    OMG. I have never heard of the dishwasher tab trick! Inside my oven glass has been disgusting for years. I tried cleaning products, scraping, etc. NOTHING worked! 5 min and 5 dishwasher tabs later it's clean as can be! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

    Thank God for dirty ovens, Hahahah, 🤣 this reminds me when growing up us a child and being the oldest of four, I was always given the chores of washing the dishes, and above the sink was a quote, Thank God for dirty dishes. Though I murmured and fussed I don’t understand, until I asked my mother what does that mean, she replied, because we have food on our plates.

    It's faster if you spread the dry baking soda on the flat surfaces and pour or spray straight vinegar. Then spread that all over let it sit for 15 minutes. Then wipe it all off.
    Works on old Pyrex too. Never use oven cleaner on Pyrex it dulls the finish.

    Thank you! How did you clean the racks? Same way?:Just spread the same mixture, let the sit for 12 hours and then scrub with vinegar and water, and then wipe down with warm water? I appreciate your insight, experience and help:)

    I do this to mine also but I do have another tip for you. When you take your racks out place in black thick trash bag with 1/2 cup of ammonia and let sit for 4 or more hours or while your cleaning oven. Take out and rinse well

    For me it was another Failed attempt. Went back to using straight ammonia! Take racks out. Use whatever dish pour about a cup or so leave over night ( you can also cover door with plastic wrap ) wipe off with wet rag, rinse & repeat. Also replace spill tray if needed. FYI you can put racks in Lg trash bag spray & leave overnight. FYI 2, save your back take the door off to clean.

    Most scientific use of baking soda and vinegar. Baking soda to react with the grease. Vinegar to remove the excess baking soda. The oven cleaners convert the grease into soap and wiping and cleaning after is simply with plain water. Just saying.

    The absolute easiest way to clean the oven door glass is to shmear some dish soap on it and then run over it with a razor blade. Comes right off painlessly!

    just spent late yesterday coating inside of oven with the baking soda paste and this morning had one hell of a morning cleaning out oven. First oven manufacturers should make ovens with doors that come off for cleaning. I have twisted my 71 year old body every which way trying to wipe, scrape and sponge off the baking soda AFTER spraying liberally with vinegar. Very disappointing. Sides of oven where mostly it is rivulets of baked on fats, or meat juices did not look any cleaner! Oven may BE CLEAN but still does not look clean. Oven door - paste of dishwasher detergent did not work. Using a dishwasher tablet as an eraser but wet was more successful but the tablets break up pretty quickly and I used 3 tablets without getting every mark off glass although it looks much better. I would pay someone to come in and clean my oven! No domestic house cleaner wants to do it and I don't blame them. It is a back breaking and twisting job. After a shower I am off to my physio.

    CAN SOMEONE EXPAND ON WHAT SHE DID FOR THE WINDOW? DID SHE DIP THE UNOPENED PACKAGE IN WARM WATER ? AND THEN JUST RUB IT AGAINST THE GLASS? DID SHE RUB THE BALL PART OF THE TAB? OR THE OTHER PLAIN SURFACE OF THE TAB?

    Anyone who tries this: please please please wear gloves! The chemicals used are common household items but still very bad for your skin, and you CAN get chemical burns if you don't wear gloves!

      I take baking soda baths for my eczema; and i can't imagine diluted vinegar causing much of a problem. No gloves needed

    • @ericabilodeau
      @ericabilodeau Před 3 lety +1

      @@justsomeguy5498 It definitely depends on your skin, but constant exposure (depends on how often!) to weak acids (vinegar) and bases (baking soda) can sensitize your skin. I imagine your bath is not as concentrated as the baking soda above.

      Baking soda won’t hurt you. It is a proven therapeutic for taking away the pain if you burn your hand or fingers. Make a paste in a cup (enough paste to cover the injured area) and stick your hand in the cup until the burn pain goes away...5-10 min. No pain, no blister, no red mark, makes it like the burn never happened.
