Unfortunately although there is educational content for children to use e.g. on youtube. CZcams as well as the content creators of these education materials design them in such a way to make the user addicted to it. Whether it be the colours or effects they use for the vid. As a result, although they are watching educational videos, they are more so enjoying the video rather learning something. There should be study done on how attainable the knowledge is for children who learn through the screen in comparison to learning the traditional way.

When the topic of parenting is brought up especially in context within the Eritrean community it is presented as the old way is wrong and we need to get with the times and adapt with the western way of parenting. This is not right. In fact the amazing points that our sister Adiam points out are not new advice for this day and age, they are in fact ancient. For example if you read St John Chrysostom on marriage and family life, it already includes many of the good points adiam made. Such as fathers spending quality time with their family. And this is from over 1,500 years ago. Or the book of Proverbs and Wisdom of Sirach. These are books written by fathers advising their children on how to live a good life which implies they are invested in their children's life. So instead of us trying to present the right way of parenting as some new discovery let us assure our people this is the way of ancient time rooted in religion. Why? Well people are scared of trying new methods especially when it's presented from a western point of view because what good things come from the west!😂
