Q&A: Does Rex have to continuously dye his hair blonde or does it naturally grow that color? How and where is he getting his hair products from? How is he affording it?
I remember reading a Clone Wars magazine that said he bleached it.
9:00 Actually Oppo Rancisis is in the Clone Wars. He was in Season 6!
Oppo Rancisis fan here. I'm hoping he shows up in Acolyte.
If Rex saw Vader and recognized that he's Anakin, that would completely change Rex's line in Rebels where he's talking about Anakin and he's like "I had faith in my jedi general, and I tried to keep that faith."
I think if anyone of the Bad Batch would see Vader, they would first poop on the spot and then try to run lol.
No one is talking about the scene with the target practice and Omega asking what skills that requires and it looks like that’s going to lead to Crosshairs discovering new uses for his talents. That was such a pivotal scene, and I don’t see anyone else talking about it.
I agree, there is no way the emperor tips his hand to Vader about project necromancer. If Vader shows up it will either be incidental, or unrelated to Tantiss.
I'm an Oppo Rancisis fan. A Fancisis, if you will.
I will
I don't think the Bad Batch story really calls for a Vader appearance right now, but that could quickly change when characters like Ventress start showing up. He is the go to Jedi hunter guy during this period.
Hemlocks glove may be a weighted glove to help with tremors… a byproduct of self experimentation with the same techniques used on the clone included crosshair…
3:30 THAT’S NOT HOPE!!!
(Dune 2 quote. Not angry or personally yelling)
Hoping to see Yaddle in Acolyte
And Yoda too.
And get Bryce D Howard to voice her AGAIN!!
Since we know that Patty Jekens returned to do Rogue Squadron, what other Star Wars Projects do you like to see getting Uncancelled or Return to Developing and Release to the Public?
Per Mollie's "Get in the comments!" regarding Vader in TBB. I remember watching the first trailer with Ventress with dread thinking Vader was going to show up to deal with her, not as much dealing with the Batch. If Ventress doesn't "help" with Tantiss I think he could show up to deal with her while the Batch escapes to somewhere. At the same time, if Ventress goes to Tantiss I'd much rather inquisitors be sent. Getting a Riva appearance with like "The fifteenth Brother" to duel Ventress would be cool since Ventress could probably take two on fairly decently even with only one saber. No matter what I'd love to see a lightsaber battle between Ventress and ~someone~
Instead of Vader coming back to put down the clone revolt, Palpatine is going to be like 'fine I'll do it myself!" Goes crazy on all the clones.
I don't think Star Wars DESPERATELY needs to break out of the timeline of the movies as much as people think, honestly a lot of the discussion around that topic is rather disparaging as someone who loves the familiar eras as much as trying new eras. I'm excited for The Acolyte, I love the High Republic and I hope it's good and does well so we can get more stories in shows set in the era but as long as we continue to expand the universe with new characters and their new stories, where it's placed in the timeline is secondary at best but I will always advocate a balance between the two because not every new thing will resonate with everyone. I also really don't like how the word "pulp" and aliens is being used about Star Wars TV lately as if having aliens is some extra thing or something that hasn't been an integral part of the franchise's aesthetic since the originals. Something about it just rubs me wrong.
I would be so stoked if we saw Oppo Rancisis in The Acolyte. His mention and voice cameo in Jedi Survivor got me so excited and I would love to see him in action some day. I'm hoping he or at least one of the Jedi we know are still around in the prequels (Yoda, Yaddle, Tera Sinube, etc.), appears in The Acolyte, even if it's just a non speaking cameo role because I think it just makes sense if we're going to compare the Jedi of this era to the Jedi of the prequels.
I'm more than fine if Vader does appear in The Bad Batch S3 but I agree that he isn't needed and I would only want it if it made sense for the story and Palpatine wanting to use every tool he has to put down a potential insurrection on Mount Tantiss and save his cloning operations would make a lot of sense. But the story is interesting and compelling enough with Palpatine already in the picture and Hemlock as the main villain that Vader is something they can skip although it would be very interesting to see him in this time period so soon after Revenge of the Sith.
