You all really appreciated and liked the last isometric design tutorial in Illustrator, and so today I have a second design, this time we make our very own house using the isometric style and method. I did try and turn the technique of making an isometric grid or shape an automated action, but Illustrator doesn’t utilise the height values as a percentage, rather a fixed height. So it needs to be done manually.

Here's an isometric video that uses gradients and textures: czcams.com/video/M2-4-URRYn8/video.html
Ok so I have to make an isometric drawing for a class, where we had access to a tutorial that you otherwise had to pay money for if I wasn’t a student. It was confusing garbage, but this is so much better and actually FREE. thank you much for this.
Thanks for the feedback, and glad that I could help!
Felt like you paid college just to get a degree.
So literally, buying a degree
@@sirbachelorboredmen1314 there’s some classes that are very helpful and worth doing, but yeah, basically 🫠
The isometric style was one of my first passions when starting with illustrator back in the days, but it always seemed like a very advanced style to follow - but this video made it so clear and simple to not just follow along but to make anything in the isometric style. Thank you so much for sharing Satori, I will go back to it once again after all this years for sure after watching this
To avoid endless switches between contour and fill just set your isometric grid to Multiply mode and place it OVER the scene in a separate level.
@@SatoriGraphics you're welcome, i learned some tricks from you as well. Your channel is very useful! Thanks!
Agreed, first thing I did. 😃
@@shadowofthemoon9195 Damn, deleted their reply.
Good trick if a static image is the goal but this doesn't translate well to other programs like After Effects
what really helped for me is putting the grid on top of all the layers and occasionally hiding it. that way I don't have to fill and un-fill the shapes. btw awesome tutorial!
Isometric design is always fun...Thanks for sharing this :D
@@SatoriGraphics That's so true, it looks much more difficult than it is!
I guess isometric illustrations is just going to grow bigger in 2019. Looks cool, to be honest, I'm working on mastering this trend. You helped a lot! Thanks!
Awesome video! This is a great example of what I’m looking to learn. Love to see more video of how to make different things!
For the record: if you use object->transformation->scale you can have a percentage in an illustrator action.
Also, thank you for this great tutorial!
You saved me from biting my elbows
these look really aesthetic, great work ! : D
that was pretty darn nifty, never knew what that grid option was for. Always made my own with squares and such which took forever. So easy to follow!!
IF you're wondering like me, what's with the most specific 57.74% thing, it's the rounded value for tan(30deg) which is 0.57735... apparently. In isometric projection, it seems that the grid (corner) itself takes 120 degrees, which leaves both sides equally 30 degrees each on a flat horizontal line. I probably didn't explain it superb, so search for "isometric projection" if you want to read in detail!
this is by far the chillest and clearest AI tut I've ever seen. mad props, I'm about to fire up my computer n implement
Amazing! You make it sound simple, but the end result is so wonderful! 🤩
And it's not sorcery, it's technology! ✨🧙♂️👨💻✨
Really love this! Super helpful tutorial, thanks!
OMG THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, I WAS LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT TERM OF THIS DESIGN AND I FOUND YOUR VIDEO. I WAS ON FIRE SINCE I HAVE TO DO THIS FOR FINAL EXAM IN TYPOGRAPHY

Thanks, most people don't know the difference between and speedart and a tutorial, but not muh man Satori.
Adding slight gradients also gives a cool effect! Even if its on another top layer

To create an isometric grid, I find having 3 vertical line grid and rotate one by 60º and another 120º be much easier and precise.
Woudefull Satory! I love
This was sick thank you!!! 🙏🏽
Great tute. Got my basics down. Thanks.
That was amazing, thanks bro!

I love how designers have unilaterally decided that there is no need for the Perspective tools in Illustrator. WE DO IT LIVE!

Lovely tutorial! Such accuracy in building something so difficult sometimes. Loved the trick with the Transform setting.

Once again very useful. So often with AI its what you know that eases the process of implementing ideas. Thanks for sharing.

easy with nice result.
thanks formake this tutorial
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍
That little instrumental in the background is the jam.
lol thank you
thank you. your video is very helpful
Hi,
thanks so much for your tutorials! I really enjoy how you always focus on a particular feature, or effect and show the many different uses of it. To me, that's so much more useful than "how to design precisely x" when it comes to actually applying what you've learned in your own projects :)
And btw your voice is nice to listen to.
A tutorial on the rectangle grid happens to be just what I needed :D
About the design in this video, however, I've been wondering if the table shadows are really accurate this way? Because while the table top area certainly crosses the borders of the floor shadow's area, the table itself is not actually standing underneath the top floor, at least not to the extent the shadow would suggest. Just thinking..:)
But wonderful tutorial, as usual. I'm so happy to have found your channel! Keep up the good work, I'll definitely stay tuned.. =)
Awesome work! Would love to see more videos like this. Just wondered at the end of the video when you had the two houses side by side @13:04 did you put some sort of overlay over the top?
thx for you tutorial master satori, really helpful for me
And thanks for the comment!
Great bro

Pure gold brother !!
