  • In this how to video I'm working on my 1990 Third Gen Chevy Camaro. The door on this car has been sagging and squeaking for as long as I've owned it and its finally time to fix it.
I'll be using the Dorman door hinge repair kit from Summit Racing.
    Part # RNB-38401
    Price: 11.99
This kit comes with new bushings and pins for the upper and lower brackets.

Great job! I just did that on a 4th gen. So nice to be able to click your door shut!

Very helpful video. My door is not as bad as yours (91 Z28) but would like to fix it before it gets worse and watching you do this gives me confidence that for under $20, it can be done.

Check where your door latch is in the door jam it may need to be adjusted too, it looked like it may have been making contact before the door actually caught the pin.

Did it fix that gap between the door and the fender? I have the same issue with my z28 and wanna know if that did the trick

a little red grease would help keep them from wearing out

Thanks for the video but why would you install the second pin off camera? It defeats the purpose of us seeing the install. Also you needed to adjust those hinges to the highest point because your door was lifting as you closed it. If it stays like that you are going to wear out the pins you just installed.

I dont that without taking the door off the car... very easy . !!! all you need is a floor jack to level the door. then you will need a machine like the one he have... you will need to buy a new blade is like 8 dollars you will need 2... one for the top bolt and one for the bottom one... once the the door is level cut the top bolt off with the machine . once you get that sucker cut off, you will need to drill it out from the top ... you will need to buy a long drill bit at least a 10 inch one... now after the bolt is out. remove the floor jack let the door hanging in order to put the copper ring. level the door again to put the new bolt ... I promised you all camaro lovers that door will open and close like it dit at the show room... in fact you dont need to do the other one but I did it anyways ... the bottom bolt will need to be drill out from bottom ...

I did it my way because I dont want to take my car to the body shop to adjust the hood fender and the door... also if you need to take the door off is not need to remove the fender...!!!
