This is a fun game. You get to choose between many Digimon's to play with and all basic Digimon's allow for two transformations (you don't often get the chance to get to the last transformation before the game ends, but you're at a big advantage if so). Each Digimon has their own unique attacks. The controls work fine and there are several different areas to play in. There's 6 different final stages you can get to. One of them unlocks a battle arena for multiplayer mode and the other 5 unlock extra strong Digimon to play with. Unfortunately these final stages are pretty darn difficult so the game kinda forces you to use the extra strong Digimon... which allows for some real cheesing in the prior stages. Doesn't matter too much though as this is more of a game to play with your friends as the actual story mode doesn't have much to offer. In this video I show all stages, although many of them are in the same area. The enemies are randomized too so there didn't feel much point in recording all stages but I did so anyway. When I played Stage 4-3, I randomly got "Keep Away" mode which was unlocked after completion. This mode is pure random and can happen in any stage. The objective is to hold the ball until you reach 20 points. There's another special mode which is not in the video, where you have to hold position at a flag until 20 points. Anyway, game is a bit cheap and only fun for a few hours at most. The one thing I just really like about it is the Digimon evolutions which make you stronger in combat. I have not yet come across a battle game like that.
Well theyre in the same realm.. but Smash is much more advanced with a better battle system, story mode, event matches and pickups. This game doesn’t have any of that but has cool Digimon evolutions to give it some uniqueness
