I remember being at the beginning of all the cardistry. The community was being built on Decknique which was a very popular forum for people who flourished. I remember being extremely active there and coming up with flourishes that people actually saw and used from me. Then the website closed and I kind of dropped off from cardistry. When I came back 4 or 5 years ago, the art has moved so far that I was left way to far behind. I still do flourishes I have created over the years even though they don’t seem as innovative as they did before, but I’m just so proud of where this art form has gone to. It’s truly incredible it has expended beyond a “handful” of dedicated people. Proud of everyone who takes up cardistry as the primary thing.

Hey Chris, I know that this video is 4 years old and I am just now discovering for the first time, but as I am a complete newb to Cardistry, watching you, who have come a long way since this video was made, is so much fun since I look up to you the same way you look up to the guys in this video. I feel like a regular human civilian, while your like Batman, and the guys in the video are at Superman level. I could watch you reacting to top-tier Cardists all day long. In this video I feel like I am hanging out with you at your home while we sit in awe of what talents and skills are waiting for us at the top of the mountain. Thanks for this, Even though now your much closer to the level of the guys in this video, watching you get your mind blown back then gives me hope for my own Cardistry future.

Is there an age limit? Not like a specific age, but is it possible to start trying and practicing this at like, say 44 (random age...maybe) or is it like gymnastics or wrestling where you will never be able to do this if you didn't start young. I realize younger people can pick it up (relatively) quick if they have the dexterity, patience, and focus. What I'm asking is what is the likelihood of someone who didn't have CZcams growing up being able to learn and perfect at least some cardistry manipulations? I don't need to be able to do what the top people do, but I find this so soothing that I'd love to be able to do some level of cardistry. I grew up shooting rifles. Literally grew up doing this. Didn't really hunt (often) and didn't do it to be macho. It was so satisfying to hit the pinprick sized 10 point dot that I ditched parties, football, etc to go shoot with a competitive team. I really hated that I had to take JROTC as one of my classes in order to be a member of the rifle team. However, it was something so satisfying and relaxing that it was worth it. I feel like this is a similar hobby. I'm just afraid I'm too old to even try to get started.

Just started a week ago at age 48 thanks to Chris's willingness to make some videos for real beginners. I am already doing, though very slowly, two one handed cuts (including revolution), sybil cut, spring, dribble, and waterfall, plus several two handed cuts and false cuts, faro shuffle and fan and a few other random easy moves Chris taught me in his videos.

I hope you started. You’d be amazed at how many activities there are that you can learn regardless of age. You don’t need to be a child to learn how to play piano. I’ve known people who started playing at the age of 50. Cardistry is no different (if anything is easier). You can do it

New subscriber... I absolutely love your channel, your demeanor, and humility. I know 2 or 3 cheesy slide of hand tricks that I do for my toddlers. They love it but they know which hand it ends up in by now! I now want to learn some card tricks and this black magic you call "Cardistry" blows my mind!

Mine was so terrible, I went to the doctor. He said theres a minor surgery he can do to slow it down but I don't like the idea of cutting something in my arm. Then he gave me a spray which is basically alcohol to spray on my hands. Which, only works for 5 minutes... LOL

I used to do prestidigitation when I was about 13, but then life happened, and I stopped. 32 years later, I am devouring all of Chris Ramsey's videos! I cannot get enough of them!!! So inspiring, and finding ways to prove that Anyone can do something, and turn it into their own variation routine. There are a couple of these tricks that I have a mind to learn and combine with magic, because they are SO versatile!

I started a CZcams channel several years ago, because people from work wanted me to post videos about all the crazy calls I have been on in my 22 years as a Computer Technician in call centers. Every time I get ready to start thinking about it...bam! life. Heck, I am a cubist as well (I Love my collection though it is only like 20ish,) and I am not a speed cubist, but there is a method of solving I learned when I was 11 that works on all sizes of cubes, with 1 or 2 additional moves as the size increases (though the extra moves never go above 2). I believe we will both get there eventually. #wingandaprayer
