Kevin R that's not really what I mean. Like the recession hit a lot of people hard. I know plenty of working adults who live at home and over the age of 25 or their parents move in with them. They have college degrees/they've been working to pay off their debt and their parents debt. Its expensive just to live nowadays. But it's the fact that this guy has a child, not a three month old child, but an 8 year old kid. A child that's old enough to know that his father is a deadbeat. That's where my sympathy was at first because I know people who are in similar situations but aren't unemployed losers. I feel bad for his son.

Gen X and older Millennials are the last set of people where we couldn't wait to "become adults," en masse and we generally knew this meant letting off some money to fund a roof over one's head. even if it led to dysfunction.At least we had impetus. I wouldn't be able to cope as a child with the expected "hovering" that an average parent is expected to penetrate in the name of "parenting". Personally I couldn't wait to get my sex on . Wasn't no "you can have sex in the house" flex by the majority of parents back in the day, even if we did! I wouldn't have been able to cope with potential intergenerational moaning and groaning. And I don't run that shit as a parent myself.
Not everybody can take on Tertiary educated influenced, non boundary having parenting, nor should they be expected to. And if you kids big enough to have sex at 14 in some places, don't nobody come to me with the "their brains aren't fully formed until age 25" flex, either. If that is the truth, best to raise the age of sexual consent to 25 seeing as having sex too young can influence some negatively or influence future perpetration of a sex life in funny ways.
