    Thanks for showing this budget tents. I was looking for such a video as I will be travelling to Serengeti this Dec and will be staying such tents :). Will be staying 3 nights. Just want to know how comfortable the mattress and sleep is. Also is it getting cold at night ? Are there any charging points to charge camera batteries and phones ?

      I was there in December as well and it wasn't cold at all inside the tent, in Serengeti. In Ngorongoro the temperatures were much lower but not inside the tent, as we had warm sleeping bags. The mattress was ok, not the best in the world but I did have a good sleep on it. The electricity in the camps is solar powered and sometimes might not be available to guests. However, the safari jeeps do have charging stations. I charged my power bank during the day in the jeep, and then use it at night to charge my phone and my camera. I highly recommend you bring a good power bank with you (mine had 12000mah and could charge both the camera and the phone).

      It didn't have a name as far as I know. It's just the public camp :)

      No, you have to bring your own tent.

    I’m traveling to Tanzania in august and have a night in Serengeti camp. One worry I have is how dangerous is it? I read many reviews about animals walking around the camp freely, especially at night. Does it feel unsafe?

    • @JoannaNemes
      @JoannaNemes  Před 2 lety +3

      Camping in Serengeti is not dangerous at all. Yes, you do get animals coming in the camp grounds, but it's mostly antelopes and zebras at the early hours of the morning, and hyenas in the night because they smell the food in the kitchen. They are all harmless. Usually you will go to bed before the cooks do, and no animal comes in whilst there is still noise. Some camps have guards who stay up at night to scare the wild animals.

      I don't know how you can individually book this camp, as everyone who camped there was in an organised tour.
