Fire Department Doesn't Care About Fire Alarm Going Off At Old Apartment Building!

  • A WHOLE HOUR later after filming the fire truck that was passing by an apartment building, the alarm was still going off.
    In 2019, we were walking by the same building, and the same thing happened, but I noticed it was activated for half an hour!

    Wdym they don't care? they were responding to a different call... they can't just stop. Call 911 instead and dont blame the FD over something stupid ..

    It's not the fire department not caring, fire departments typically cant/dont respond to fire alarms unless its been called in by someone such as someone such as a monitoring center, a security gaurd, or eyewitnesses. Even if they noticed the alarm going off, they need someone to call in before they can respond. The chance of the dialer/monitoring failing is super low, so the system is most likey being tested.

    • @alexgilbert2
      @alexgilbert2 Před 7 měsíci

      It usually depends on the system, whether its local or not, they would have signs telling people to call 911 if it was a local system

      I can't even tell if the strobe works and it's like the fire department was responding to a different call. Even if they saw the strobe they wouldn't know if it's being tested by an alarm company ect.

      I doubt it's being tested, considering there was a GAP store there that closed in 2020. Also the inside of the small windows above seem empty.

    I saw basically the same thing happen right in front of my eyes. There was a fire in the staircase of a 4-unit residential building in the downtown area of our city. The fire started around 7:30 and they didn’t get there until 1:00. You wanna know why? Because the ambulances and fire trucks stopped to go into a corner store instead. I have video of them doing it but I didn’t want to post it because I didn’t want to have all this controversy over it. But let me tell you, these fire trucks were wailing their sirens for a few hours and where I live, it’s illegal to do that unless you were dispatched. So these people either broke the law to get to the corner store faster, or they thought that the corner store was more important.

    probably a Local fire alarm system which doesn't contact the Fire Department automatically or just a broken dialer

    I usually don't see Gentex GMS's anymore, but I'm glad there are some still installed in certain areas.
    I didn't see the strobe flash either, so the camera probably couldn't pick it up, or the strobe is dead/weak.

    Its funny at all the comments I see about the fire alarm. I would say that this isn't a test. The system isnt being monitored or the dialer is broken. The reason that is if you pay close enough attention to the picture...the whole picture not just the alarm you woul notice that it is an Auto sprinkler alarm, meaning that a sprinkler had triggered it. So regardless or not if it wasnt called in, it should have been responded too. just my 2 cents.

    The facility could have been testing the fire system or it could just be a local alarm which would require someone calling 911 themselves after noticing the alarm was activated

    • @LAFAALS
      @LAFAALS  Před 8 měsíci

      totally possible. But it's probably trouble with the system

  • @joeycaridi3030

    They must not care because the fire alarm is a mechanical horn and it doesn't sound very loud at all because some mechanical horns sound very loud and some ones sound very quiet than it's normal loudness due to the structure of the horns's mechanical plate, the strobe is not a clear strobe, and the sound frequency of this alarm is very low which doesn't get their attention at all but if that alarm was a System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance then that alarm will more likely get their attention better because these things are very loud even when outside and are high frequency horns and have a high strobe brightness level of 115 Candela

      That strobe is meant to be clear, it’s just yellowed. Mechanical horns are loud, but I do agree that they don’t have very prominent overtones like a truealert or spectralert
