  • Today we're mounting a 205/60R15 tire on a 15x10 wheel without using a tire machine, mostly because I don't own a tire machine (yet) I know Stretched tires are a love it or hate it topic and some people get up in arms about it, but it's all just for fun so lets keep it civil.

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před 2 lety +1

      Not really. There are some commercial units available that do the same thing for less than I could bring something like that to market for. Not to mention the market for something like this is growing smaller all the time with less people working on their own cars. This is actually a modified design based on and old 50's model bead breaker a buddy of mine has.

  • @nottoshabi779
    @nottoshabi779 Před rokem +1

    I have a question about your front alignment. How did you deal with the camber issue when you lowered the truck? With such wide tires and the truck being so low are you chewing your inner front tires?

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před rokem

      Yeah I mean there is some extra wear associated with the camber but I spent a lot of time with toe plates and got the toe dead nuts on and it really hasn't shown any shoulder wear. I also don't drive this but maybe 6-8,000 miles a year and rotate the tires and change the oil every spring so may be wearing to some extent but not bad enough to see it.

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před rokem

      Also I added additional camber shims (quite a few at that) to help not destroy the fenders as bad and correct the caster angle so it self centers the steering wheel better. If you had a less aggressive wheel you wouldn't have to add as much camber.

    • @nottoshabi779
      @nottoshabi779 Před rokem +1

      What are toe plates?

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před rokem +1

      @nottoshabi779 These are the ones I have (basically the cheapest ones on amazon) amzn.to/3MxEnVc you put one plate on each wheel and measure across them on the front and back of the tire. If the front number is bigger than the back number you have toe out and will wear the inside shoulder of your tire, if the back number is bigger you have toe in and will wear the outside shoulder of the tire. These are more expensive sive but have a pic of using them on a red BMW amzn.to/3ODNsOX

    What is your drop set up? 3" in front and back? Truck looks badass

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před 2 lety

      Probably closer to 4" but to be honest I never measured stock height. Cut springs in the front (not ideal) and blocks and leaf spring clamps in the rear (also not ideal). Its not much of a driver more just for car meets and shenanigans.

    How much tire pressure are in your tires by chance? I have 15x10s and I’m at 36 but I think there’s too much

    • @BCDriven
      @BCDriven  Před 2 lety +1

      I run about 34. 36 should be fine, you just dont want to go too low on the stretched tires because of the chance of them de-beading

      I may do a short video of the Christmas parade, since we're dressing the truck up and putting it in, otherwise it's kind of on standby waiting until I have a shop to work on it in. The 22r is tired from all the long road trips (definitely not from the burnouts) and I want to swap something fuel injected into it for reliability/ more power. Also hoping to do IRS at some point down the road as well. When I get to that point I'll be posting much more regularly on the truck.

    Just do simple things like shortening your diff, roll the inside of your guards and correct offset to fit inside your guards without looking like a hill Billy pickup truck lol. Look how much the tyre sticks outside your quater. Any wonder you have to stretch the tyre like a dingbat to make it work 🤣🤣
