- The reason I waited out Super Sonic near the end is because if you are super while the little cutscene at the end plays out, Sonic will miss the plane and fall to his doom.

I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever when I played this game when I was young, but it meant only one thing, you were in for the meat grinder of the Death Egg zone. I never did beat Robotnik in that, always got so close. Must try again in future.

The best thing about this level was the transition from the sky into outer space. A perfect transition entrance into the Death Egg.
Yes just like Sonic 3 & Knuckles when we are in Sky Sanctuary and after into outer space in the another Death Egg or the same to Sonic 2 😁

It works the same way Wing Fortress actually flying. It just does. This is a series about a morbidly obese man fighting a super sonic blue hedgehog. It makes as much sense as you think it would.

This is one of the best classic games out there. Also the most epic. I mean, you follow Robotnik into space and onto the Death Egg, where you then fight the Death Egg Robot. Once you defeat that, you run out of the exploding Death Egg and get saved by Tails, or you float by him, with a Genesis cover of "Sweet Dreams" by Dreams Come True. The only other game that can compare to being this epic is Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Super Sonic can jump on the plane at the end of the level, I think you just don't have to hit or hold down any buttons on the controller and you'll be fine.

This level is way too easy I mean when I frist bet this game took me a while to find a good strategy to beat now it's a cakewalk haven't played with knuckles yet but we shall see about that

if you play it right you can get super sonic without cheats as early as emerald hill zone 2 just before the first robotick boss.

There are 7 lamp posts within the first 2 stages of emerald hill zone. get them all and succeeding in getting each emerald then by the time you are ready to face robotnick just get 50 rings and boom you have super sonic.
Emerald Hill is specifically designed for you to turn into SuperSonic and it is also the start of Westside Island, which is Tails' hometown☆Just like the Sonic movie that's coming out next year,Tails is in that too☆

lol for real? Of the 3 main Genesis games, this was probably my most despised zone.
Mine too☆Its really hard with Super Sonic because one wrong move and u fall down☆There is a part in Wing Fortress where there is like a side step thingy and its black and u gotta move really quick before they disappear and if they disappear you will fall down and u lose a life in the stage☆Also at 2:29 if u miss grabbing the hook u can fall down and lose a life☆There is a life at the bottom part before u go to Robotnik and its really hard to get without losing a life☆

@@obsoletepoc7050 Metropolis is a bit tough, but the boss there is more tedious than difficult. Unless you have Super Sonic by this point I find Wing Fortress boss to be WAY harder.
The Sandopolis ghosts used to scare me as a kid but the stage is over-long if anything.

Anyway, when you enter the Death Egg Zone, your rings go to 0.
You can have 100 rings at the end of the Wing Fortress Zone, but at the moment that you enter Death Egg Zone, your rings go to 0, to difficult the boss.
It doesn't really matter because you're going into the Death Egg with zero rings.
