- The CIT Hymn
The CIT Hymn embodies the noble spirit and fine traditions fo CIT. It was composed by Engr. Leon Magbanua when he was still a student and during his term as the Editor of the Technician, the then official student publication. It was an adaptation from the official hymn of the Purdue University of Indiana, USA where one of the moving spirits behind the institution, Engr. Jose Cavan graduated. It was from his inspiration and encouragement that the CIT Hymn came about. Mr. Floro Abadia, one-time BandMaster of CIT, did later arrangement of the Hymn into a choir rendition.
The hymn was first published in the first issue of the The Residuum in 1948 and was first sung on the first graduation exercise of 1948. As a symbol of loyalty and belongingness, the school hymn is sung with due respect expressive of one's esteem and regard for his Alma Mater.
I
All hail, maroon and gold
Thy colors unfold
O'er loyal Technologians
Whose hearts are strong and bold
II
All hail, maroon and gold
On breezes ye sail
Thy sight we love
All hail, all hail!
III
All hail, maroon and gold
To thee we shall cling
Through all the years and ages
Thy praises we will sing
IV
All hail, maroon and gold
Thy Strength ne'er shall fail
For thee we'll die
All hail, all hail!