I think there are never-ending possibilities in Star Wars. I just hope whatever they make is good.
Many thanks to Mollie and Alex! ☘ And happy St. Patrick's Day to anyone observing.
I could see everyone storming an Imperial base just to have one door open and Vader turns around, and then everyone really has to run. We don't need to do a lot to have Vader show up, but I really feel like he has to have at least one scene, even just standing next to Palpatine in a scene would be good. In fact, I don't even know if I need Vader, but I'd love to see a cameo appearance of an Inquisitor, maybe even the one from Tales of the Jedi before the Empire was contacted about Ahsoka since that character model is already made and in the animation style, too.
Also with Wolffe mentioning that Rex was supposed to be dead from a crashed Venator, I'm guessing this means that Vader has visited the crash site, which means Stormtroopers may also be present in the Imperial ranks, not just TK Troopers, but that's probably assuming too much because with Ahsoka retconing the visuals of the Rebels Epilogue, it wouldn't be surprising if we're just not ready for actual Stormtroopers yet in Bad Batch. However Palpatine said that it was time for the Imperial Stormtrooper when he finally decided to make an appearance in the Senate in Season 2.
We saw Vader visit the crash site in Clone Wars season 7. Less Vader would be great for the franchise.
I pray to the Force that they bring this movie back from the dead. As well as Rangers Of The New Republic. I want to see these projects soooo badly!
What do you think the next animated show after Bad Batch would be?
Personally, my dream show would be an adaptation of the Plaugeis novel in the Clone Wars artstyle. Or really anything set in that general era before the Clone Wars.
I'm guessing it will be focused on the High Republic as the continuing expansion of that era.
I think we should get a Darth Maul/Crimson Dawn series.
Something that takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strike Back
Tales of the Sith
@@laurencec09 yes!
I imagine Vader will be sent to Tantis to deal with Bad Batch. I can imagine Crosshair mentioning him to Bad Batch by saying "Lord Vader, the Emperor's attack dog. I encountered him a couple times."
I'm currently rewatching the clone wars and just finished the umbara arc.
Am I the only one that found it incredibly frustrating that there's no satisfying conclusion to that story?
The fact that the clones massacre each other, losing a recognisable character in Waxer in the process, no characters seem to acknowledge the incident. What did Anakin, Obi wan or Cody think of what happened to their men? We never hear what happens to Dogma surely there was a trial?
What did the Jedi Council make of Pong Krells turn?
I find it frustrating every time I watch 😂 is there any lore out there that ties this story up?
Either Dathomir witches create energy bows/crossbows or it is a Kyler crystal in the stock that when the string s pulled the crystal creates an energy bolt that is released as ammunition
There isn’t a Wookieepedia entry for Omega’s energy crossbow yet, but there are entries for her Zygerrian energy bow as well as the Nightsisters’ plasma bows and Jannah’s blaster-based energy bow. I suspect that both the crossbow and the Zygerrian bow are also plasma-based.
Q&A: When do you think we will get more content on Luke’s Jedi Order, perhaps when the current mainline comic raps up?
I somehow missed there's going to be a Wookie jedi in live action. How cool!
Didn't the Nightbrothers in Fallen Order use energy bows too?
Yep!
I’ve been loving the high republic era and can’t wait for the Acolyte
Here's the thing about "Rogue Squadron": Way back when everyone was so certain that the film was absolutely dead, I said then that it was put on hold because Jenkins at the time was already committed to make a third Wonder Woman movie and then a Cleopatra movie. "Rogue Squadron" was announced in December of 2020 2020, so with two feature films line up, even with a FAST production time of 9 months each, "Rogue Squadron" wasn't going to start until at least the middle of 2022. While Wonder Woman 3 was killed not long after WW84 came out, Cleopatra was still moving forward as late as Aug 2023.
