  • Another client project from earlier this year. The amazing team at Red Shade Studios designed these rings for their clients and trusted us to turn them into metal.

    I want to make an engagement ring in my own. The process you’re showing seems to be one of the best options. Could you estimate how much money / what equipment is necessary to do one ring on my own? Thank you ❤

      We have a recommended list of tools on our website.
      clearmindcasting.com/pages/recommended-tool-list
      Unless you have time on your side and can slowly pick up tools second hand you are going to be looking at several thousand to do this properly.
      I would recommend partnering with a studio that will do the casting for you and will allow you to borrow tools. Unless you plan to make a business out of it later on. (because resale of the tools can be super slow, if you aren't planning to keep them long term).

    What material and printer type did you use? Resin printer maybe for better definition? Thank you. I was thinking this method could work and then I saw this short!! Perfect

      We’ve tested over 30 different resins and 6+ printers. Resin and printer combo depends on workflow. I think for this one we used Bluecast XOne on the Prusa SL1S

    Question; why didn't you use the Kerr Electro Melt for this casting? I am trying to decide between getting an automatic melting machine or getting a melting torch etc. For context, I will be casting with gold and silver for all my castings

    • @ClearMindJewellery
      @ClearMindJewellery  Před 3 měsíci +3

      It’s a quantity thing. Doing two rings isn’t enough to break out the melter in our perspective. We have both the 3kg and 1kg melter, usually used for bronze and sterling silver.

      Lost wax casting & lost resin casting can be done at a home studio or in a garage however it takes some work to setup properly.

      @RemixKingMusic Před rokem +1

      I’m pretty sure that you need to put the resin wax casting in a furnace till the wax all burns away then you pour your metal in it

  • @CHRIS_MORELLI
    @CHRIS_MORELLI Před měsícem

    So is the wax covered in the metal?

    • @ClearMindJewellery
      @ClearMindJewellery  Před měsícem

      No. It gets burned away and the metal then fills the open cavity

    • @ClearMindJewellery
      @ClearMindJewellery  Před 2 měsíci

      Cracking could be a number of factors from inappropriate mixing, inappropriate amount of water, inappropriate burnout, or inappropriate placement of the items inside your flask. Or Improper calibration of the kiln itself if you haven’t checked it in a while and you’ve replaced any parts.
