    Thank god for this video, I just spent 3 days trying to find the correct spout and slip. Even tried to think of a way to use a bunch of different adapters.

    Oh my gosh...I can't believe I found this video. I've been to every store out there and Fergusons and nobody knows what this is. I have a Kohler faucet pretty much like this. I couldn't find the link below or on your website. Please will you provide it in a reply to me so I can order it? Thank you.

    Thank you for the video. I found that I could unscrew the plastic inner tube of a 1/2 inch spout and screw in 1 1/8 inch Delta plastic inner and that this worked perfectly.

    This video saved the day and a call to a plumber. Big thanks!!! For anyone unsure, this is definitely the correct spout for the 1" connection. What made the search more complicated was that when I removed the original spout the white inner plastic part didn't come off with it. That led me to believe I had to get another spout without the inner white extension piece. The good news is that it doesn't matter. You can either take the original white piece off after removing the original spout, by turning it counterclockwise. Once the spout and white extension are removed, the new spout can be screwed on with its inner plastic extension (back threaded options). Or take the new spout's inner part out if you left the original white extension piece on the pipe and you have a true front threaded connection. Either way it will work.
    If you don't have time to wait for Amazon delivery, you can find the part at both Lowes or Home Depot under model # RP5834.
    Thanks again, brother!

      I'm having trouble. Took two back to home Depot. Can't get the white extension piece off, it will go so far, with channel locks, then that's it.
      When I measure the end of the threaded white extension it's pushing 1". I cant get that white piece off.

    Good video. Unfortunately my diverter is a Delta slip on 1" Brushed Nickel. Cannot locate one that size. It's probably from around 2010 give or take. The wall pipe is an odd size so neither 1/2" or 3/4" diverters will fit. No idea of model number.

    Thank God for this video for proving I'm not crazy about my weird 1" tub spout. However, mine is even weirder, because I need a front-end thread version. This house originally came with such a spout, so I know this type of mythical creature existed at some point, but the original spout has since been lost. Has anybody seen something like that in the wild today?

    • @PlumbingPartsPro
      @PlumbingPartsPro  Před rokem +1

      So chances are it's the same spot and the white plastic section stayed in the wall. I bet that section will screw off. Email me a picture of the old spout and the part coming out of the wall to info@plumbingpartspro.com

    • @mj-ls7qr8xp3n
      @mj-ls7qr8xp3n Před rokem

      Mines front end threaded as well and can not get the white piece off. It turns counterclockwise so far, then that's it, won't budge w vice grips.

    The link in the description goes to an Amazon product that is a 1/2" connector. Not the 1 1/8" that is mentioned in the video.

    • @PlumbingPartsPro
      @PlumbingPartsPro  Před 3 lety

      That is correct. When they say 1/2" it refers to the pipe size that the brass adapter either screws or solders to. This usually stays on the wall and people prefer not to change that part. If you remove the adapter from the new product it will fit

  • @number1pappy

    Can someone explain to me why the standard size for a tub spout is 1/2 or 3/4 inch??? We used to live an own an older house that had a 1 inch tub spout that was fed with a 1 inch pipe, and it filled the tub rather quickly!! Well, fast forward to our newer house (built in 2000), and the tub spout is fed with a 1/2 pipe and has a 1/2 tub spout. It takes considerably longer to fill our tub. It's ridiculous!! Why has code or whatever is driving this smaller pipe agenda ,doing this???? Anyone?????

    • @PlumbingPartsPro
      @PlumbingPartsPro  Před rokem

      Almost all faucets have a 1/2 inch connection unless it's a High Volume faucet used on showers with multiple heads or larger garden or jetted tubs.

  • @number1pappy
    @number1pappy Před rokem

    This is not a solution as it reduces the flow to 1/2 from the 1 inch . Granted, it does give you the ability to actually have a new spout, but with the cost of taking longer to fill your tub.

    • @PlumbingPartsPro
      @PlumbingPartsPro  Před rokem

      99% of tub spouts have a 1/2inch connection. This one also has a 1/2" connection with a 1 inch adapter at the end that is typically soldered on and most homeowners can not solder. It's titled as 1 inch because that's what mist people search for as the ones at hone depot are roo small for the adapter. Thanks for watching
