  • The least expensive 2024 Toyota Prius Prime, the plug-in hybrid version of the Prius hybrid, is the SE. Equivalent to the Prius hybrid's LE trim, the SE is the Prime in its most basic form, and there's a lot of good that comes from that. It weighs less, it's more aerodynamic and more efficient, and it rides better. And did we mention it's also the quickest Prius we've ever tested?

We have a 2024 Prime SE. Waited almost 2 years for it. And, well worth the wait.
First, under those plastic hubcaps, you'll discover a fine set of alloy rims. How surprising is that, no bland stamped steel rims !
The thing is unreal regards efficiency. I drove it 91Km (56+m), in EV Mode the other day (gotta love summer), and, this morning when we hopped in, the Trip Computer advised we had an EV range of 94Km. We've had but one road trip and (after the Traction Battery died), and the hybrid system engaged, we saw a 62mpg return. The SE's 17" wheels with Aero-covers , pay-off.
Regular gas here is at $6.75 a gallon. Wait, I think it went up yesterday..................never mind, we don't care anymore. With over 5,200Km (3,250m), we have used less than 1.5 tanks of gas. Our hydro is set at .1325kwh. This is our third Prius (first Prime), and it's way better than either of the first ones regards running costs.
