Even as an Indian cricket fan, I'm absolutely thrilled watching Joe Root's incredible performance today! His innings showcased true grit, determination, and a relentless spirit to stay at the crease. And he's still going strong... a class act!
Class is permanent
Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent❤❤❤
What a player he is "Sir Joe Root" love watch him batting ❤ Love from Pakistan 🫶
not a sir yet.
@@ootcurse bcuz of his age ig ur saying? i donot see any other reason...
@@ootcurse For me he is a lagend "Sir Joe Root"

What a comeback!
Wonderful innings from the modern master that is Joe Root. I wonder how much he was inspired by Kane Williamson of recent (7 centuries in 7 tests) and how he has scored big of late. Or how much he was just inspired to play his natural game, play the situation, and build in the way that suits him so well for Test cricket. Root is at his best when he keeps the scoreboard ticking over and he plays his enormous range of shots at the right time. It's great to see him back in the runs. If he can somehow kick on to 150 and manage the tail, could be a match winning innings.
@@Nothing-kr5hnspot on!
What Happened to BAZBALL🎉🎉😅😅😅
Personally I think he's our best ever "Batsman"
Finally end of Bazz ball and Root returns to proper test format batting.
It really isn’t the end of Bazball. This is just how Root is supposed to play in a Bazball high-risk setup.
Only 1-2 players should play bazball, others should stick to proper test cricket
@@hp5732this is a difficult pitch. U can't play aggressive cricket. Its very difficult
@@Nothing-kr5hn None of them are good enough at that game. Only Root.
@@tanmayjoshi4127 That’s not strictly true. Some counter-attacking cricket is useful.
Bairstow and Crawley showed that. However, I do agree that you do need more Root and Foakes-types innings on this pitch.
At 112/5 Bazball would be 150 all out. Kudos to Root to drill some sense in the proceedings.
We wouldn’t of made it to 112 before bazball. Stop knocking a workin method
Greatest batsman of this generation for England 💯💯💯
Let 🐐 root according to his way. 🙏🏾
I am happy for Joe who actually played the way he used to play 3 yrs back. He always puts huge price on his wicket.
This is what everyone said root should do. Let everyone else play bazball and root can stay in the game and play cleverly, it suits him way more
The others don't bat like Root today because they are not good enough. They would all rack up tons like this if they could.
@@simonjess8471 yeah that’s what I’m saying bazball definitely suits others more I just don’t think it suits root he’s became one of the best test batsman by playing the way he played today, seemed odd trying to change the way he played. Other batsman should play around root not the other way
That is because he batted like Joe root not Brendon Mac.

See.. as I said in the last but one vlog that root should play his original game and viola! Today he looked like my old fav Joe Root❤❤❤
Love Nass!
Our best
That’s what I call “entertainment”. Graft , patience and skill . Well played Joe Root and Let’s not forget Foakes 👏👏
❤❤❤ lovely’s 😊
YOu are a real GOAT naseer who talks about the greatness of root
Oh, come on now, it’s just Nasser😂
There's been a lot of noise around Root's recent lack of form, but that's all it really is - a bad run of form.
Like so many other players before him he's tried to force his way back into form with big shots but ultimately it feels like he's realised the age-old lesson that the best way to get back into the runs is to go back to basics. An incredibly important knock built on hard work and skill - well batted!
Nasser's Photographs on the wall are nice, interesting choice of Photographs, very 'Essex' I reckon.
There was no Bhumra.
Mouse at play when the cat is away.
Dude that man has 10 centuries against India...its not that bumrah wasnt present in the previous 9...so do your research and yes that cat got trashed in every icc tournaments..remember that😊😂
Seemingly. He has changed gears, he is less likely to be Bumrah's bunny.
He has 10 centuries and 10 half centuries vs India in 29 matches. At least 20 of those involved Bumrah( India tour of 18 and 21, England tour of 21 and 24), so I think he is pretty efficient in tackling him.
@@Satyabrata-rf4byEpic and logical reply.
Said it before . Rooty needs to be allowed to play his own game . Great batsman and a wonderful human !
Great to see the steeny toughless back in Root’s eyes
Joe root masterclass. He was looking assured from the get go. Pure class
suddenly pitch doesn't change, it is this kind of batting that gets you big scores in india . steven smith did the same in 2017 series. You got to have good defence and adaptability skills to succeed in india.
What a knock! On that pitch under such pressure...one of the best knocks in the entire series!
On that pitch?? What
It isnt even close hes one of rhe greatest ever
Root A Class apart and my fav batsman outside india.
Sir Alastair cook is England's greatest batter because he has got centuries in Australia India new Zealand and got runs in every country
Agreed!
Hope joe root gets runs in Australia, its the only major test playing country he struggled..
I think COOK and Root are the best, they are on par, because Cook struggled in Sa, & Nz where root is brilliant..
Sa is the country where most of the greats struggled...
I really value a touring batter's performance in Sa most..
