted that FFXV was far above his game LSA.... which I really like FFXV in concept and the gameplay was cool but seemed off in some spots. Also the hack n slash element in this is my favorite type of fast paced action.

black matt thigh length coat, muted protagonist spikes, main weapon is a long sword, dash in dash out tactics, silver accents and pendant, supermove in the form of a pet/companion, focus on crystals, faded backgrounds with simple text.............i dont know man i see alot of similarities.
Aaand they ripped off bloodborne where the boss has a stage two transformation (more specifically when Ludwig the Accursed stands on his hind legs and begins to use a sword instead of his primal attacks.)

Gameplay and visuals are great, but the soundtrack and sound effects needs some more work so to can fit in the atmosphere of the game. So far amazing

White Jester I think these may just be temporary placeholders while the game gets finalized. Then they enter the polishing stage and add in all the sound related features that they really want, hopefully some originally composed soundtracks too since that'd definitely get the attention of people.

Looks amazing. Combos looks great. Move move for the boss character looked limited at first until he transformed. My only bad thought about it so far is the sounds. If the sound effects and stuff are improved it's easily a 10/10 off glance
MaCanikel yeah these are just stock sound effects for the demo. It'll obviously be mixed for the full game. And this is just a demo boss that might not even be in the main game, so it's not gonna have a super complex moveset or anything. The demo is meant to be easy for people to play anyways

Rain yes some moves are similar, but it's not completely copied, it just took inspiration from the game abit, along with devil may cry. Id say he used similar mechanics from devil may cry, but made it better, which isn't a bad thing

I LOVE how smooth it all looks. I remember watching the first rough trailer a long time ago and didn’t expect it to get THIS polished. Looks faster than even DMC4. Speaking of, it’s kinda funny that the sword moveset in this literally has Dante’s Drive and other attacks on it, but fit so well into this game regardless. I’ve been waiting years for this and I’m willing to wait even more years for this to finish.

Assassin Reeves it was originally a one man project for the first 2 years, but then after he released a trailer for the game in 2016, gaming companies wanted to pick him up and make the game a reality. And he ended up choosing Sony to partner with and now he has a small team of his own to work with

Even if this game were made by a large team, I'd say this is still an incredible quality. The only issue I really saw in the whole thing were a couple of moments where the boss seemed to float a little in its animations but even that wasn't as bad as some AAA games have it, so honestly one person has done better work than most big companies have ever done, absolutely amazing work, it looks really, really fun, the combat looks varied enough to not feel repetitive without being too complex that it seems difficult to even do all the things in the game.
Really looking forward to this being released, looks like a strange mix of a Souls-like, Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy XV.

oh you mean the physics, yeh that's a pretty complex thing.....setting up boundaries so the boss doesnt phase through objects is very hard to do.........but they could fix it

I sense Devil may Cry, Ninja Gaiden with the charge up & Shinobi ( night shade) ps2 game with the constant after image dash. Bayonetta with the charge and the dragon turnt into like a Huge spiral. 5:09 when his sword collided with the Boss isnt that the same shot from Nero vs Burial (dmc4)

I know this game is in early development and the final product will be 100 time better but if you accept and read C&C, the sound effect seems very repetitive. At some moment, i saw some interpenetration with the boss and the floor. However, this game look very beautiful and im very impressed it was done only by you Bing Yang. So far so good, love the graphics & animations. But, SFX really need some improvements. Also need real combos & mix ups especially for fast action focus combat. Maybe adding perfect timing system for speeds up stamina recovery isn't bad either (like Nioh). Elemental & crits system also recommend especially with that beautiful effects. So many potentials here.
Croz Raven no freaking stamina bars please, thats something that only slows down the overall tempo of combat and it doesnt have much of a place in a hack n slash.
I do agree that the gameplay could always use more and more depth tho.

The dodge gauge is stamina mate (just like Witcher 3), it's just applicable with perfect timing system so the gauge could recover more faster (like Nioh). Jeez. Watch the gameplay first then comment ...
Croz Raven why would you want a stamina bar in a hack and slash? Can you imagine DMC or Bayonetta with a stamina gauge? Takes the hacking and slashing right out of it

omg dude, watch the freaking video gameplay. the demo has already got stamina gauge (top left second bar) which I would guess is for dodge. What I propose is perfect timing system with the dodges so that bar recovered a lot more faster, exactly like witch time (bayonetta, mgrr, Nier automata) + ki recovery (Nioh).
Basically you dodge perfectly from the attacks, that "stamina" or whatever that second bar gauge is will recover much faster. Is it too complicated to understand?

The first trailer came out way back in 2017. At the time it was being developed by one person and even this whole sequence we see here would've been made by that one person alone. I think 2 years ago Sony have the man a team and a 100,000 dollar budget. This is planning to be released end of this year or beginning of next year.

OMG I remember when this wasn't even in alpha testing, and even then I wanted this game!! I can't believe it's actually a thing now!!! So happy this indie developer got the support he needed to continue making this game. Will definitely be getting this day one!!!

This is absolutely incredible. If there’s one criticism I have, it’s that sometimes it hard to see what’s going on because it’s sonfast. Other than that, excelent work!

All About Smashing I think my problem is with the sound, the scene where the monster was turning around the sound it makes when he puts his hand on the ground sounds a bit low quality
Maybe remove the blur effect, just maybe it looks cleaner. but yea i like the speed of the game like ninja gaiden
Gotta get used to it. Faster the pace the more heart pumping it gets.