In the middle of all that, Jenkins couldn't work on ANYTHING script-wise for most of last year because of the writers' strike. So Alex saying "they had three years already" around 4:40 here isn't exactly accurate. Contractually, she had other commitment she had to meet or wait for them to die off before she could move forward.
The biggest issue here was LFL announcing the movie so early when they knew Jenkins had other projects lined up. People who don't know how studios work assume "Well, it was announced, why can't I buy tickets already?" But contracts are made years before work starts on even pre-production. We just don't hear about it that early - for good reason.
Since the original "delay" was announced (which wasn't really a delay in the first place, it was simply a scheduling thing) and people declared it dead, I've been saying the whole time "just wait and watch." And I still feel that way now. Fans feel burned because of the three+ year wait right now, so they're skeptical. But this is just the way movie-making works.
They were working on a script 6 months before they announced the movie and a lot of a Rogue Squadron movie would just be the actors sitting in cockpits. They were really trying to sneak the movie in before WB pulled the stipulation in her contract that gamble didn't work because the previous DC boss was trying to save his job by setting up new projects like WW3. But yeah the anti KK people were pushing the agenda that the movie was outright canceled when Lucasfilm would have already known about Patty's WB contract and would have considered that when they signed the contract in the first place.
Yeah... "Just wait and watch" applies for the Johnson trilogy too
Q&A: Will the Acolyte in The Acolyte be a Sith Lord as in a member of the rule of two or just a dark side zealot?
Q&A: Did Snoke tell Kylo about Rey? Snoke obviously knew Palpatine, so did he know about Rey as well. Maybe he was just testing both Rey & Kylo on the Supremacy, cuz in The Force Awakens novelization Kylo says to Rey "So it is you," when they first met. He also asked the FO officer "what girl?" Implying he has heard of her. He also stated "she's becoming more powerful every moment." Also, Palpatine tells Kylo "she is not who you think she is," in a way that implies some sort of mutual knowledge about her. I have not read many sequel trilogy books yet, so i was wondering if we have any confirmation that Kylo had some sort of knowledge about Rey prior to them first meeting in The Force Awakens??
As another Oppo Rancisis fan, I’d love to see him in anything! I was really hoping deep down he would have been the Jedi that Grogu called in season 2 😂
Oppo Rancisis is an order 66 survivor in my tabletop game canon. He’s a character who needs more screen time. Have you seen his lightsaber design? So cool…
26:31 I can’t imagine having Vader on Mt Tantiss… this is the Emperor’s private project.
*Q/A:* Darth Plagueis once said "We embrace the spectrum of emotions, from the heights of transcendent joy, to depths of hatred and despair." When have the Sith ever experienced the heights of transcendent joy?
I'm going to guess either through sadistic means or defeating/outwitting someone since the Sith are pretty infamous bad guys.
If Rex ever found out Anakin was Vader… 1- Ahsoka would know long before she finds out in Rebels. 2- That’s just too many people knowing that secret.
Seeing how Rex IS now involved with the story line it would seem inevitable he is involved in a final battle where Vader is sent in to “deal with” the situation and they meet face to face and there is recognition and understanding of who Rex and the Batch are up against.
Do you guys think that TBB season 3 will connect in some way with the Hidden Path? We know that Quilan Vos participated in it, and I would love to know more in canon about the other names that were mentioned on the walls of Mapuzo
Thank you for the videos!
A storyline where Vader sabotages Palpatine’s Project Necromancer plans would be interesting.
25:56 "You have to save Padmé"
Oh plz no vader in bad batch finally
Hey Alex, I'm sure you saw the news with funhaus. I would sure love to see a colab with Jacob again!!!
what did he do with Jacob? Didn't know they collabed
@@laluel if you search the funhaus videos for star boys you'll see Alex in his fighter pilot helmet in the thumbnail. He's also had Jacob here for podcasts
@@chrisedwards4749 ah thanks! I'll look that up
Q&A: What if Palpatine just tells Vader that Project Necromancer is all about bringing Padmé back?
