I am a fan of Cruz Azul, those finals against America hurt a lot, especially 2013, but you did not abandon the team and they gave me the happiest day of my life on May 30, 2021, good video sharing the story of my team to the world🚂💙
It is said that the 2013 final was fixed, since it is rumored that the player "Cata" Dominez was sold and gave away the last goal in regular time for America.
In the 2013 final, the last goal was an own goal, it wasn't a goal keeper goal.

Good little video - if you're interested in footballing curses then you may want to take a look at the so-called "Curse of Bela Guttman". Guttman was a Hungarian football manager who had just defended Benfica's European Cup title in 1962. When he asked the board for a pay rise, they declined and he subsequently left the club, stating "not for a hundred years will Benfica ever be European champions again". Since then, Benfica's senior team have lost *all eight* of their European Cup, UEFA Cup and Europa League finals (1963, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1988, 1990, 2013 and 2014).

Idk if I would call it a curse now. Their longtime president had an insurance policy that made him $40 million if they lost. More than what they would make if they won. I’m sure most of those championships were blown on purpose. Not all. The 2013 hurts the most. I want to believe with all my heart that they threw it on purpose but I don’t think so. I believe América wanted it more at the end. Crazy shit.

I bought a Cruz Azul jersey back in 1995 or '96. I knew nothing about them, but I saw the jersey and really liked it. I wore it over the years, but no one ever noticed (that I recall, anyway). Last year I wore it on a vacation, driving around Colorado and Utah - knowing little about the team and nothing about the curse. My first stop was a college football game in Colorado. I'm wearing the shirt, and some guy says, "Cruz Azul! Can I take my picture with you?" This was followed by a Mexican family in a hotel that thought it was so cool that I was wearing it. Then my wife and I are walking into a restaurant and a guy says, "Hey, I'm from Mexico! Let me tell you about Cruz Azul!" He told me about the curse, how the name Cruz Azul had become slang for 'choke,' etc... It was a 2 week vacation, and after the 2nd time someone approached me, I wore the jersey more often than I didn't, haha. It was (and still is) a great conversation starter!

I don’t even go for Cruz Azul but they were literally champs in 2020 😂 and even when they weren’t league champs they still won a lot of championships I wouldn’t say they are the most cursed I’d say in Mexico it’s pumas 🤣
I mean the way they lost in finals are pretty brutal. And it’s not just 2013 against America, they also lost against Toluca in a final where the ref missed a clear penalty. They lost that final in penalties. Another thing we have to remember is that between 1997 to 2020 they only really won 2 copa mx
