We say this prayer as part of our Sunday practice at our Gompa in Long Beach, CA, Lobsang-la. I have always liked the sound of it but now that you've explained it, it seems even more beautiful. I want to say it in Tibetan, and now I can get the pronunciation perfect. I will say this prayer every day now. This is ancient Tibetan, isn't it? Tujay chey! (I hope I got that right I'm trying to say "thank you)..

thank you so much. I am very happy to know the proper pronunciation- there are some inaccuracy or mistakes in western languages transcriptions in buddist sanghas to find.

You are welcome, Sunaasel! We're so happy to help with the pronunciation. You may still find other Tibetans who pronounce it slightly differently, but this is definitely one authentic way to say it :-)

I have another question, Lobsang. I would like to know what the symbol on the buddha picture (in the Tibetan Culture Newsletter) means. Does it have a different meaning than the dot I usually see depicted?
