How Self-Confidence Contributes to a Successful Career: Golden Conversations

Building self-confidence through work experiences takes time, and that’s okay. It's the journey, relationships and the situations you go through that give you the confidence you need to be successful.
In this Golden Conversation, ASU student Joe sits down with his supervisor, Rik Boberg, outside of the ASU Art Museum on the Tempe campus. Rik hired Joe as a student designer when he was a first-year student. The two discuss how confidence in themselves, their work and each other grew over the past three years - sharing insightful stories about how life and career experiences build confidence that can lead graduates to landing their first job after college or making an unexpected career shift down the line.
Joe credits his time in college for giving him the confidence and ability to make independent choices that serve his best interest. He’s confident in his major, confident in his career choice and confident he can pick a different path if his interests change.
