Stray Kids "#LoveSTAY" Video - • Stray Kids "#LoveSTAY"... - Hudba
So a bit of back story on the origin of the #LoveStay hashtag and it's importance to the fandom. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure its first use was an Instagram post by Hyunjin, it then went on to be his thing and he would use it in the captions of his posts. It even went on to be used as an official merch design for their first fanmeeting February 2021. When he took his hiatus, things were so bad and rumors got so out of hand that Stays were even afraid to mention him by name with any updates because we would get harassed by other fandoms who were taking advantage of his accusations and blowing them wildly out of proportion, his name would always be trending on Twitter with people badmouthing him so we didn’t want to amplify it any further. So many Stays began referring to him as ‘Lovestay boy’ During his hiatus, the members were not allowed to refer to him directly at all, but of course Chan, being the amazing leader he is, would always reassure us. He went on to say in an episode of Chan’s room, “whoever invented the hashtag Lovestay is an amazing person” and kind of just gave us that knowing look. We were still sad but happy that Chan did that to reassure us, he would do subtle things to show that Stray Kids were and would continue to be 8 members, like constantly updating his Bubble profile pic to a pic of OT8. So #Lovestay became our way of referring to Hyunjin, it’s showed up in many official SKZ media since then and has now become the recurring name of their fanmeeting. Its extremely sweet that he wrote the song during that time too, he was always thinking of us even during difficult times. Also, just a bonus tidbit, the Korean handwriting in the lyrics belongs to each of the members. Such a subtle but cute detail, just thought you might like to know a bit of the context regarding this song! (rewrite of a similar comment I wrote on a different reaction of #Lovestay 😅)

Yes Hyunjin make that song during his 4 months hiatus, we stays really miss him and it hurt a lot we cant even mention him and cannot trend his birthday because we afraid antis will come for him and the boys. During his hiatus Chan always reassured us about him. Stays cannot do anything , thats why we work really hard during kingdom. They need to win and we did it. Since 2019 a lot of fandom accused us cheating just because we become more systematic. We have a very systematic fanbases and stays are really cooperating and hardworking.

Hyunjin loves stays so much - when SKZ went from 9 to 8 he was scared he would lose us and he wept on stage
When he came back he wrote this and performed play with fire as a thank you to stays

The whole kingdom moment was a bittersweet moment from all of us stays and remembering all the hardships that they all went through eversince pre debut era. And listening to this song I just want to cry my eyes out hahahaha
I’ve been a Stay since Hellevator and honestly this is one of their best music videos ever. I loved Maniac, but this equally could have been the title track and slayed the charts as well. The production is phenomenal
I feel like this MV is more unique because it doesnt have any choreography and you can concentrate more on the vibe of the song....but Maniac is better for a tittle track

Hyunjin said he wrote lovestay for 4 months. He didn't confirm it yet but I am real sure he was talking about the 4 months stay haven't heard nor see anything about him. It's heartbreaking knowing that the members can't even say his name that time and that he wrote it because he got so much love from the fans even though he can't say 'thank you' and 'dont worry'.
WHAT'S MORE HEARTBREAKING is that he kept moving his profile picture during those times to let us know he's just there, watching. And I clearly remember everyone in twitter crying.
Since Chan can't talk about hyunjin, he said on his vlive that "the one who came up with #lovestay is such an amazing person". You can clearly tell he loves his kids so much seeing how his lips formed into a smile watching hyunjin on "mixtape:애". It's a rough journey to look back, I just hope it will never happen again.
I actually went and watched his reaction after seeing this comment and it made me tear. It must have been so hard for them and he just looks SO at peace seeing Hyunjin back. 😍
The first time Hyunjin used lovestay was as a simple caption to an instagram post after a concert, but it's probably one of the most treasured things this fandom has right now.

"The things that come to mind when I think of Stay.. August 1st (the day STAY fandom got its name), the letters you wrote to me.. As I thought of these, I realized that I was loved for all seasons, which made me incorporate seasons in the lyrics a lot. If I was able to tell you this in person while holding a mic, it would have been much more touching, right? Until the day we meet again, let's bear and wait together. Okay?"
After searching, I found that the day when the fandom was named, August 1st of 2018, was indeed a summer day which reminded of spring. It wasn't as hot and there was a slight breeze, therefore that lyric is also realistic haha

Stray Kids, all of them have helped me a lot in life in ways that are hard to put into words... They make me stay, them and Stay... So it's like a caress to the soul. And the cutest thing of all, it's made with so much love... Stray Kids and Stay were family, they are and will continue to be no matter what, until the last step out and more. Always and forever.

The hashtag #LoveStay is very important to the entire fandom. It was invented and used regularly by Hyunjin. He is one of the most loving and appreciative idols I have ever known and is madly in love with the fandom, even if fandom is not always kind to him. If anyone could write this song, it would be him. By the way, Hyunjin produced it and directed the members during the recording, distributed all the parts.

