Hello friends and fellow jRPG lovers! I'm continuing my never-ending quest for covering popular jRPG franchises and among my to-do list was the "The Legend of Heroes" series. I particularly love the work by the Falcom Sound Team even though I haven't played their games (yet!). This banger is no exception, it goes so hard! Hope I did it justice :)
Sidenote: I know some of my long time followers are probably wondering "when is the FF guy gonna do the new FF?" and, rest easy, I took my time because I was too busy enjoying the crap outta FF XVI. Covers are coming! (stay tuned for next week)
Rock on \m/

"It was the height of summer, when we last crossed blades beneath Heimdallr. Do you think you can prevail now, where before you fell short. Tell me not with words, but with steel!!!!"
Victor S Arseid vs McBurn in the Infernal Castle , what a epic moment.
Underrated JRPG series. Great Cover btw 👌
So cool seeing you do a song from Trails!
Falcom Sound Team JDK are my fave composers in video games. I first got into the Trails series back in 2020 and binged through every game from Sky FC to Cold Steel IV in the span of about 6 months. The series has been my fave video game series ever since and even 3 years later that love has yet to fade in the slightest.
Trails as a series has always been one of the most ambitious across the entire medium of video games, most known for holding the record for telling the longest running interconnected story across 12 separate games and the span of (so far) 7 in-game years (And almost 20 real world years) and the series world renown masterclass, novel-esque world-building focusing on the sociopolitical issues of the massive continent of Zemuria which has multiple fleshed out countries featuring their own unique governments, militaries and political relationships and struggles. Zemuria has an impressively detailed history, including its own version of the real world industrial revolution, modern technological advances, its own religion and a version of the Vatican and so much more. Alongside all this there's a more mysterious, darker and occultic side of Zemurian history few are aware of involving secret societies, magical artifacts and ancient civilizations.
Series is unparalleled when it comes to world-building, character development and music and I can't recommend it enough.
the chugs come through crisp and hard on this one, love it!!!
Wow, you still make covers. Our tastes are pretty much alike.
Saludos desde Colombia, bro. Keep making superb ones!
Genuinely double-taked when i saw this on my feed. Thanks for this great cover from a great game series.
Oh man, I already loved the music of Legend of Heroes games. But this rendition sounds so damn good. I keep listening to it. Thanks for your vide.
Such badassery and on a Squier no less. Sick cover
Heck yeah. Always happy to see more Trails covers, and this is great.
Yes, please, by all means bring more Kiseki games on to the front! The Legend of Heroes is franchise full of so many awesome tracks! And your tackling them would be amazing!
Eeeee do more cold steel music pleaseeee
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤
Excelente!
Awesome
Loved this cover! Not sure how familiar you are with the Atelier series but I’d LOVE it if you covered the song Nefertiti from Atelier Meruru. It goes just as hard as this one imo!
Atelier is one of the classic jRPG series I discovered fairly recently! I played Sophie, Firis, Ryza, and then went back and played Rorona. All of them have excellent music (and the ones I didn't play, from what little I've heard, also do). Def wanna do some Atelier in the future
❤❤❤❤❤
good shit
Does this guy cover any UN Squadron or Ace Combat 2 songs? I can’t find any :(
The Trails series has phenomenal music, game play, story, and world building. I highly suggest people to check it out
It's definitely at top of my list of new jRPG franchises to try!
@@ferdk16 Do it. You will not regret it. The best worldbuilding in gaming, I've ever seen.
Never could get into this game. Tried a while back and found it to be repetitive and poorly scripted. Music certainly was good though.
If you can deal with more old school looks, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking out the duology of the story arc prior to Cold Steel, Trails from Zero then Trails to Azure, both games recently got official localizations after more than a decade and they are easily the best story arc of the whole series still imo, Cold Steel (1 and 2 especially) kind of took a hit because Falcom tried to kind of structure the game like Persona and also have a huge cast of characters which while I still liked those games, definitely took a major hit to overall quality vs the prior entries.
I can sort of get the vibe. I got the new baldurs gater 3 and it's great even though it's not the kind of rpg I'm into but I'm being open minded and it's growing on me : )
@@olddrunkninja I've been gaming since the 90s. Graphics don't mean much for me. More aesthetics. Which the game wasn't terrible with most of the time.
And ya. Trails of Cold Steel was what I played, so maybe one of the others would have been better. All I know is that game was mind meltingly dull that had me ending my playthrough fighting a boss called Unsurter. honestly, wasn't even the bullshit of that boss that made me stop. It was the protag's berserker mode that came out of nowhere and subsequently completely ignored within the space of a crossfade.
It's kinda why I left my comment here like I did. Most games have their fanbases, but this franchise's fanbase is zealotic. Knew that was going to happen again here, so I just wanted to add a little shade to the glowing praise these games always get.
I will look into your suggestions though. Thank you for them. This really is a franchise I wished I liked. Another shot at it in a game not trying and failing to be Persona could be the ticket.
Yeah your biggest mistake was trying to get into the series with Cold Steel as your first. Imo this arc is the worst and was really tedious to get through.
Sky on the other hand was pretty good and Zero & Azure are peak.
@@thesubinionI actually liked cold steel arc a lot idk why the trials community hates it so much