Yes the stats say that but prime Gooch another Essex boy like Hussain and Cook (and Cooks mentor) was truly immense - some of his innings against a prime West Indies fast bowling attack were simply out of this world - for a few years I even had the feeling once you got Gooch out you were into the tail - harsh and probably not very fair lol
Root averages higher and in some cases much higher against more opponents
@@julianhodgson1961agreed. His 154 not out against the West Indies at Headingley in 1991 was one of the best innings I've ever seen. Plus if we didn't have Gooch in the 1993 Ashes series, we would have been in even bigger trouble than we actually were!!
Wait for upcoming legend jaiswall batting 😊
one of the best inning of Joe root..
I stated a week or two earlier that Root is the greatest ever English batter I have seen since I started following test cricket from late sixties and today's innings has strengthened my surmise.
it was treat to watch and root was sensible today had england played “bazball” you would see indian batters at the stumps. I hope england come out of the bubble of arrogance but it was good cricket to watch.
Power of Indian that change the system of England team 🇮🇳
It's best innings looking at de pitch.
Mashallah
250+ might genuinely be a good score on this pitch
If Root would've played like this from the beginning he would've had atleast 3 centuries by now hope he continues to play like this in the remaining 3 innings hoping to see two more centuries from him in this series
Must have been a great innings to watch, if only not was on Sky which I have with my expensive subscription.
Joe Root ....a class act...hits 31st ton...marvellous...I hope Root will go beyond Punter's tally of 41 by the time he finishes his career...
Watch out for a mammoth double ton from Root tomorrow.
Joe root is a class act , all for assertive approach in tests which Australia and india do it but English team really gets carried away with the bazball thingy !
For me he is the greatest English test batsman...he can bat like bazball way and also can bat in the traditional way...
Incredible what you can do when you put the reverse double backwards ramp shot away.
Joe root is a classic text book style of batsman. Form issues won't impact much for root. Commit the art of batting
He is up there . Id say goochie
Change of gear by Rooty is admirable. Be Rooted to your game.
In India, Win TOSS - Win Test - Bazball is NOT 4 ROOT. Joe shud play sensible & be the calm eye in centre of Storm Bazball. (A great pizza needs a great base as well as tasty toppings)
That is Ken Barrington....for me
If india had the plan to prepare rank turner with uneven bounce and relatively slow , then why was axar benched .
The pitch is not a rank Turner, yes it has little bit of turn but it is slow
Generally Ranchi good batting wicket
Aree , this is not rank turner
This isn't a ragger.
Already have 3 spinners, no one plays with 4 spinners
It's always says that form is temporary and class is permanent root
He is. And he is one of the best in the world. Love ya Joe. ❤
He made9000 runs before Bazball he never should’ve stopped playing his own game
Rooty ❤
That's the correct way root should try to stick at one end while other with low defensive skills Crawley duckett bairstow pope can go bang bang from other end
I think Bumrah's absence helped Root today. He was getting out to him a lot. Nevertheless a class century from a class batter
Cook is England's greatest batter. Winning series in both Australia and India and playing major role in them is no joke . Root hasn't even scored 💯; in Australia
😂😂😂just last test entire English media criticism about root now Greatest batsman 😅😅😅
came back to factory settings
The conditions and the pitch dictate the pace and tempo of an innings.Bazball on flat tracks to take the game to the opposition is okay, but on tricky pitches like this you have to graft for runs in your first innings.
Maybe they never took the new ball knowing/thinking taking it tomorrow - slightly colder conditions it moves better, best series in ages! Toss a coin who takes it!
Root needs to play rootball. Bazball is just a name. Excellent player
Adjust another 6 to 70 runs are required or England going to win this test match quite comfy. Hence I am quite sure these days match England gonna win or England gonna win for sure absolutely great hundred by root please make another hundred. I’m quite pretty sure we win this test match.
Joe time and again proves why he is the best batsman england has produced probably in 10-15 years
MUCH more than 10-15 years
Finally normal batting by Root, please please just bat normal!! That’s all that’s needed! 👏🏻
Joe was just so controlled and didn’t look under pressure from the surface played the ball late against the spinners and played syraught.
Root is class
RIP bazball in this series.
170-0 was fantastic 😭
No 93000
I just wish AATA could be Fantastic.
No 8-0 is 😂
Say Tata to atta
"Root's route is staying rooted with Root."
Wonderful innings but was lucky to be saved on 16 by 3rd umpire's blind eye hitting pad first
Greatest English batsman
That’s more like it! Don’t ever want to see Root attempting ‘Bazball’. Leave that to others. Quite possibly Englands greatest, alongside Hammond
He’s scored plenty of hundreds playing “bazball” and he will again in the future. Today he played to the conditions
root got away today because of absence of bumrah . Anyways i told it last week and i would say again pack em bazball , pack em english cricket
Englands best batsman this century with pietersen 2nd and cook 3rd (just my opinion)
I'd be interested to find out eventually what happened with Joe Root. Why he changed his game so much when he'd been one of the best players in the world but then changed into something he wasn't. It's really hard to say 'best ever' 'when you've got people like Denis Compton and Len Hutton, but in terms of mastery across all formats, then I don't think England has anyone who could touch him.
