    The most disturbing things about deadites is how they possessed people. Like after being possessed, their eyes would roll up and their skin starts to deteriorate with decay and accelerated aging the longer the possession is.
    Another thing is what happens to the soul during possession? I can imagine Cheryl's, Linda's, Scotty's, and Shelly's souls screaming in fear and agony as the deadite inside their bodies started eating them from the inside while they are forced to watch their former selves attack Ash. But I think Ash might have freed their souls after killing the deadites in the end. Though he would have saved his friends, girlfriend and sister, if he would have find the way to exorcise them.

      TheDecepticondude Dude you ain’t lying, I remember watching this movie by myself at home alone on the living room tv when I was 12 or 13yrs old and by the time the movie was over I couldn’t turn the tv off or the lights on because I was so scared to move under my blanket....I eventually fell asleep with the tv on, but what’s so amazing about this movie I love is the music and atmosphere that keeps spooked and frightened which is pretty good for movie made on a low budget back in 1981.......there’s not many horror movies today that captures the music and atmospheric tempo the way this film did which is why it’s a classic to this day, the reboot film in 2013 was crap the 1981 original will always be the best version.

    While it’s origins have yet to be fully revealed, I believe the Kandarian Dagger was fashioned by humans, in order to combat the Dark Ones & Deadites, considering the Dark Ones had enslaved the humans thousands of years ago.
    Hence why, in Ash vs. Evil Dead, the Kandarian dagger plays such a large roll, as it’s one of the only known ways to kill Ruby, who is a Dark One.

    The remake baffles me, the idiot starts reading a book he found in a creepy cabin cellar filled with dead cats, wrapped in a garbage bag, and barbed wire. While it also has don't read me written in blood on it 😂

    • @Garthorium
      @Garthorium Před 6 lety +31

      Isn't the remake supposed to be somewhat satirical of modern horror movie tropes? For the example you provided, it could be a reference to how no matter how ominous or threatening something appears to be, no one heeds the warning signs in horror movies. Despite how blatantly obvious they may be.
      I could be entirely wrong too...

    • @YourheroSerene

    • @PickaHand
      @PickaHand Před 5 lety +22

      I don't actually think that it's nearly as dumb as what happens in the original.
      The original has an archaeologist who knows the following things:
      - the book is bound in human flesh
      - the book is written in human blood
      - that it's about demons, demon resurrections, and forces that roam the forest
      - that the forces mentioned in the book lie dormant but never dead
      - that reading the incantations would give them permission to possess humans
      And then he reads the book.
      Now, he has no actual reason to believe that the book is legitimate. But he has far more knowledge about the book than the character in the remake.
      The remake has a teacher who reads a book that says "don't read this book". He has no idea what the book is. It could be an elaborate prank made by some teenagers who practice some witchcraft. Not only that, but he's then the first one to figure out what's happening, and the first one to actively try to stop it. Of course he made the error of reading the book, so he has to pay for that which is the reason why the man goes through the comical amount of punishment he does.
      I'm just saying. If the remake baffles you, the original should really baffle you as well.

I especially love how they handled movie 3 durring the period of time it was questionable if they could reference it in the show and how they finally did handle it season 2. The only thing that could make the transistion more complete would be if they have Ash at some place recount when the S Mart was bought out by Value Stop

    You should totally do something Lovecraftian, like the main pantheon that interacted with mortals, such as a video on Cthulhu, Nyarlethotep, or the puppet-master(admittedly weaker than the previous two by far) himself, Hastur. They each had their own, inhuman following, with Cthulhu's being the most physically enhanced and dangerous. Or, if you need entities in the plural, you could do the Yith and the Fungi of yoggoth(but it's like Lovecraft fans silmarillion. Lots of content. Hard to read for a non-Lovecraft fan.) Considering the Yith threaten humanity greatly after Nathaniel Peasly revealed us to them in 'Shadow out of Time". I love your content man and I'm a huge Lovecraft junkie as you can see. Considering Lovecraft is the grandfather of horror and created cosmic horror, plus any form of horror can be plausibly fan led back to something lovecraftian(That's just how far-reaching and profound his works are, despite being more obscure than poe) I figured your channel would benefit immensely from having something Lovecraft on here.
    P.S. The Evil Dead monsters and Lore were heavily influenced by Lovecraft. In the Mythos, the necronomicon was a book written by a man named Abdul Al-Hazred who was a servant of Hastur. Hastur told him the secrets of the cosmos and his realm, filling it with powerful incantations, spells, and most dangerous, names. Names have power. Actually, you meet a 'Dark One' in the story 'Dreams in the Witch house' where a dark one ambiguously named 'The Black Man' possesses a book conveniently titled 'The black book'. It possesses far more powerful spells and incantations than those of the necronomicon and has the names of far more powerful demons to summon and bend to his will. The majority of the book however is human names. Any name written within, their soul is bound to the book and him. So he wasn't trying to hold back the demons like in the Evil Dead, he controlled them. Demons are the weakest and most servile outer and abyssal race in the Mythos, despite being horrifyingly more powerful than humans.
    Peace man, please at least consider my suggestion.
    X-)

      Yeah it was my first impression that the Necronomicon was linked to Hell. But no, it's a dimension or plane of existence where if you saw it, you'd think he'll is a better fate.

    Good video!!! I remember when I saw this movie for the very first time in 1982. Rented it from the local video store. Watched it at night with the lights turned off. Though this movie is quite hilarious - scared the doggie-doo out of me!!! Would NOT sleep with the lights off for about 3 months afterwards!!! DEAD BY DAWN!!! DEAD BY DAWN!!!

    Though I haven’t watched the evil dead, I’m still intrigued and fascinated by the lore of the deadites.
    I’m working on creating creatures/demons that are loosely inspired by the deadites.
    The creatures/demons I’m creating are called the cybernetic Deadings.
    Who are cosmic horrors that’are made up of various dead human body parts or bio mass and cybernetic parts.

    He says groovy and all I can think of is the User from ReBoot in the game that's an obvious homage to Evil Dead. Or at least it's obvious now. As a kid, I didn't get the reference and later thought it was the other way around with Ash referencing ReBoot.

  • @Octovisuals

    Very interesting! They should continue _Evil Dead_ in Amazon Prime, HBO Max or something, or just make another movie! I feel there's a lot of mythology yet to explore! _Evil Dead_ is so good it could still offer a decent plot, fun and scares...

    • @Octovisuals
      @Octovisuals Před 3 lety

      @@Invalidusername24 I know, that's what I was talking about. _Ash vs. Evil Dead_ wasn't bad, though, but also wasn't all that good either. I hope they make another good movie with Campbell, or without him if it recaptures the spirit of the originals which apparently nowadays even with all this techonology is difficult - or maybe it's just because of it...

    This cult classic is a must watch and obvious show piece in any horror movie lovers collection. It is so popular that they sequel movie was quite simply a remake of 5he original and NOT a sequel film. It has all the ingredients of a great horror film that come together to form nightmare fuel of epic proportions. Eventually they made a third film that actually was a sequel, but this third instalment is more of a horror comedy than a nightmare fuel film like the first two movies were.
    If you haven’t seen this movie then you are missing out on a great film. If you have seen this film then it is time to watch it again! A solid 8/10 for the first two movies, and a 6/10 for Army of Darkness- the third film.