The Maniac dance relay was the first thing I ever saw of Stray Kids. I hadn't been into kpop, like at all. That came across my feed somewhere and I watched it for whatever reason. I thought they were SO funny and adorable, and I loved the song, so I looked them up and watched the M/V... that was the end for me. I've been in love with them ever since.

I can't lie I cried when I first heard lovestay. Like the fact that they say they love us so often and always take time to thank us after they win an award through a vlive!, and share so much that they don't have to share with us...means so much already. But composing a whole song with the title Love Stay...that's another level of heartwarming. And the fact that Hyunjin, I.N and Felix wrote the lyrics ...wow.

The only thing my brain can process at the Venom mv is that they play or do something dangerous against one another but you can't see any fear in them. Like Chan and I.n with the bow thing in chan's heart, hyunjin shooting bullets to han, chan and binnie with the box and knife, which chan stab his knife through changbin's box, idk what's up with felix and in's chess match, hyunjin and lee know with boxing with spike gloves (?), and seungmin throwing granade which han use his bat to strike it away. I'm not sure what that means but they like the danger that comes with those, they are caught with the spider web but don't want to go out. They can, like felix and seungmin through the exit door but they won't because felix close the door and not stepping outside. Just an observation not theory lmao

Yes, Felix has a beautiful singing voice, a bundle of potentials even still growing. He has committed to sing around Autumn 2020, and started to take singing lessons, and yes he sings now more often.
I don’t know if you already have listened to ‘Cause I Like You’ by Changbin and Felix (SKZ-Record) which was the first song released after Hyunjin went on hiatus. They never said this song was meant for Hyunjin but it is a beautiful beautiful song with full of love, and the lyrics has hit me hard at that time.

absolutely love that you ended it with #lovestay! it's such a great song and knowing that hyunjin probably wrote it during his hiatus makes it even more precious. they love stay so much ☹its such an unfortunate time for them to fall sick, they were so looking forward to this comeback as well. however it is also very hilarious reading their bbl updates, they are all freaking bored out of their mind and so clingy with each other LOL the numerous video calls to each other per day. hope everyone gets better soon and does not end up with lingering effects of covid. i suspected i gotten covid back in jan (rapid test kit tested negative 3 times but i got all the symptoms) and i had an annoying lingering cough for like 3 weeks that drove me crazy.

I saw someone here explain the hashtag so i'll try to explain the origin of the song as best as I can (if i remember correctly) hyunjin worked on lovestay during his hiatus, the lyrics are letters that stay sent him either during his hiatus or just letters he had of stays overall which lix and i.n helped put together and write. Hyunjin also learned to play the piano for this song
Side rant: i became a stay during the time he was gone which broke my heart to find out since he became my bias pretty quickly. he loves stay so much that a while ago he cried for us not to leave him which also broke my heart haha. that video of him crying and the cutest voice message of hyunjin: czcams.com/users/shortsp6OsiulsBaY?feature=share made me cry every single time lol. I don't know if you already heard about this but when hyunjin was in hiatus, on bubble he said he went to the mountains at night, at the top he saw the city lights in seoul and imagined it was stays. He said he prayed a lot at that time because he didn't want to lose any stays. It really saddened me to hear this because it wasn't like him, unlike what he said before in concert where he cried, he was afraid of stays leaving but this time he wasn't worried about that, it was almost like he already knew or expected that stays already left him that's why he was praying not to lose stays, he didn't want to lose even one stay. It's so sad but when he said this he said everything is okay now and we should all move on. He never really mentions about his hiatus, this was only one of the rare times he did, he kept saying he's happy and reassuring us that stays makes him happy. At first it felt like he was only saying it but now it really looks like he's happy! And in his recent counselling vlive, he said that changbin scolded him because he was afraid of doing shows alone that he rejected doing it, changbin told him "why do you only listen to people who hates you" and that made him realize how many people like him and changed his mindset, thank god for changbin haha

I don't know, if anyone has written it already, but SKZ also have a beautiful song called 'you can stay' also devoted to the fandom. The lyrics was written by 3racha during their USA tour and the song is a part of "Cle: Levanter" album (first album after Woojin left). It has an MV too.
Felix doesn't sing as low as he usually raps; in general he and Changbin don't sing too often and sound so different from their rapping voices, that's why it takes some time to learn recognising their singing voices. But it comes with practice :)
The only song, where I still have problems recognising the members is 'going dumb' - everyone was so shocked that it is a OT8 song. It is a collab with a western artist Alesso and it is one of a few songs where SKZ didn't participate in creation of lyrics of music (I can't think of another example, to be honest, but maybe someone knows better).

