Nice locomotive and nice price. A little axle grease might help them slide in the axle boxes to cope with the old Lima tighter radius permanent way.

Hi, Erik! It is quite a very nice locomotive, I guess those inscriptions on the side could be paint covered at a later time. But it's a matter of taste. I'm glad it runs better after you put it at work for a while, as I'm glad when mine locos do thus. Thank you for the video, have a fine relaxing week-end!
Hi Chris, running in was important and a few drops of Märklin oil further improved the performance. I also discovered that it mostly derailed on one specific rail joint and improved the position of both rails with an extra screw. Привет, Эрик. Хороший локомотив за небольшие деньги. Если бы не юбилейные надписи, а исторические, он был бы совсем хорош. Мне не очень нравятся модели с юбилейными надписями, но для коллекции я такие тоже покупаю. Как набор вагонов Мэрклин к 50 летию SNCF, например.
@@user-xs4ce4bt6g Тот же тип локомотива (0-4-0 Jinty) в обычной ливрее продается в том же магазине по сниженной цене: 44 евро. Но я считаю, что этот «Ровекс» хорош и полезен в качестве промышленного маневрового автомобиля для заводов Ровекс. Есть план на постройке небольшой предприятий в макете. Спасибо за просмотр!

Hi Paul, it needed running in, indeed. And usually Hornby locomotives come greased, but this one was as dry as a desert. I gave it a few drops of Märklin oil and it runs a bit quieter already. I think it would run better with extra weight (maybe in the front of the boiler), so I tried to open it, but I could not get it open yet 😳 the body seems a very tight fit on the chassis. You were lucky to receive your loco like that, My first loco direct from Hornby was not as well packed, I was surprised that I received all the things that I ordered.
I haven't ordered directly from Hornby yet: I think the import taxes will make it expensive. That German reseller has good prices and delivery to Belgium is affordable. Thanks for watching! 🙋♂️ Erik

Hallo Erik,optisch sieht die Lokomotive sehr schön aus. Die langsam Fahreigenschaften sind leider nicht so besonders aber für diesen Preis okay. Vielleicht wird er besser wenn du sie gründlich reinigen wirst. Trotzdem war es ein schönes Video. Gruß Torsten 🙋♂️
Hallo Torsten, it seems typical for the type 7 motors: they need running in. Indeed, at a higher price it wouldn't be worth buying it, but luckily I could get at a very big discount and delivery from Germany to Belgium was affordable. Danke für das Anschauen des Video! LG, Erik

As you say, for the full retail price this loco would be bad value, but at €36 it's very acceptable. Did it come with a limited edition certificate?

Your layout is very small are you using 1st radius curves, that may be why the model is not running as smoothly as expected as it is recommended 2nd radius or larger. The type 7 motor isn’t the best, these models originally had the X04 type and date back as far as the late 1970’s, I have such a version in BR black lined livery.
