The old pump is 200 times better than the new one, so if it not faulty don't change it. After market parts are rubbish and you will be replacing it again in 2 years after the original lasted 15 years. I did this and after the "new" pump failed I put back the original pump and it is still running perfectly. 😑

Yes. The whole damn pump costs about $3 more. You save $3 for all this work. You spend at least an hour on it, more like 3 hours if you've never done it before, and you risk damaging a wire or an O-ring or breaking one of the 30 plastic clips, then you have an immobile car blocking your drive while you go buy a whole new pump anyway.

@@carfix1993 Thanks for replying -- I'm asking because here in the USA, the only part that returns for the Corolla 2WD is 77024-02180, and that part description states that it's only for the '09 - '13:
      parts.stevinsontoyotawest.com/p/62960028/7702402180.html
That part looks exactly like the part on my '06 Matrix Corolla, but I'm not positive because I can only see the pictures online and don't have one to see in person. I have my fuel pump apart right now, and the filter looks exactly like that one.
For some reason, Toyota's parts page and the local US dealers do not list a "filter only" kit for the '06 Corolla: they only sell the entire unit. I just need the filter.
Anything you know from your experience would be very helpful! Have you installed these same kits on '06 Corollas? Thanks again -- I really appreciate your help!

@@carfix1993 Thank you so much -- I truly appreciate your help! The VIN is 2T1KR32EX6C601598.
The problem I'm running into in my research for the part is that in the US, Toyota does list a part, 77024-02180 "Service Flange Assembly with Filter" that includes the filter and the black tube connected to the top flange part, but the Toyota site indicates that the part only applies for '09 Corolla/Matrix to '13. But as you mention for your video title, outside the US the kit is used for '06 to '15, which is also what I've seen on ebay listings from international sellers.
Here is the part 77024-02180 that I hope fits my '06 Matrix Corolla, but I'm not sure:
      www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OEM-Toyota-77024-02180-Fuel-System-Tank-Tube-Assy-2009-2013-Corolla-/233603285445
The same part from my '06 Matrix Corolla looks exactly like this, but doesn't cross reference on part numbers, and there's no part number at all that I have found yet from Toyota for the same assembly/service kit for the '06 Matrix.
Thanks again for your video and your help -- I really, truly appreciate it!
