2023 Honda Hornet CB750 Ergonomics & Rider Fit

- I take a look at the ergonomics and rider fit of the 2023 Honda Hornet or CB750, a new middle-weight nakedbike that offers exceptional value and performance.
Despite being a 755 cc the Hornet feels and handles like a smaller and lighter bike, belying the 190 kg weight, and ensuring a confidence inspiring ride.
A 795 mm seat height is on the low side of things, making for an inviting reach to the ground, combined with narrow bike design. Upright 'bars keep things relaxed, as far as the greater rider triangle, despite an engaged seat to 'peg ratio.
The Honda Hornet CB750 should be well suited to smaller riders, those after a fairly neutral and easy handler and still offers the thrills. See my full review for a run down on the whole bike.
MotoHub in Sydney were kind enough to lend me their demo Honda Hornet CB750, so check them out if you're in Sydney and would like a test ride:

I've seen a few hornets around town, and i gotta say they look a lot better than some of the preview shots implied! i think they just looked too small in photos, but they're actually pretty sharp in person.
Yep they look significantly better in person! I was a bit iffy looking at the photos but would own one in a second.
i sat on one in the showroom a few days ago and agree totally, i'm 6' and 30.75" inseam - it just felt great so i reckon i'm getting one, can't wait :)
Exactly. Shorter so need a ralley seat !
Great review, Kris! Love the photo at 3:03 too.
Yep there was some great shots from the Aussie launch by Julian Spiller and Matthew Hayman.
@@MotoJournoKris These have a really low seat height! My 2020 XSR900 is too high for my 29" inseam!
@@theaustralianconundrum Yep they are very manageable for seat height!
The Biggest Problem with the Hornet
In The UK is you just cant get Hold of
One Till September! There is a
Waiting List. So Honda must be
Doing something Right
I know Honda here in Australia said they weren't sure they could keep up with demand too, as production is still returning to normal, especially with the bike made in Japan, although that's not too bad a problem to have as long as the wait doesn't get too long.
I'm 190cm tall and I will probably be best to test ride this bike to check the ergos. It's a shame we only get this bike in Black and White here in Oz. The UK gets the yellow one which pops.
The Suzuki Gsx8s looks great in blue and white and the tank graphics look cool. It looks a bit better for taller riders too.
Yea that yellow colour scheme looks amazing, definitely the most eye-catching of the three.
That's Arcadia Oval and Berowra waters carpark!
It is!
Presently I’m looking at a z650. While it doesn’t have the best power, what I love about it is how compact it is! I saw this bike and now I’m having second thoughts. Is does this bike have a similar small fork factor, or is it a little bit fuller it size like an SV650 or a MT09?
I thought it was quite compact, but perhaps not quite to the level of the Z650. I'd try sitting on one and seeing what you think though. You might be surprised.
Is there a cover to take off the back seat, do not so hi to climb over
Might be able to get a seat cowl, but I'm not sure that'll help with the height there.
How to raise the seat for more leg room, like the 500x!!
Tall seats are sometimes offered as accessories and most comfort seats add a little height, which is probably your best bet. The stock seat could also be customised by an upholsterer I think to add more height.
The rear shock on the Hornet is not harsh at all I don’t know where you’re getting that from.
Riding it on my local roads, although it's a fairly normal issue even on more expensive bikes.
Very crunched kegs if your 6'. Compared to the 500x
The CB500X being an adventure really benefits from a more open and roomy rider triangle.
im 6ft6 (198) , do u think i ll fit in that?
I would think you'd physically fit, but it's on the compact side, so depends how you feel on the bike.
Hı i am 183 tall is it a problem with this machine?
I wouldn't think so, you should be right if you're generally happy with the more compact roadster ergos.
Do you think a 6 foot 3 rider would still be comfortable on it?
I would have thought so, it's quite a comfortable ride triangle.
No. Legs can't stretch out. Lower pegs, higher seat needed
I just want a classic round headlight on that thing and it’ll look half way decent instead of a knockoff KTM that doesn’t break down every couple of weeks.
That'd be a cool customisation, I definitely like the classic round headlights!
The SV is still goated!
Doubtless a great bike, but I'd rather have the Suzuki GSX-8S.
Can't wait to test out the GSX-8S to see how they compare, it is a looker!
I'll keep the 500x