I wonder if Vader or the Inquisitors are sent to Tantiss to quell the clones, and Wolff's Order 66 command is activated against them, leading to his obvious PTSD in Rebels.
Oppo Rancisis is in the clone wars but only season 6 he has the most screen time when Yoda hears Qui-gon’s voice and the council thinks he’s losing it
Hi there, love your content. Look forward to every time you post. Thank you. Question, do you guys have “real jobs” and you do this Star Wars Explained gig on the side? If so, what are your real jobs and educational background? If this is your full time job now, how did you each get here? What was life like before Star Wars Explained? Thanks in advance for sharing YOUR back story. 😊
Q:A Do you think that Hemlock's poison gas has something to do with the rumored anti-clone biological gas the separatists were developing as heard in the Clone Wars S6 E1? Maybe it only effects clones and that is why it is being used on Tantiss?
I so desperately want some Mandalorian content set during the high republic. I wanna see the armor styles of the era, if they’re in a brief moment of peace or mid nuking themselves… anything
Since Jenkins was distracted by DC's Wonder Woman from moving forward with Rogue Squadron, I wonder if the same will happen to Mangold, depending on what the priority for him will be.
Dawn of the Jedi for Disney, or Swamp Thing for DC? Either of them being after Mangold is done with his Bob Dylan biopic.
It usually depends on which contract he signed first but then studio negotiations can shake things up depending on how desperate they want a project to get made.
Love the parks and rec. clip
Did Vadar even know about the cloning attempts at this point?
Q&A: What are some species equivalents to Glup Shittos?
Since The Bad Batch is ending, aside from Tales of the Jedi season 2, what kind of animation project would you like to see next? (Time period, the genre/central characters ex. Pilots, Bounty Hunters, animation style ex. Same as TBB or something new)? Thanks, MTFBWY!
The ONLY way I’d wanna see Vader show up is if it was for Rex to see him this way and recognize Anakin behind the mask.
I hope the old rogue squadron games come out on the switch/xbox/ps 🤞🏻
I want a Patty Jenkins Star Wars RS or any SW flick or SW series.
There is a chance Vader could come in to kill Ventress on screen. Anakin and Ventress do have a history together from the Clone Wars. Perhaps Vader will reveal his identity as Anakin in Ventress's final moments
Oppo is my favorite jedi 😅
Do you have a video explaining the shadow collective and crimson dawn during Mauls reign? If not could you make one please?
Q&A: I just watched the Acolyte trailer, and it looks exciting! What High Republic books should I read before that show comes out?
Hi all, great video, yep my excitement for Rogue Squadron is cautious as well. This whole Vader discussion, I will never say "No I dont want to see Vader!" but I don't think hes needed for this, like Molly said Maybe an end scene with i'm and Palpatine with no lines. Also, Vader shows up everyone will die, have we not experienced this in Rogue one lol.
I do think people are gonna die in TBB finale, to motivate Rex and the others to "retire", but it definitely doesn't have to be Vader. If they keep pulling the Vader card and having him dramatically show up all the time, it's gonna loose it's impact fast.
Oppo Rancisis is awesome!
If Rex did figure out that Anakin was Vader, I bet his life would never be the same after that.
I don't want Vader to appear in the bad batch, I agree he should be used sparingly, he is more awesome and more scary when he rarely appears, Its what made him so awesome appearing at the very end of clone wars or the very end of fallen order
Q&A: Do you think that Baylan Skoll will be in Tales of the Jedi season 2 and do you think it will release this year?
Could the Bad Clone be a clone of Crosshair? Maybe Crosshair is a clone and the bad guy is the real Crosshairs... or is the bad guy clone actually Tech?
According to the RPG, crossbows use projectiles
I was as excited as anyone whe rumor first started circulating about a Rogue Squadron movie. Then The Last Jedi and Wonder Woman 2 came out, and I became extremely worried, that a Rogue Squadron movie would just be a bait-and-switch for an Alphabet Squadron movie.