I really resonated with you when you talked about taking their pain away and the unfairness of them getting sick on comeback day. It's so unfortunate for them and I can only imagine the emotions they have to go through having to cancel/postpone everything, isolate from each other and the people they know/work with, it must be so disappointing! IDK how delayed promos go, like do they still get to win or is it just performing 🤷♀️ I was hoping we could get them as many wins as Thunderous to repay all their hard work, but idk if that's even a possibility anymore :(

- The current reaction to Binnie's biddies (listen, _I_ didn't come up with the term...) is exactly what happened with Lee Know after the Thunderous Studio Choom release. Chris hasn't worn a shirt in, like, 50 years, so he's greeted with appreciation but not exultation. But with Lee Know and Bin being the two people who haven't flashed abs and likely never will, the torso reveals get the same treatment as abs reveals on the others, and we now have the entire hyung line having shown off very impressive chests. And I.N, being Mr. "I like bodies made of hard work," demonstrably enjoys going around and ogling or fondling those bits, which is hilarious and also very STAY-representative of him.
- Four different butts got hunted in the relay, a full 50% of the group. Just a normal day in SKZ.
- Did you notice they managed to add God's Menu choreo into yet another non-God's Menu relay? I'm totally on board with that becoming tradition.
- 33:55 (00:57 in the MV itself) It's Felix. He sings multiple times, but it's in his mid/high range, so it won't sound easily identifiable, as you've had very little chance to hear him do that. I'm glad you watched the actual MV, not a lyrics vid, because every single lyrics vid has misattributed at least one part (generally Felix and/or Lee Know), usually more, and it's irksome. Anyway, that first "I will never make you lonely. You'll always be beside me" is Felix, and the "받은 이 행복 소중히 담을게" that follows is Lee Know.
- 35:06 (right after Seungmin) Felix comes back in, again in the part of his voice that isn't going to sound familiar to you. Fwiw, Changbin also uses the sweet-angel version of his voice in this, so I'm guessing most of his lines aren't registering to you either. (Although for that one, that's a fandom-wide issue. Changbin sings all the bloody time in their songs, and no one ever seems to realize it unless there's a camera directly in his face or he's growling. It drives me nuts.)
- 35:17 This, btw, is the LoveSTAY performance during Kingdom Week. And I _HIGHLY_ recommend watching it. Anyone who's ever doubted that SKZ legitimately cares deeply about their fandom has either never seen that video or is incapable of processing emotion. It's the second time STAY have managed to emotionally devastate (in a good way) the entire group and bring most of them to tears with a surprise expression of support. Anyway, yes, they're crying in that video, but it's a _good_ crying.
- 34:18 Lee Know's cast is fake. It's the result of the injury he received in the car wreck in the the "B Me" unveil and is a feature of the early part of "Mixtape: OH" to show the closeness in time between those two entries in the Mixtape storyline, as well as show (through the cast's eventual removal) that time has passed and healing has occurred as the OH video progresses and they mature and move past the freshness of their breakup and into the regret stage.
- 35:25 We got to sit here and watch them live as they waited to see what would happen with NOEASY -- and then see their elation as they, for the first time ever, charted. They'd been sitting there discussing the likelihood of not charting and declaring that if they didn't make it, then they'd just have to work harder next time (like they don't already do that), and then suddenly they were realizing that not only did "Thunderous" chart but so did the entire album. It was _huge_ for them. For the first time, they weren't getting completely shat upon by the Korean charts and public.
- One of the many sweet things about LoveSTAY is that the lyrics on screen are in the handwriting of the person singing at that moment. It's probably easiest to see the difference if you check out the way the #LoveSTAY lyrics always looks different.
- Another meaningful thing about LoveSTAY is that we know Hyunjin wrote at least some of it during his hiatus and drew inspiration from that period. Like anything else related to the hiatus, he can't say that directly. But -- again, with all things hiatus -- he and the members have always done their best to communicate about it in code or in roundabout fashion. And around the time of the release of this song, he made several comments on bubble using the code phrasing they've established, and it was very clear he was talking about this song and its origination. I can't find my notes (I'm so sick; my brain is nonfunctional), but it was in the "during about four months when I was having a really hard time, I would look out at the night and see all the stars and imagine they were STAY in an audience, supporting me/us" and "I had a really hard time for several months, but I saw all the love and support STAY kept sending me, and it kept me going" vein.
- Venom is a song very much representative of a certain segment of people in a certain lifestyle, and being someone in the complementary segment to that segment within that lifestyle, I _adore_ everything about both the lyrics and the aesthetic. It's basically a su**ie anthem, and I'm delighted. And considering the ring they pass around between them, at least some of them knew what they were doing with this. (Look, Ma, I managed to vague-ify that comment into G-rated! IYKYK)

Yeah from an outsiders point of view it may seem a little weird to be this invested in someone who doesn’t know you but it doesn’t feel that way when you are in the fandom. They make you feel so loved and so special and they really open themselves up to their fans and you feel like you really know their true selves. I don’t know how much they try to hide from the camera but it seems pretty authentic to me. Makes you just want to protect them ❤️
