I used this video to make one of my own, ty! I learned a lot. Fun project
I'm glad it helped!
Beautiful!!!
Beautiful. Great idea for those of us who don’t own a planer!
If I had know this I wouldn’t have bought a planer.
Excuse me what is the name of that tool
@@estebangutierrez9941 Which tool?
@@estebangutierrez9941 He's using a router and a routing sled. For stuff like this it'll work great, I've used the same method to flatten tree stumps before.
Che talento ! Bravo
Mind blowing

Great job. I want to do something like this when I get the equipment for it.

Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Anytime and sub'd!
Great job. I might just try my hand at this, now that I suddenly seem to have a lot of free time on my hands.
Oh, and thanks for not adding an overly loud disco techno party soundtrack and making a huge mess out of it. I've never understood why that's a thing.
its cool
Was looking for something in the comments and went all the way to the beginning. Wow was this video trolled. So much so I forgot what I was looking for to begin with. But some people are laughable. Great work.
Black font with white border can be seen on any color, would make it much easier to read

No crappy music, no incessant babbling, no annoying wives/girlfriends, kids or pets.

Thanks in Algeria for you
Love your job wish you gave the dimension on the cutting board
Great work! What are the original dimensions of the blanks?
Excellent work. What routing bit size and type did you use to do the flattening? You made very quick work of flattening it.
👌👌👌👌
Beautiful how much to buy one?
Great work, you might want to look into using Coconut Oil for your boards...
coconut oil is NOT recommended! can go rancid
Nice work! The mineral oil added at the end must be food grade mineral oil.
Yeah. This stuff is from walmart.
Hey man I was thinking of building this design aswell then I stumbled across your video when you look at the finished shopping board from a birds eye veiw like as you're about to cut something what are the measurements of the brick and mortar?
Nice video!!
May i know what was that liquid you we’re putting?
Do you have the measurements to make this? Pretty cool looking
👍
That’s super nice! Do you have rough detentions of the board and of the wood strips before glueing?
Thanks! The board ended up about 15 3/4" x 9 1/8". The bricks are about 1 1/8" x 1 7/8". The mortar strips are 1/4" thick, and the finished board is 1 7/16" thick.
Çok güzel
👍👍
can I learn the both wood material?
which tree are you using for this?
Do you have thoughts on spraying the board with water after your initial sanding to raise the grain? Then sanding again to get the fuzzies off? And then applying your final coats of oil....
Thats what I do. I didn't film that part in this video, but I've showed it in the more recent ones.

Which mineral oil you used???
Any food safe mineral oil will work. This particular stuff came from the local Walmart.
Brick Wall
I just started and was wondering where to find those find types of wood? Big box stores don't really carry anything like that
Search your area for a hardwood supplier. I'm in the Houston TX area, and buy my lumber from Houston Hardwoods.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice job. Only thing is brick layers don't line up the joints anymore let alone stager them correctly. They do a horrible job you do a perfect job. Thanks
I think you forgot something the Super loud music thanks and I appreciate it nice board by the way
Thanks! I'm more a fan of letting the tools make the music.
Brandon Hartman - Woodworking there you go, the way should be 👍
what type of wood is that?Exellent job.
Walnut and hard maple.
Hoe big did you cut your second strips, the ones with the bit of dark walnut in
What are the dimensions of the boards before gluing?
I took some pictures from your video and went out and showed the shop 🏬 owner he also makes wood 🪵 stuff 🚪🪑🪟🪞but he refused saying it is very difficult not working always. He said it is very difficult, we cannot do such a thing. ☹️

What kinda but did you use for your router to plane the top?
I use this one geni.us/0ibEA25
Just curious... did you plane it with a router because you don't have a regular planer, or because the router is better for some reason?
Similar question for sanding... orbit sander better than a drum sander or do you not have a drum sander?
I have a planer, but you don't want to run an end grain board through it because there's a risk of it blowing apart (damaging the board, planer, or both). There are ways to lower the risk, (gluing on support boards, super shallow passes, helical cutterhead) but doing it with a router sled is much safer for both the board and the board builder.
Oh yea, strip dimensions? Just curious to make a ratio.
Nice work. Is that some special food grade glue?
This board was made with Titebond 3. It's rated food safe, as is Titebind 2 which I use more often now.
@@brandonthebuildertx great, thank you !
Nice work, Im guessing the maple is about 3/4" x 1 1/4"?
has anyone mentioned the Rent-A Spouse ad in the newspaper around 2:05??
Haha. Catchy name for a handyman service.