As Naseer said Pre Baz ball ave 50 ...bazball AVE 51 ......now tell me why getting a higher average was turning into something he wasn't 🤔
@@DNW28You can't take an average over 18 months and compare it to his career average over the previous decade. What a dumb point to make. If you're going to use stats in that way the very most you can say in your favour is that they are irrelevant. We know that he had a proven method over a long span of time, that trumps any short-term success. And he wasn't getting out playing stupid shots pre-Bazball.
Perhaps knowing there's no Bumrah in this test gave Root a calm approach Nasser?
I don't get the criticism on the pitch... It was a great pitch
Now England reaches 300 plus why aren't they complaining about the pitch 😮
Common sense prevailed..
Bazball ruined his batting recently, he settled and played with a 50 strike rate..
51 with bazball is for few tests..
He's 49 for most of his tests....
Play for the situation...
No need to prove bazball is correct
Well said Nasser. There has been a whole load of nonsense said and overreaction to what happened last week. I’m glad someone has finally pointed out that Root’s Bazball record is at least a match for his pre-Bazball record (actually slightly better).
Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hammond...
JOE ROOT is great player no doubt hoe SKY SPORTS CRICKET make a video less than 1 hour, before loosing previous match video came after 1 day, it's utter shame to UK and SKY...
What a stupid conversation. He is de facto England's best ever batsman and has been for years.
The only reason Root stands out as a Test batsman in this era is because of the number of matches he has played to score much more Test runs with a good average of 49. But I wouldn't call him the "Greatest ever England batsman" as I can't see him making even the top 5 of England's all-time test batsman. Top 25 greatest England Test batsman ever:
1. Jack Hobbs
2. Wally Hammond
3. Ken Barrington
4. Len Hutton
5. Herbert Sutcliffe
6. Geoff Boycott
7. Joe Root
8. Denis Compton
9. Kevin Pieterson
10. Alaister Cook
11. Patsy Hendren
12. Eddie Paynter
13. David Gower
14. Ranjisinhji
15. Peter May
16. Ted Dexter
17. Graham Gooch
18. Colin Cowdrey
19. Graham Thorpe
20. Duleepsinhji
21. Phil Mead
22. Dennis Amiss
23. Tom Graveney
24. Jonathan Trott
25. Joe Hardstaff
Yorkshire and England best every
India after lunch expecting to keep bybtge word that it's Bazball till we die😄 India leaving with a moral victory.
Bazzball Shot down
That’s the way to play , when thing for sure India has put full stop to their Bazwal , take that home and play their not in India ,play classic game
Joe Root is the Best Test Batsmen of this Generation, hands down
He never even made the icc test team of the decade smith Williamson and kohli are all superior players
A masterclass from Root.. albeit after a bit long gap. But better late than never. It was a pleasure to watch indeed. Now please put those Baz or whatever ball in dustbin and play your own game. You are a great player among a bunch of mediocre journeymen. Both your coach as well as captain average around 35 and are nowhere close to you. So please don't get influenced by them
It's a bit much to call them journeymen. They are inconsistent and Root is a class above all of them, but they are gifted players in their own right. If you seriously think Stokes is a journeyman then I don't know what to say.
Sorry to disappoint you but look at his average.. rather the average of all the batters in your test team. Everyone is around 35. Do you think thats a decent average? And for that incredible innings in Edgbaston, there are so many miserable failures. Take this test for example. We were 171-7 and ended up at 296. And then England is 137-8 now. Do you think thats good cricket and good captaincy? I have followed test cricket for 4 decades now and this bazball side is the most overhyped brouhaha I've ever seen. Scrap bazball and play sensibly
@@sougatamukherjee5298They had to try something different because playing sensibly wasn't working, we were losing to everyone. Averages don't tell the whole story. Jadeja only averages slightly more than Stokes and Stokes has many more hundreds. Duckett averages mid-forties. Some players take longer to find their feet which brings down their average.
@@jshaers96 - well while we speak its 145-9 now 😀
Its upto England board whether they want to continue with this approach and the captain. If they do, more miseries awaiting, at least against India and Australia..
Edit - 145 all out.. wonderful achievement of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and the nth instance of collapse which this team has achieved 😀
No, that would be Alastair Cook and KP, but Root has proved today that Bhandball is unworthy of Test cricket and Joe Root
Bumrah not playing this test should also get credit for root's century..😅
Why doesn't Nasser accept that Bazball is not for Root??
There is no harm in accepting that he was wrong
As an Indian fan, seeing Joe Root play against India, I’d prefer him to stick to baseball. We can’t be sick again about those daddy hundreds he used to score against us in the past.
Had Root got out to a good ball or run out, and England collapsed later to
Without BUMRAH, Root is back in his element…. Thats the honest truth