"Im Just tired" Alex. Same........TBH
Question do you think that since Omega and Boba (Alpha) are thechnically brother & sister and probably the only clones without the accelerated rate, could Boba also be a possible candidate for whatever Project Necromancer needs Omega? 🤔🤔
Think I agree with Alex. I can see how they could do it. But I don’t think bringing Vader in is necessary and I don’t want it either. I love seeing Vader be badass but we don’t need it in this story.
Will Doctor Aphra ever appear in a star wars series (live action or animated)? Or her own series?
I don't think Palpatine would want Vader to see stuff on Mt Tantus. I do not think Vader will appear. The Rex and Anakin thing would be something, but really not for this series. That needs a thing.
Although, what if we need Voss and Ventress are absolutely necessary to combat Vader if he does arrive?
I definitely don’t want Vader to show up in the Bad Batch. I think Palpatine would be keeping his cards close to his chest with regard to project Necromancer. If Vader shows up, there’s no hope for the clones, clean sweep, the end. I think Hemlock is vain enough to think that he’s already crafted the superior shadow warrior corps and will use them.
Q&A: Did the galaxy ever learn that Kylo Ren was Leia's son, and if not, what do you think the reaction would be like?
Could a Baylen and Shin animated series in the Clone Wars art style work?
Have you guys treid the new Star Wars TCG? Its very good
I have heard that is set 50 years before the phantom menace
21:47 Wookie bowcasters…
I'm still waiting for Yarael Poof a star wars story.
Dude has a long neck what more do you need?
Honestly when it comes to Star Wars films I refuse to believe that they exist until I'm sitting in a movie theatre watching it 😅 That's how little faith I have in Lucasfilm to make SW movies, the shows I will believe those are happening and get excited, but I've been burned to many times by the promise of more films
Really hope Vader doesn’t show up in bad batch. Him appearing at the end of clone wars, rogue one, and fallen order will start to lose its impact if he just ends yet another story
Is TBB before or after the Andor’s dad being arrested by the Clone Troopers on Ferrix?
Q&A: Did you do the chicken dance or the electric slide at the wedding?? These are the important questions
I thought Vader was hunting the Jedi survivors of order 66
Cody needs to come back and join his brother Rex
Vader is always ba. Is he necessary, no, but if he showed up I wouldn’t dislike it. Nothing loses power or is diminished in my mind. I just want sick content.
Q&A: With the Tenth Anniversary of The Force Awakens coming in 2025, I've been thinking about what kinds of stuff we could see for the Sequel Gang post-Rise of Skywalker. With the New Jedi Order coming out, would you like to see Finn and Poe star in their own Spin-Off, kind of like Solo: A Star Wars Story? I would be excited for something like that: Not too huge of stakes, just a buddy adventure with Finn and Poe after the sequels hunting down First Order survivors, and perhaps Finn getting more lightsaber training.
Oppo did appear in the Clone Wars he just doesn't do anything major because he was brought in so late. It was only his saber that didn't appear. Had the budget been massive from the start they could have had him and the rest of the council present from the start.
I'm an Oppo Rancissis stan.
Why yes I love Dogface!
Jungle boy Jack Perry asked a question??
KYBER!!
Somehow, Patty returned... again!
😂🤣😹🤭💀
Is it fully back on? No. But it’s also not fully dead.
I don't think Vader needs to be there. It wouldn't fit into the clone story.
👍
Dang... My cousin had similar light things at her wedding, but this was back in 2015 and there wasn't any lightsaber shenanigans. Man, that looks like so much silly fun.
I've been waiting for more Oppo since the original animated Clone Wars series.
Are the clones slaves? Does Star Wars ever grapple with the fact that the good guys have a slave army? Are clones allowed to leave the republic military? What kind of rights do they have?
Mentioning the zillo beast i pictured Vader havin notches in his chamber of how many times Vader did the same kond of missions.
Call me old fashioned but you can not make a good rogue one movie without it being centered on Wedge, Tycho, Hobbie, Wes, Gavin, and Corran Horn. It has to be Galactic Civil War era. Any other time period with different characters will just be wrong.
