Rogue Legacy 2: How to Beat Estuary Lamech Strategies/Tips - The First Boss

- Lamech is the first boss in Rogue Legacy 2 and he is difficult. His moves are random, he quickly transitions through them, he hits like Godzilla, and he has the health of a Sherman tank. Here is the breakdown of all his moves and a quick overview on which class to take to take this boss down.
With the laser you can actually stand underneath his wand in between him and the laser and not take any damage. I prefer this since you don’t have to worry about the corner and it’s closer most of the time
Unmentioned strat during big laser. Just downstrike his head a couple times. You don't need double jump plus dash, though that can be done too.
You can also just stand right in front of him, there is no hit box there.
That’s exactly what I did
A word of advice about the hadouken attack; as long as you don't have the Gigantism trait (the one that increases your hit box size) you can actually stuff yourself under his armpit and not get hit by either the beam or his contact hitbox. Once there, feel free to unload. Granted, this can be an issue given that at least two of his attacks (knives and fireballs in particular) are best dodged at range, but it's an option. Also, the fireballs and meteors from the spin jump slam have predictable hitboxes, so if you have to do him often enough you can memorize where they hit relative to him and abuse the closer sweet spots. Prioritize your dodges more than your attacks, though. You are not gonna have high enough DPS or health to just facetank his hits unless you are so stupidly overleveled that you would probably get better rewards fighting an appropriately leveled normal enemy.
Also spoiler alert, but should be helpful for beating the boss!
If you read all his memories in the first zone you can find out where his hidden retreat is. inside it is a final memory that when read boosts your damage against him by 15%. very useful

@@k33p1tc00l I'm afraid I haven't played in almost a year. But looking at the wiki briefly and from what I remember, there doesn't seem to be a way to visibly track the effect other than checking your collection of journal entries and memories and seeing if you own the particular hidden memory that grants the effect in the first place. And yes, the journal desk should be where you can find all the journal entries and memories you've previously found.
Wait a minute, I thought his retreat was in the sun tower? “In the tower of lights” the memory says. I don’t think people are supposed to be at the sun tower before lamech.
@@switchboxplays It is in the room in the starting area with the green exclamation mark. That is the room with the lanterns that you can jump at to get to a chest. About middle of the way up, shoot your spell into the left wall for opening it ;)
how can he wears all the scholar armor. I do not have the enough weight to carry that whole armor
funny thing is, I first defeated him with the ranger while using the canopy and a good deal of evading. It felt easier than others for me.
for the gravity beam, no matter where he is, I can go to that tiny space between and below lamech and the beam and do a ton of free damage... If im too late and he starts his attack I just spin kick on top of him... in this one, since this video is a year old, spin kicks might have not been implemented yet...
Also, some how it took me 10+ tries to beat lamech, but it took me two tobeat the second...
Update after Far Shores update: now at 50% health Lamech becomes enraged and all his attacks become stronger. Because it wasn't challenging enough before as a first boss ahah
Thanks for adding that change. It doesn't change much about the overall strategy. Lamechs moves are all not too difficult to mitigate.

Very cool video. I don't mind spoilers for these type of games, where the gameplay itself is all that matters.. Although, if you make other boss videos, I might skip those :-)
Btw, when you are doing the slow motion in premiere or vegas, there's an option to preserve audio pitch, which will make your slow motion sounds MUCH better :-) I can't remember what the option is called, but look it up...
And another thing. I am using Davinci Resolve for editing my videos, it has a free version, where you can almost to everything the full version can, and in my opinion it's a much better video editing software than both vegas and premiere..

I recent switched from Corel VideoStudio to Davinci Resolve. Still getting used to it. I'll have to dig into the slow motion stuff because I have used it in a few videos and have been annoyed by the audio. There must be something in there that can compensate as well as similar products. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for watching.

And then the limited time boss for the forest is two of them at the same time. At least its an extra thing for people who want to beat them.
And theres a cheat for them if anyone is so inclined. I have a video up outlining it. I haven't beat them legit yet, but I beat them by cheating last night.
I just facetanked this boss with the barbarian and kept swinging my axe on him lol
Can you respawn the Lamech?
Unfortunately no. You'll have to start a new save to fight him again.

Did you really need to open your video by shaming people that came looking for a guide? That's just how the opening came off. Also, the lazer is the Gravity Beam Spell that anyone can start with. The anime comparisons felt unneccessary, and kind of like an attempt to pad watch time, instead of just referring to it's in-game name. Then again, my videos are all garbage tier, so wtf do I know lol. Good vid, thanks for the help, didn't realize his patters were completely random. Gonna stop trying to predict his pattern and dieing now lol

I play hours and hours. But I never find the first Boss. I level up my castle up and up. Health 10/10 and second health up to 10/10 and damg the same10/10 and 10/10 again. So I am in midgame I think. Bud there ist still no Boss fight.
It will be nice if you shw us next time how to unlock the Boss
