This woman is phenomenal. Never fails to blow my mind. She writes a killer hook without compromising the sophistication of her intellect nor her musical command. These melodies are brilliant - the funk is so thick and the soul is extra deep. Her vocal is so laid back while still conveying a mountain of emotion - only a genius can do that. I just don't understand how anyone could not love this and why she doesn't have a much larger audience. ❤
She is very talented. I first was introduced to her music via her song Eternal Flame about 7 years ago. After hearing the song I was facinated by her singing voice and melodic sound. I looked for more of her music and without even looking for chart I gravitated to Nervous and The Magic from her album in 2011. I also just about looked at every video on youtube and have spotify and been able to listen to all her albums . She does have great stage presence ( from a distance). By this I mean is this. As a studio artist her music is amazing. Live, however lacks luster, hear me out. Lets not talk about physical beauty as this is not what we are discussing.Just simply on performance and voice quality.. Clearly her vocals on this video is great. but if you look at about half of her live performance the voice is weak. I will post two videos where the voice lacks luster. ( Dont get me wrong she sound amazing in studio recording).

One other thing is her over explanation of what her music is about. I enjoy reading about lyrics and the creative process of how a particular song or album was made. But when ever she is doing an interview she is constantly over explains her music or song. (To each there own but I would rather have a music artist gives a short description of the song at best)
and last wish her music live was close to album.( Example: In her album The Deep Field, song Nervous there is a guitar solo I wish I could see her play. After searching I found out it was someone else that actually played it in the album. and hence the reason she cant perform the song like the album.
All that said. She is on my playlist. I do consider some of her songs classics. How ironic given one of the titles of her songs is classic and how she mentioned in one of her interviews she is looking in her music a classic song to stand the test of time. The thing is she does have them(classics). However is not up to the her to determine what the classics are, is her listeners.

First time hearing her....... blown away and heart strings pulled with that 2nd song, don't know why but that is part of the beauty. A song bringing feelings up that are hidden deep inside. I am a new fan, excited to hear more.
