You’re my fave nail artist. Nail school doesn’t teach you art, just how to pass the boards. I went in 2020 and felt like it was a waste of time and $$. You’re doing amazing work ❤ I’ve seen some people do their 3D art on backing paper from nail forms and then adhere them to the nail after it dries- maybe try that?
It’s mainly to teach the basic techniques and cleanliness practices. It’s your job as an artist to learn and hone your art skills. School can’t make you better at nail art. That’s why it’s not taught. Even mail art classes can’t make you better. It can help you learn better ways to do free hand but it can’t make you better learning a technique. You have to practice and learn. And keep learning. Even hair stylists need to keep furthering their education and learning how to do current hair trends.
I only want to go to get licensed. But I think the teaching should be updated from what Ive heard.
Mine didn’t teach me anything I didn’t already know. I did go just so I could get my license, but it really was just about how to pass the exams. There was no conversation about nail structure, how to do proper nail prep, etc… and there was no information about newer products like hybrid gels, hard gels, or gelx-type systems.

Tbh I personally don't wanna watch someone who says they dont struggle because that's not realistic, learning how to do anything with nails takes alot of trial and error and that's one of the many reasons I respect you and seeing the passion you have for nails is just so inspiring. ❤💕

Take it from someone who went to cosmetology school for nails hair and skin you learn more doing the nails then you do going to school they teach you the chemistry of doing nails and a little bit of technique but you mainly get your real lessons once you start doing Nails on your own and trying and testing things and just learning so you're probably better than a lot of professionals just wanted to throw that out there

Tip for charms if you're stressing- draw pattern/size on paper and scalp the acrylic. When it's dry/complete you can peel them off and file the back to shape your nail 😄

Hey Evie, you might want to see if there are software updates that your printer needs to have uploaded to your phone to make it work better. I always know when Facebook needs an update on my phone which is about every 3 days because it'll start being glitchy and not working right so that may be the problem.
