  • Today I am sharing a bit from my post-fallopian tube removal surgery appointment, something unusual with my incision and an ovulation test. It is sort of an odd feeling of my body moving forward so quickly after this whole ordeal!

I had a salpingectomy at 13 due to ovarian torsion. So while I can’t empathize with your entire experience and situation, I understand some of your pain Maggie. I know right now you are focusing on healing in all ways and not on fertility or future pregnancy. However, for anyone who is concerned following an ovary removal, pregnancy is very possible. My mom had one of hers removed as well and had four children.

So glad to see you in good spirits! Hoping you are up for doing a live sometime soon. I have somehow missed the last few lives. I am sure you are tired of seeing my comments but I am really wanting to talk with someone who has been through some of what I have. I was recently FINALLY diagnosed with IBD. Features of both Crohn’s & UC. I’ve known for a while now that anastomosis wasn’t a good option for me & was planned for a proctocolectomy, peristomal hernia repair, & a re-site of my stoma to the left side of my belly because the hernia is so big 😢 on 3/26. A new specialist wanted 1 more test so my surgery got postponed. They scheduled it for 5/21 to have a date on the schedule. Well, after my test last week the exact thing I thought would happen did. They are now booked all the way out past my current appt. I learned that today and am SO HEARTBROKEN 💔. I produce so much mucus and have had a ton of bleeding. Lots of pain, colitis throughout my colon, my hernia is painful & pushing out on my stoma causing so much pressure & my stoma is swollen most of the time. I would love to be able to talk to someone post proctocolectomy for some positive thoughts & things to look forward to. Again super happy to see you in good spirits!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Bruno reminds me of our Bailey Boy. Separation Anxiety √ Pulls things into his cage to eat √ In Bailey's case, it was a full-size soft blanket that we use to cover the cage at night. He managed to eat a whole section (plus holes). We didn't know at first but did notice he was not eating right and would get sick more than usual. He finally (almost a week later) regurgitated the blanket that had been taking up space in his stomach. We could easily identify it because he doesn't always fully chew his food and the blanket looked like an octopus ... he had shredded part of it before swallowing it .

When I had my MC, my obgyn team was so atrocious, after the 5th blood draw to see if my levels were coming down, as soon as it was below 100, I flat out told them I wasn't coming back and that they were fired as my drs. Immediately got a different dr.
I have so much medical PTSD from them, ill never try to get pregnant again.
Fyi, I tested positive daily on ovulation tests for 5 months after the MC... With those exact same tests... So take the results with a grain of salt.

Maggie, this is totally off topic, but just fyi I have the Worlds worst allergies and Flonase has been a Godsend to me! I hate taking pills so this is just amazing! I have nasal allergies so bad and the pollen and ragweed kill me this time of year. Also Fall time is really bad! You may already know about it but it really does work. I only have to use it a few times a week now that it's in my system. It's so much better than taking antihistamines orally and feeling tired and cranky. If you haven't tried it I hope you will. It's a miracle for us allergy sufferers! Hugs and prayers!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤

Hi Maggie, Keep the faith that you will one day be there for those weekly pregnancy checks in that sonogram room then at your OB appointments throughout the trimesters. The one thing that has become apparent from this unfortunate experience is that your eggs and Zack's swimmers are great and from the experience of that little one hanging in there for so long fighting against the injections. You seem to be an excellent candidate for IVF. I know it's soon to be thinking about it, but just figured it's something for you to consider. You have been so strong through this experience. You can do it. 🙂 Good Luck!

It wont be for a littke bit, but this too shall pass! My OBGYN put it to me this way, the ovary kinda floats next to your uterus and it can form a new connection. The younger you are, the better your odds, so you definitely still have plenty of time, hope, and so much love! Good luck to you, I hope your future pregnancy(ies) is as easy and wonderful as possible ❤

Many of you may know Mama Doctor Jones (here on YT aswell) she explained that one fallopian tube does not mean 50% decrease in chance. The other tube jumps in so to speak. there are still eggs in there getting ready every month and since none of them can come from the removed side more of the remaining side are reacting. So yeah there is a decrease but not as drastic. i mean i even dare to say that there is one less chance for an ectopic pregnancy since there wont be any residual tissue or scarring that could lead the egg again to nest there.

For any of the doctors or specialists I have to see I have to book an ultrasound appointment to get blood drawn with the ultrasound showing them where my veins are. My doctors and I got annoyed at the number of times that I would have to be poked in order to get any blood out and then the pathology people still couldn't get any blood out.
The ultrasound showed that I have thick and extra stretchy vein walls and that unless the needle goes in at a certain angle my vein will move away from the tip of the needle. Now I have to go to another specialist to get a formal diagnosis but we suspect that I will be diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome, the hypermobility type, as I have many of the symptoms (joints, skin, veins, etc).
You might want to ask for an ultrasound to find out why they have trouble getting blood out of you.
Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot
