    3. Keep shop open for another week.

    Did some thinking on this....
First, I would have the store in time-away.
    2) Take shipping station and supplies to new location.
    3) Pack 1 4-tiered shelving unit into the boxes labeled to the shelf, and haul that shelving unit dissassembeled with the boxes to the new location
    4) Re-open store but only include THAT shelving unit's labels in the store
    5) repeat with a few more shelves adding one at a time
This will give you an organized shipping station, but only for the books that have been moved to their new location.
2 Men And A Truck can haul the main portion, but I think this method would give you more of a feeling that you are making progress, and might boots the spirits.
    Just an idea......

General consensus from many other resellers is that sales are down at the moment across the board. My sales are ok for now but looking at the stats, I have seen a obvious decline in impressions both organic & promoted so maybe not too bad a time to put store in time away. Tough situation but your right you're have out grown the shed & you would have needed to do something one way or another. The dust will settle & you will get back on track. To give you more space, I would do a quick run to the shed with your excess packing supplies as they are lighter & leave the heavy lifting for the removalists. Last thing is doing yourself a serious injury to your back & not being able to get back to work when you have moved in. Wishing you the best of luck & look forward to seeing the new warehouse & any vid of the book fair when you have time of course! 🙂

A quick temp fix would be to move all the packing boxes off the large table in the middle. Than move all new stock into boxes (ready for move) onto that table. Dont worry if no room to remaining packaging as unlike single books easy to move in and out when working. If this does not immediately give you the space you need then would suggest moving bench on LHS over to large table in middle and then repeat filling up boxes with remaining new stock and stack against wall where bench was.IHopefully new stock would now be all packed away. Finally you could start packing existing SKUs into boxeds and continue stack on LHS outside wall once stack is above workbench level move bench back over. All in all this approach would enable you to begin move prep at same time as service orders for as long as possible. Good luck and have Fun. You've got this Mel!

two men and a truck are awesome in our area. They moved everything in just a few hours. It's worth the money and gives you a little break.
If your shelfs are labeled you can ask them to put the boxes labeled with that shelf on the floor. That way you won't need to move the boxes around as much. I hope that makes sense.

I am lucky the boys at the warehouse are planning to lay down pallets for me so the removalists can stack them and then they will move them all around the shed with a pallet jack where I need them to be. So that’s one bonus and less carrying heavy boxes of books for me!

Glad you put your store on away mode. I did it for a month when I moved. Sales picked back up once I started listing again so I'm sure yours will pick up right where you left off. Get that inventory out of there and in the warehouse so you can work on the rest. Good luck with the move you got this Mel.

I moved across country and thought I would only have to put my shop (Poshmark) on vacation for two weeks... I ended up closing it up a week earlier, and kept closed it a week later. I still felt unprepared to start back up, but it was close enough that I just got it done and made it work. I don't regret the extra two weeks. I wasn't expecting them, but everything worked out and my mental/physical health were better off for doing it. I would say close up shop now, work hard and focus only on getting your place moved and set back up properly. You will have CZcams content you can make from all of that to keep the $$ rolling in. Give yourself credit for all of that hard work!!!

Wow that definitely looks like a time to go time away. I would focus on building your draft bank. You could even just box up your new inventory and give the box its own SKU distinct from your shelf stock. So when you get to the other side you already have a few days listings up your sleeve. The main priority is to make sure the transition to the new shed rubs smoothly and so everything is boxed and labelled. All the best on your new journey of discovery:)

I was so happy to hear that you had footage of the book fair!! Do you already have racks set up for the extra books you bought? I've had a couple of small stores in a swapmeet and each time I used paper and pen to make lists of things I needed to buy. One of the stores was a self-help candystore. I designed the store on a piece of paper, and then decided which candy would go in which acrylic bin. Somehow, it worked out great. Bottom line - pen and paper are your best friends. I would suggest either a sit/stand desk for your computer, or just the piece that sits on your desk that you can raise. You don't want to have to bend down to see the screen! With your pen and paper, design where you will set up tables for taking photos, computer, packing station, mailers, and so on. Enter every item that you use on paper (just write down what you currently have), from all the different tape you have, to scissors. Know where it will all go. Where are you placing tables for books that will need photos, tables to put a new haul on, and so on. When you work with books, you need flat surfaces!! Figure out a place for the book bags when you come to the warehouse with new books, going forward. Creste a plan that doesn't have you lifting new books repeatedly. Decide on the best way to pick books that sold. Don't allow yourself to go back to a section you were already in. Always have a clear path to walk through. Have a trolley available and USE it. This business will become your joy. People like you. You network well. Have a great time setting up your store and maybe make a new ebay video of it. Look at what you have created, Mel! Bravo!!

I would be worried about boxes crushing - books are very heavy, you could have all kinds of issues... and trying to stack pallets on two pallets of single or double boxes could be problematic.. since the pack books are not going to fit exactly to the top... FYI you're looking very trim & slim - flexible... even if you feel like a truck is hit you... the last thing you need to do is overwork yourself & become bedridden, because your back is gone on vacation.... You've got this! Idc how meticulous you are when planning goals, you can plan them to the T but there are going to be times that you may not have been able to plan for (after all life can be unpredictable some times)...and there will be times where mess and stress are part of the journey and road to success BUT you grow and keep getting better and things become more efficient and goals start getting hit. A one man band show is where it all starts.

I'm so glad you outsourced the moving of your books from the shed to the warehouse - I was getting worried you were going to grind yourself into the ground. Better to have a bit less money or revenue now and a healthy body, than bring in some more cash but be a broken wreck. Take the extra week - you will be better off in the end
