Lyrics
My old pal looks shaky with a cigarette in his hand
Salt and pepper sprinkled on his face and on his head
Looks like he might start crying, is it just something that I said?
Let’s take a walk around the block
This fleeting feeling is infinite
Around here we’ve been wondering what tomorrow’s going to sing
On the final field recording from the loud Anthropocene
I’ve seen the sparkle of the diamonds on the watch of the emcee
It’s not keeping time, just shining
It’s not the first time you said, one and done
And oh my god
And oh my god
Stood in your prom dress all covered in blood
What you sacrificed will never be enough
This whole town looks empty but we knew it wouldn’t last
Behind bulletproof windows they’re still wiring the cash
Whatever they could scrape up, whatever that they had
There’s a lot of mouths to feed through this famine
This room seems even smaller now than I remember it
Hung mirrors on the walls and the ceiling
There’s no disguising it
There’s no denying it
This little box fits everything there is
It’s not the first dance you said, one and done
And oh my god
Baby oh my god
Came to the wedding you were looking rough
Watch the masochists all celebrating love
Come up!
Come up!

Very reminiscent of the old days. I love it, good stuff, Conor!
I never leave comments, but I had to for this one. I started listening to this for the first time and my chest got so tight and it felt hard to breathe, because I was so shocked how word for word it matched what I've been going through. I've had a falling out with one of my only friends ever, a deaf man who's 30+ years older than me. He also smokes. The very first line, "you were in my dreams" was something he said to me right before we had our falling out.
And cant say how much i love this song.i had to smoke some weed.and sit and down and listen again....and i realized his brilliance in these lyrics.
Conner is my hero and the inspiration behind my music
i'll see that, and raise you my cat is named conor
Yeah same, I love every single song, doesn't matter how different they are. If it's Conor, I will love it
Gordon Maskell 😂😂😂 you got me there
Must have really messed up Conner... his mother drowning all his brothers in the bathtub, bridges disappearing under his feet, brushing snow from his hair, trying to be careful to not walk on cracks, and avoiding scales and units of measurement. One of the most underrated artist of this last decade.
Love you Conor!!!!
Graciaaaas
Thank you very much bright eyes!
Te quitaron el trabajo:(
Eres el amor de mi vida dónde quiera que estés.
So inspiring
If can listen to this song & Not feel all sorts of stuff..... YOU ARE NOT HUMAN ⚡💀⚡
❤️🤘
When he talks about the prom dressed covered in blood.and what you sacrificed will never be enough.that line guts me like a knife cuz it makes me think if my daughter who is 4.and the reality of the situation.kinda makes me sick.
Cuál es el contexto de la canción? :0
Soy medio pendejo y no le atino x'd
Parece ser una historia post-apocaliptica.
