The second point in R gives like 100 damage extra, while e gives you better cd better slow% as well as dmg, while being your primary clear ability
Yeah it makes absolute sense, that extra 100 dmg isnt really

I thought more its because his R was on CD so leveling gives no dmg while he rushes to 12 with more dmg on his E during this time.
@@zib2222 r gives +100 damage and nothing other not even CD, while e gives less cd more slow near 100 damage also you can use it every 2-3 seconds it's just %1000 better than r max

Masters Vlad main here. The most important reason to Level E is to be able to one shot the casters for your clears after getting your first item.
I used to watch him a lot. He builds Mejai even when he is behind. Best way to come back in game or snowball out of the universe. He just doesnt die after that point and picks up random kills and assists. So free investement on Vlad, its insane. The champ scales too good to miss out on it.
He is so clean he just builds it.
Mejais is not a good item when winning the game on vlad. If you are winning with vlad you dont need to extend your lead even further.
Mejais is only good if either
1. Game is pretty much unwinnable and you need a miracle
2. Both teams are even, but you are the fed one on your team.
@@meiti2000 you take dark seal almost always anyways so its a very efficient item if you're snowballing aswell. Especially because you buy deathcap so early.

If you are snowballing as Vlad and your team is even, you've basically won the game already. Its only losable if you fuck up really hard, or if you buy mejais and lose all your stacks.
@@meiti2000 yeah buying the item and losing the stacks is turbo bad. So i agree that maybe not buying and risking the throw might be better. I think if ur confident u can not die tho it applies a lot of extra pressure that can really 1v9 a game. Then again, if ur ahead early as vlad, who really only needs to scale, then it might be better to just scale it out instead of greed the lead.
@@RapierUnit exactly. If you are confident enough to not die you dont even need mejais. And if you and your whole team is turbo ahead even if you die you can still win easily. The easiest way to lose a huge lead is to go mejais and die. Of course if you are ahead and the rest of your team is behind mejais is a great choice

just a side note elite has said that 99% of the time phase rush is the better option even if he went conq here
not anymore. If you look at his match history he is going conq every game. Fully stacked you get like 40 ap. It's nuts as long as you survive until your first back to buy either a hextech revolver or a fiendish codex.

Im assuming the e max before ult max is due to the numbers: level 2 ult only gives an extra base 100 damage and heal while maxing your e gets you a 5cd base cd from 7cd(4 points in it) 15 more base damage and 5% more slow.
Spellbinder was the movement speed item
Before that there was Luden's Echo. Both items were good on Vlad. Generally either as first items or as last items after you sell boots.

The item you're thinking of that got removed was spellbinder.
If anyone is looking to start vlad:
Conq is not good for beginners. Go or flash ghost into ranged and electro flash ignite or aery ghost ignite into melee (preference)
Build with phase rush or aery is NH > Dcap > Void > Shadowflame > Situational
With elec is belt > cosmic > dcap/ void > dcap/void > situational
Dont first time in ranked. Vlad isnt that hard but hes one of the hardest champs to get used to as his playstyle is wierd
IMO Elite is one of the best solo queue mid laners in the world.
Hey MidBeast, there was a video about this player recently, and one thing he mentioned himself (he was being interviewed) is that he will always get Mejais, every game, doesn't matter the game state.
It's the dopamine chase and also if you stack it, it's game over.
And yes, he also maxes E before R for wave clear. He says himself that if you get even a few CS shoved in faster, you will win the game. It's all about CS and gold.

Well vlad is supposed to be a scaling champ, ur meant to lose if ur're letting him get solo kills and 10cs/min. Like nasus. And its also riots fault for continuously putting a champs power budget into items. Vlad is also plays like a lifesteal champion. Its feast or famine, either you outheal their damage and look broken, or you don't and just die.

17:15 vlad used to sell boots for deadmans. Spellbinder was part of his core build.
After item rework, vlad still occasionally can sell boots. He usually sells for cosmic, but its preferred if you have ghost and/or 10 mejais stacks for more ms.
I miss spellbinder :( I remember a game where I had Rod of Ages, Deathcap, and 3 spellbinders on Vlad with like 20 kills in season 10. The active didnt stack but the 120 AP and 10% MS did. So much fun

@@meiti2000 So true. I only started playing him halfway though season 10, so I didn't play him a whole lot with the old items. One of my favorite things was to build multiple Rod of Ages since they would all still stack over time but the mana restore passive wouldn't stack. So the item would give you 100 AP and 500 Health with the 400 mana being useless, making you unkillable
