Let me just say I was freaken over the moon with just that. So glad that Indigenous are getting represented more now and in Marvel. Can this just be a regular thing like please.

@@TheLastSane1 Ah yes, because acting like someone being biracial erases the importance of them playing a non-majority demographic based role is _totally_ a morally good take.
It totally doesn't ignore the fact that biracial people are already frequently exiled from both of their heritages, as being "not enough of that race," and "not enough of this culture."
Seriously? Can people *still* not be better than bitching about the existence of biracial people, as if them being biracial isn't already held against them in just as much of their life?

My greatx2 grandfather was 100% Tlaxcalteca and was actually k!lled for marrying a white woman. Representation is extremely important! It's not just for young people, but also for people like my grandmother. When we were little, she would constantly ask us, her grandkids, if we loved her even though she was dark and "Indian".
One movie isn't going to erase several generations worth of trauma, but it makes it possible for people like me and my grandmother to see ourselves in a positive light not *despite* our heritage, but *because* of our heritage. I love it! So much.

It's going to be awesome seeing the peoples of Wakanda interacting with Namor's people (the submarine Kingdom if Izicatli or something)!
Sure, they'll be fighting first but this is Marvel! And Namor is an AntiHero, not a villain!

  • @mynameisofnoimportance7041

That's amazing! Truly! That feeling when you see your culture being represented on screen is just đŸ€Œ.
When my mother and I watched Spider-Man Far From Home last year, that scene with Ned's lola made my mother and I smile the whole time. We're both half-filipinos living in Germany. And hearing lola speaking in Tagalog reminded us of home.
I think my mother and I were the only one's laughing, from the whole audience, at what lola said to Peter.
I really do hope that more and more representation of different cultures, that hasn't been shown on screen, will be recognized...
