For all those who are comparing both artists like it's a competition need to do a little background research into why they play duets and why an artist who predominantly plays jazz and Western classical would want to get into a duet .. it's not called a duel.. even for kadriji to play a Western instrument in our Carnatic style he would have picked up techniques through such musical interactions and backroom discussions with Western saxophone artists on tours and travels and at jazz festivals playing and interacting... So please appreciate the efforts of the other artist more than trying to treat it like a duel or clash of cultures and claim that he is no match etc.... Music knows no boundaries or one upmanship ... Kadriji was a very God loving, humble person always smiling and positive 🙏🙏. There will never be another like him or liken DrBMK .. Both legends with divine smiles

George brooks would be too good on western classical and impossible jump the track to Carnatic mode , both are masters in their own domain, truly great masters

@@sanjaykiran7210 It's not a competition, and that isn't inherently true. Jazz has infinite amount of rhythms, just like Carnatic music.

George Brooks is the first western musician whom I have seen playing a western instrument to Indian classical music with looking at the notes. Simply master class. Brilliant

  • @bhaskarbulusu

George Brookes is like MSG who could play both Hindustani and Carnatic.
George Sir is pleasure to listen to in his western elements. His adapatation to perform with Indian Musicians makes him a very flexible artist and he will be a good bridge for western style saxophone players to come to Indian Classical Music.
Both have learnt Saxaphone in completely different styles. Gamaka Swara of Carnatic to bring more Bhava is unique to us. Concert discipline and a rigor in teaching is unique to Western Styles.
I have seen only few Indian musicians play both Indian and Western music.
This concert is a textbook reference to be referred by Saxaphone Players like when two cultures meet , they can communicate well.
