I’ve got beta thalassemia trait even tho I’m off Scottish / English heritage this I found out because on my grandmother’s side she had Italian Mediterranean DNA from the Italian Roman invasion of Britain 🇬🇧 all that time ago, that’s how my family have it on my dads side, True story

I have minor, have had it my whole life and I'm almost 40. I do suffer from anemia from time to time and the other other "side effect" is doctors thinking I have something crazy going on when they look at blood test results after I've forgotten to tell them I have beta thalassemia. I forget almost every time. Lol
Beta Thalasemia Minor is dangerous?
@@themotoguy8764 no, not usually. Just annoying. I wonder sometimes that if I'm feeling out of breath more than usual and if it's caused by my red blood cells not being able to carry oxygen as well as they should... But then I remember I'm 40.
@@bobbycone2 ok it's normal then
@Evanesse F I've never been on any special diet for it. I wouldn't worry about anything special for it. A normal health diet should be fine as long as there's some red meat or other food item that has iron in it is included but you could say that for anyone really. Most likely your daughter will never be affected by it and will probably go her entire life without even needing to think about the fact she has it.
@Evanesse F that seems strange to me. I've had it my whole life and I've always eaten foods with iron. Our red blood cells need iron to function properly. But definitely do what your doctor recommends, I'm no medical expert. Personally in my experience with it, I've never had any trouble with iron rich foods and I've actually needed to take vitamins with an iron supplement from time to time if I felt like I was getting a little tired and lacking energy.
What is the treatment
