They are the most humble band I have ever known today that are in the amazing position they are in, they deserve way more recognition for what they do but then again that doesn't define how amazing they are as we all know, and what their music does to people and makes them feel!!!
I couldn't agree more, its so hard to put into words my answer when people ask me why do i like them so much, there is just too much to say and if you invest time in them you will understand why their fans really feel acknowledged and appreciated by the boys and their take on the world them is quiet a unique one at that and their talent at their craft of creating music is absolutely incredible. They are just too special and complex to put into words!!
Such an inspirational band to young people like me! I love The 1975 and I love Matty for being so real and honest.

I think this is the only time I've ever heard him refer to himself as Matthew Healy...we getting serious up in here
i admire him so much, there is just so much to learn to from him.
There are a LOT of bands/artists that I think are making music that is _more_ interesting than The 1975.
But.....The 1975 are different in a way....Matty genuinely loves POP music. He wants to be a cultural force for what he cares about. But....it's ALL about the music, the art, the creativity, the fashion, the aesthetics, the imagery, the ideas implied, etc.. He wants to be huge.....but for artistically genuine reasons. And that is a rare combination. There are lots of fame chasers...and lots of genuinely creative artists. But...they don't often merge. When they do....you get a Michael Jackson or The Beatles or Nirvana. It's fascinating how people thought Kurt was a "slacker." If you've delved deeply into his life, read bios, etc...you realize pretty quick, on some level he _knew_ he had the capacity to make his band fucking HUGE. And he wanted it...and intentionally made it happen. And it worked. Compared to what Kurt wanted...and made happen through work...makes me and you look like the slackers.
I do not know if Matty's band will ever reach _that_ level, either artistically or commercially. For one, times are SO different. Things you could do in the past...it's just different now. There's no going back to a lot of things. But still...they're going for it, and embracing who they are, challenging themselves and their audience, and always evolving into something new....album to album, song to song, year to year.
The 1975 often frustrate me. And often blow my mind. And sometimes one happens first...and later the song somehow "clicks" and now I get it...and then I GET it. I just kinda love how captivating they are as a hyper modern creativity machine. It's nice to see someone _really_ going for it...on all levels. Creatively and commercially.

Anyway what do you think the songs She's American, Paris, Somebody Else and This Must be My Dream are about? They're about girlfriends. So think before you comment. Some of her older songs were alright and suited her voice much better. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan so of course I'm not going to listen to all of her songs, but the lyrics I have heard from her reputation album were shitty and I don't know why she's trying to be "edgy" all of a sudden. It's all just really cheesy to me and doesn't work. Just my opinion

If you're gonna say an opinion, you should've listened to all of her reputation, and not because you're not fan. It's not all "edgy", proves that you haven't listen to the whole album. why do they say the 1975 when it's just matty why tf don't they interview all the band members
Matt Healy does all the interviews because he writes all the majority of the songs and lyrics. So any questions any interviewer asked, he is the one who can most likely answer them.
+Gus Graham to me that doesnt matter bc there are so many interview topics and if an interviewer just saw him talk about lyrics in all the other interviews, why would they keep interviewing about the same topic? that used to happen a lot during their tour for their first album and it's still it annoyed a lot of people, including matty. its false to write the band name and it's only 1 person. I know I'm not the only fan who wants to see all of the band members; I've been unable to find an interview with them all since the release of the pink album.
+Ayana J true! I agree, I want to see an interview with the whole band for once, I don't think I have ever seen one with all of them haha! When I think of the 1975 I don't think of them as just matt Healy, I think of them as a whole band, Matt, George, Adam and Ross! I do see why it's just Matty who does the interviews tho, any question someone has to ask, he is capable of answering it. At least so far he has.
